Hello all! I know we have all been probably bombarded with so many people asking for donations. My daughter Carissa and her classmates are having an aluminum can drive and are asking anyone who wish to donate cans can do so either by having us pick them up or dropping them off at Highland Park Jr. High.
Here is a poster that she will be posting in school and around the neighborhood. She probably can get the message across better than I can. This was her idea and her classmates thought it would be a great idea.
Just an after note! It's great to be back on the board....can hardly wait to see some of you out there hunting...I don't know most of you but I've met some of you at the Rehash-Bash last year. Unfortunatly, I won't be able to attend the Predig....parents will be in town. I hope some of you remember me!
I hope to be on the board a lot more....it's hard to get on and I'm going to have to practice a lot because I personally have a hard time navigating this board.....PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE
Outtmymind - that is great that your kid and the school is doing such a nice thing!
My company did a huge donation today & I am very proud of them. Being they are so corporate minded I wouldn't have expected them to.Â
My service club does a "project happy child" where when we go to other countries for conventions / meetings etc - we bring 4-5 kids clothing items with us in our suit case to take to a shelter there - we know it gets to the people direct without getting solen in customs etc - and it makes a direct impact in a childs life.. something to think about if you go traveling. There are over 500 of us going to Mexico this May - and we are each bringing a full suitcase of clothing - now THAT is really going to make a difference. Â
There is a world wide org called WOCO (world council of service clubs)
they are an org that encompasses most volunteer work all over the world - and they are also doing things to aide in the effort - and my club is working through them so we can also send clothing etc.Â
Great. I don't really know mucluck. I know she geo-caches, but... Did we meet at the RHB last year? (I forget people until I've met them like 20 times - Sorry.)
The Wizard's not sending me any vibes about Dersky, so I would have to say that no, it's not Dersky.
I wonder... Izz Button Hat Guy like a Shriner or something?Â
I hope that things work out that your organization you participates in gets stuff to South Asia.
I really am praying that the can drives takes off and works out well for the kids...even if they collected $100 that is money that I'm sure would be put to good use.
I am just proud your kids are learning the concept of giving back through community so early on in their lives. I think it's something that can be so over looked.Â
I don't think everyone has to go to the extremes that I do with volunteering - but so many people think that the "little bit" they could do just won't add up - and in reality it adds up to a tsunami of effort.
Good luck to them, and tell them that even if they only make $20.00 - that is $20.00 of relief they wouldn't have had before.
Great ideas you two. Welcome back outta - I have a couple of bags of cans that I could bring to the PDD but it sounds like you can't come. I'll try and make it up to HP to drop them off. I'm gonna see if my kids school is doing anything yet. If not, I might rip off your idea.Â
Hey L4V - Pick a forum and stick with it. I see you all over the place. ;-)
*Not* a geo-cacher, huh? Well, I've no idea... I'm thinking like a Shriner...
But wait... Isn't there sumbuddy that told me once about them going to clown school... Is this a foggy memory, or did I read this in a book? A woman... Clown school?
I don't remember seeing someone as a clown and then not a clown, or did I? But there was TONS of filming I wasn't around/in.
I'd try to contact most of the Fraternities on the U of M campus....most of them go thru about a 30 gallons worth of cans a week...if you tell them what its for ...they will gladly help as its would give them easy credit for charity work....
the best day to contact most of them is monday during the day before their weekly monday night meeting....just try to get in touch with the philanthropy chairs.
Â
heck if one of them throws a party your looking at about 6 big bags of crushed cans at least.
CRAP! Ittiz What's-Her-Name!!!! The pretty one... "Sumbuddy's Mommy" - right? Bubbly, nice laugh, great smile.
I ask her EVERY YEAR.... "Do I know you?" And every year she just laughs at me and says, "We go through this every year." I remember talking to her at Marry'um.
That her, muluck? And thanks for the hints. But if you knew/know, why not say so? This trivia thing is for us all. Ittiz NOT "Lettuce Stump green [which is not very hard to do] and see how long it takes her to guess." Ittiz for everbuddy to try and guess.
Or izzit Little Slim? Cause I go through the same "doIknowyou" routine with her.
Only 16 MORE WAKE-UPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mornin', 'Crew! Nice to see everbuddy. Nice coffee, Mom.
Catch you guys later!!! :D
***note to crew...send in those post cards...
** I need to do that as well.

I'd help out, but we don't do aluminum cans at our house. We buy 2 litre bottles.
I hope to be on the board a lot more....it's hard to get on and I'm going to have to practice a lot because I personally have a hard time navigating this board.....PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE

I know three people ittiz not. Now, if the person that is that person sees this, please let folks guess beefore you tell who you are.

I, too, like the peace and quiet and happiness here. It's been really nice so far and I, for one, would like it to stay that way.
was it ...."dersky"?
Dersky? Ah, who's that? Sorry.
It wasn't either one o'The Ninjas. I answered that. And ittiz not me. But ittiz sumbuddy. And I've been told it's a hard question.

It's gotta bee one o'the geo-cachers...

How long is that aluminum drive for the tsunami victims going to be up??
We donated through Mrs. Frosti's work. They're double-matching our contribution!
*Not* a geo-cacher, huh? Well, I've no idea... I'm thinking like a Shriner...

Dersky... Isn't that Steve?
doesn't she usually wear a camo outfit when she hunts?? i think I talked to her at phalen last year.
Maureen?
Nope. Not Maureen. Steve's 'Doyle' - not Durksy.
Is she somebody's kid?
When was he going to put all those pix up on the NTFCF site?
you need a magic wand ?
For some reason, I keep thinking KT... Or KT was around. Or I met KT at the same time...
I don't know! I wish you guys would say so that we could get a new trivia question. This one sucks!
more hints
LL had it right - camo
Green yes it was clown school for Girl scouts
She has posted here
Green you meet her every year and ask who are you ?
Alls I know is if the PP decides to encrypt clues in a cipher style (playfair, vignere, monoalphabetic substition, enigma), I'm ready!
I've been solving cryptographic puzzle caches on geocaching.com, think I know more about cryptography than I should ever need to know.
