don't know the time but some of us will probably be there about 7:30-8. I for one do not plan to barclose do to needing sleep before the hunt tomorrow.
Thank you all for the encouragement with my quit smoking plan. I have my own little help line right here at Able Minds. I leave for Sun Valley this morning and will let you know how it went when I come home.
Good luck to the teams competing in AW's hunt today!
Here's the headcount for Carbone's for Sunday 9/14 6:30PM - I think I got them all, but let me know if I missed you or miscounted the number coming from your home:
4 Ares & TC and girls
1 Becksie
2 Clue Master
2 Eags (Vicky will be joining us!)
1 Green
1 Iceman
1 L&A Mommy
1 Me2
3 MJ
2 Terry
Mom and family *might* be able to stop by for a bit.
So, I'm going to call in a reservation for 18 and tell them we might vary from that a bit.
If anyone wants me to add them on, or their plans change, please post here. I will check in here a couple of times tomorrow and revise the count if need be.
Eags - you can probably write in Mr. & Mrs Dach5und too. I thought it was originally going to be at noon (we'd still be helping at church) but 6:30 should be OK.
Does anyone know of a good site to check for recent car accidents in the metro?
I'm not sure if I should check police, DOT, news sites..?
The father of a kid in my wednesday night kids program was killed in a car accident Saturday morning, I didn't get many of the details about the accident and wondered if there was someplace to look those up.
Mr and Mrs Dach5und won't be there tonight I guess- we gotta get a lot of stuff done tonight - the wife isn't feeling good and I got a borderline migraine headache. Used my brain too much for yesterday's hunt. Have fun!
I didn't see your list because I wasn't in the Cooler all weekend otherwise it woulda either reminded me about Carbones or I woulda been able to respond that I wouldn't make. Almost too much happened Saturday that I think some info was just literally pushed out of my brain because of it. I had a fun long day Saturday that extended late that night. I vegged and watched football and completely forgot about Carbones. I wanted to see Eags terribly but knew I had alot on my plate this weekend. My cellphone went dead and I was home after running to Blockbuster (right around the corner from Carbones) when I got the call that you were all there. I woulda stopped in - I really like their pizza.
Nice drive home yesterday. I stopped in Duluth for a couple of hours. Watched raptor migration at Hawk Ridge. Got a sandwich at Sir Benedict's Tavern on my way out of town.
Was sure nice to see everyone Sunday evening! I'm already looking forward to my next trip to the cities, whenever that may be.
I have a lunch meeting/interview this week and a second interview next week. If the hiring-type people from MN want me, they'd better speak up quickly!
There were about 50 cars up there, lots of birders.
Mostly kestrels, bald eagles while I was there. Some people with spotting scopes were seeing much more - including flocks of sandhill cranes - that those of us with good binocs couldn't see.
Wish I could have stayed longer. Being there at midday probably was not the most active time.
I'd like to introduce a new/old forum member, Quarter Moon. He has paid membership and is just learning the ropes here.
He used to post on the Shoot the Breeze forums with the Cooler Crew many years ago. He got to know some of us and we met him at the airport when he flew in to go ice fishing with some buddies. We showed up wearing our Cooler Crew t-shirts and pith helmets. This was back when you could still go to the gate.
Welcome, Quarter Moon! I think you are gonna really like it here!
Sorry we missed out on Carbonies on Sunday. It would have been nice to see everyone. I fell asleep after that disappointing end to the Vikes game. We'll catch you the next time you're in town Eags.
We save them and don't forget about the milk tops! They are worth 5 cents to the schools too! We have two baggies one with milk caps and the other with box tops about to be full. I of course send them to L and A's school. I don't typically save the soup can lables because I can never get them off cleanly and its too much of a pain.
get together
