Master, just my not-so-humble opinion...  But I think history [in the clues] should be involved. Because The Hunt is and of itself historic. This ain't some cheap, stupid penny-ante carnival ride.  This is the St. Paul Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt held in conjunction with the St. Paul Winter Carnival, and it's been going on for like 53 years.

My thoughts exactly, but when you take it to the point that the Como hunt went, it doesn't make it any easier for the beginner, all it does is make the hunt last longer when nobody can figure out the clues.  I can't remember a hunt where there were 3 clues that weren't even deciphered before they published the meanings in the paper after the it was found.  That isn't making it more enjoyable for anybody.  That was a huge disappointment for everyone no matter how long they looked.  They might as well do the 12th clue and leave it at that.

Well said, My Master.  My thoughts exactly.  I agree 100%. 

We got to the 11th clue and were still going in circles. And there was nothing in the preceding 10 clues one could have used to have even come close to finding The Med on Clue 11.  As you said, though I'm paraphrasing, Clues 1-11 were pretty worthless and only - ONLY - Clue 12 would get you to The Med.  I agree.  The Hunt went longer with those $hit-arse clues, but the whole Hunt was engineered TO GO to the last and final Clue.  The Med could not have been found any other way.

No sport or fun in that.

So I prattle and bark.  So what?  It's the truth and if those guys at Mom Press don't like it, they can bring back Boxmeyer and Millett and make The Hunt FUN again.

Man.  I REALLY need that assertiveness class... 

THX...  I would if I could.  Really.  You know what The Cooler Crew means to me.  But I just don't have the funds.  I'm behind in bills...  And just stuff.

I feel guilty that I can't contribute because I like post from here to next week...  But I just can't.

Finally!

Took me forever to slog through all the new posts around here.  I don't even want to think about how that's going to be come the hunt.

We are way too lucky.  Today, after a crazy morning, we get a drop in visit by the Federal auditor folks.  Seems they are going to be around for awhile.  They'd best not be around though by the hunt. 

 

I've not - called McGovern's - as I usually do.  Figured I didn't need to, that it had already been done, because the date was set and posted quite a bit ago. Figured whomever put up the info had already let Pat know the scoop.

So, that's not been done.  Not good.  But one saving grace is there are no hockey games...

Hope we can get in...  You *know* how they can be with us sometimes... (Usually?)
