Patrick - We agree. Tomorrow's clue (tonights) is going to spell out Cherokee and that's it. Then we'll still be wondering where to dig. But it will bring in all those lost folks still looking at Mounds, Ivy, Beaver, Highland etc. I'm tired. Talk to you all later.

Sun, 02/01/1998 - 9:13 PM Permalink

I think you will be failing to get the medallion if you go to Phalen

Hey "The Woman and I", first, am I talking to "The Woman" or "I". Second, you're obviously not looking hard enough if you can't find another park that fits all the clues!

Long winded and crazy but why I think Highland Park...

Clue 8

There's no need to wander to and fro

Instead you should look near a place

Where three pyramids rise over the snow

3 pyramids - picnic table covers or drive on snelling

by hills and see the water towers in the background looking
like pyramids???

Clue 7

If you just don't know where to go

Here's a clue to aid your decision:

The medallion that promises lots of dough

Is near a line of double division.

dough - in bread bag, cookie or whatever - superamerica bakery across street?

Clue 6

For Friday, Jan. 30, 1998

If you're on the wrong track don't blow your stack

Just look for a plume of smoke in the skies

With this in view you'll soon be back

In the hunt for our valuable prize

loose translation

wrong track - running track across Montreal

plume of smoke/stack - old scmidt brewery in view

Clue 5

For Thursday, Jan. 29, 1998

We'd be the first to say that a place to play

Can make any winter more pleasurable

City streets will also show you the way

To riches that are almost immeasurable

loose translation

place to play - hockey arena, park, pool - track, = Highland

city streets - Montreal, and Rome

Clue 4

For Wednesday, Jan. 28, 1998

A large object in view will help guide you,

But first you'll have to crack our code.

So here's a demo of the mode to pursue,

As you hunt for the mother lode.

loose translation

large object in view/guide - old water tower with beacon

demo - mode = dome = 2 new water towers dome

Clue 3

For Tuesday, Jan. 27, 1998

Roses don't bloom in winter's gloom

But a "Rosebud" could still give pleasure.

So watch for a place where kids like to zoom,

And you just might take home our treasure.

loose translation

rosebud - sled

kids zoom - slidding - slidding hill at Highland

Clue 2

For Monday, Jan. 26, 1998

And lots of scenery all around
