Air, really - seriously... have you read all 4,156 posts - as I have, some of them 5-6 times, and printed to your hard drive the ones that seem of import to you??? There is SO much info here - and many, many, many great ideas. Sorry to get on you. (should have kept quiet) It just gets so tedious people getting on and immediately asking for info that's been said in so many ways, SO many times. Like, "Otay. I'm here now. So fill me in as I'm too dang lazy to put any work into this."

It took me almost three hours to get to where I could post tonite at the current time. And I left off at about 8:30+/- this a.m.!!!!

Yeah Whatever DJ Guy We don't know where you have been, but we ALL know it is in Cherokee. Cherokee Cherokee Cherokee. Mark my words, CHEROKEE, I've already crossed the line from Mounds, and it is NOT there people!

ATTENTION MOUNDERS...

I'm still betting the farm on CHEROKEE. Your "double division" and "three pyramids" are still too much of a stretch, while at Cherokee they're quite obvious.

Waiting for tonight's clue...then I'll be finding it! Heard some pretty good theories while searching at CP today.

Maybe the clues that point to CP are TOO obvious.

It won't matter where you think it is in about 35 minutes, because it will be confirmed as to the whereabouts of the medallion as they narrow the park with the next clue - To Cherokee. Get There First

that is one war zone about to get even worse.

Hey Airbourne---How do you get your pix up there, I tried earlier bun to no avail.

My money's still on Cheorkee.

First Timer,

That's why you're a first timer, and we're grizzled veterans. You have to let the clues lead you to the park, not twist the clues to fit your favorite park.

East Siders are too damn stubborn. They refuse to leave their territory. This is fine with me. Leave Cherokee for those of us who can intrepret this mess and dig like maniacs.

Air - will you share the latest on "lode" with me?

Well... *I* was ehll-bent for Battle Creek at first. Then BJ and a few others that were very quiet in posting their opinions got me to see the lite... plus (blushing modestly) I was able to REALLY help others with my observations... convinced me it was Cherokee. *However* so many of you are completely ignoring very important facts... and due to a previous idea... I'm *patiently* (i'm lying... I'm not being patient AT ALL!!!) waiting for my "eyes" to check in as the Med *could* (maybe) be elsewhere. But, that's just my opinion. And I've yet nothing concrete to base it on.

TONIGHT'S HOT TIP....

Think about where you should be standing so that "you should look near a place Where three pyramids rise over the snow".

That's all I'm gonna say....

Why do people insist that the clues are so obvious. Maybe they're actually trying to make it harder this year.

Todd, Nope, if I worked for the PP, I'd be ineligible, so I'd be in bed right now.

Indian Mounds Park was the place in 1987. How are these places picked. Does anyone know? Is it random?

A lot of people keep asking what would lead to Mound. Here's what we cam up with...Clue 2 says water and woods, and high ground, obviously the river and woods nearby, and the high bluff. Clue 3, well, we went with both the Rosebud reference to Citizen Kane, and Thorn street, apparently there are sliders down the hill from the beacon, which we took from #4 as the large object in view, and the dome from the capitol as the dome mentioned. Clue 5 we really stretched on and said that Reserve Street could be the immeasurable riches, i.e. Federal Reserve, Clue 6 we took track as being the railroad tracks down by the river, and you can see the NSP stack from Mounds, Clue 7 was the double division, which everyone and their mother took as the Tennis Courts, and #8, well the only pyramids we could see were the shelters at the park, which all three are pretty close together. So, that's why we have been looking at Mounds, but we have also checked Cherokee.

Did anyone know that near Mounds there is a "wastewater treatment plant" and a "wood recycling plant"?

AirBourn, not doubting your hunting talents, just seeing if anyone else is on the same page re: "pyramids rise over the snow".

I hope the clue puts me where I think I should be. Then I'm out there immediately.

It was found in Cherokee park and nobody but you guys know because we have not yet reported it to the proper authorities. As for the e-mail address, it is made up and that is because we did not want to receive any replys. Sorry guys!:-(

people, it is not at mounds or cheerokee

Sun, 02/01/1998 - 11:06 PM Permalink
B.J. Mack

Listen people, the "double division" is what so clearly puts it at Cherokee. I don't know how many times I've said it, but for the benefit of those who've missed my rants....

Annapolis Street, which borders Cherokee Park, is the dividing line between St. Paul and West St. Paul and between Ramsey County and Dakota County. This is plainly the best "double division" you'll find. Much more clear than a tennis court or a basketball court, which is in almost any park and just has a bunch of lines on it, no clear double division.

If you still want to look at Mounds, go ahead.

Sun, 02/01/1998 - 11:06 PM Permalink
Dave

Well if you were on Harriet Island you would probably have to look over the snow to see pyramids of coal, but then that wouldn't fit.

All I know is that wherever that damn thing is listen to B.J. Mack those damn pyramids (whatever they are) somewhere in the distance will be visible and almost looking right at you over the snow. Good place to start, then look for groups of trees or major objects that may hold the medallion in the middle or line up a number of objects or an object points/hints to a direction in a subtle fashion and then so many paces of from there things like that, and don't stop till ya hit the ground.

Well, Mr. Freeman, the rules that "The finder of the Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt medallion can exchange the medallion

for $3,000 by immediately returning it to the Pioneer Press building, 345 Cedar Street,

St. Paul."

Note the Immediately.
