Upon returning from my second (of three) trips to Menards today, I found a Highway Patrol vehicle waiting in front of my house. I went inside and the Trooper who was on scene for our accident 3 weeks ago was waiting for me. He had a photo of the guy who hit us!
The guy's story is that he didexchange name, insurance, etc. with me at the scene before driving off. Yeah, sure buddy. Apparantly, his insurance company got anxious wondering why no other motorist had contacted them. So they contacted the HiPo. The HiPo put two and two together and matched him to the partial plate we had. Yeah! I'm gonna get my $1000 deductible back!

Oh, sorry! The real plate was GCU 789. So yeah, we were really close. I think we originally wrote down CGU, but were not 100% sure on it. The Trooper said that he tried that plate at the scene, but it came up as a blank because it was a new issue plate and wasn't in the system yet.

Hey Frosti- how did the police have a picture of the other car? from the insurance co or from one of those cameras on the highway?
our damages came to $992.11 -the woman is gonna pay out of her own pocket.
They didn't have a picture of the other car. The Trooper had a picture of the driver. It looked like it was from his drivers license photo in their database.
