The Pioneer Press medallion has been found. Details are at our Winter Carnival page.
The hunt's over, but the discussion rages on ...

Webmaster, sooo, they tell us here first, but the main page says nothing? And, I have NOT heard the cannon go off. That said... ALL, do they still sound the cannon (big bang) in downtown STP?
webmaster: I was just wondering about that. Thanks for making me laugh. I just realized that nobody bothered to check if my e-mail was valid when I registered for the Water Cooler. For future reference, ALL, "Casey Trauer" tends to post the official messages from Pioneer Planet. He uses a black-and-white image of an old man with his mouth open to represent himself.
This is a bunch of bull crap if u ask me. its still out there. on the main page of the winter carnival it hasnt said anything yet to be found im heading down there now to do some digging.
Alright, it's BS. Bee as in B, ESS as in S. I won't go into detail as it gets boring. But that post did NOT originate from the Ppress. Fingered! Still luck, damnit!
egg on my face...I think I wanted to believe it was found so I could say I was digging only a few feet from the hiding place (although I may yet be able to say that). Thanks for checking, Terry, and giving us all reason to continue blabbing on the Cooler.
Someone asked me while I was searching, "why do you have a GPS?". My response was "So I can PROVE I walked over it again!!!" $4000-$300=$3700...I'm still on the plus side, right? Sheeet, don't tell my wife.
By the way, Green and Cher incase you were wondering that is my real E-Mail address. Thought I should let you know with the little antics that have been played here tonight. Good night for real this time, and good luck I'll look for you on the News.
I was just down at the press and talked to a Mr. Troy, night security guard, and he confirmed that the medillion had NOT been found. The sign on the door still said that it hasn't been found either and that is usually the first thing they do. They will put up a sign stating when it IS found to officially tell unbelievers. Mr. Sax...I tried changing and deleting my e-mail address and it automatically puts my address in the blank. How can I delete this info? Or at least change it? Also, is there a way to go to previous messages by typing in a message number instead of paging back through 5000 messages to catch up on the days talk? You seem to know about this stuff. Thanks
Cher, Sax, Nat, et al... This puppy can't keep her eyes open any longer. I've not had more than 4 hours sleep since Wed nite - usually LESS!!! LOL!! Tomorrow is back to reality. (sigh)
Luck to all, hopefully someone here will find it. Then we'll have a party for those on the watercooler list, right? RIGHT? Please? We HAVE TOO if we find it! I'm in, yeah I said it, print it, but don't hold your breath. Cheers. And once again, best of luck to all.
Apparently many rumors floating around CP. Partner with cell phone says it's going around that the medallion may have been found. Says a group of 4 left in their car in a BIG hurry.
Cluemaster: I haven't tried changing my e-mail address here, but I assume it's possible from what greenslvs2 did. As for searching back through the posts, I simply click the "Search" button provided as a choice at the bottom of the most recent message on the page I'm viewing, and then I type in the text I'm looking for. This is particularly helpful when I want to find out when a particular person last posted and what they were thinking. I've been keeping a log of the more intelligent folks at this site because I started to find at about post #500 that not everybody looks at the history of the conversation before they post. Some are very courteous and helpful, some are just goofballs.
That happens all the time... people give up for the nite and then they decide since they are leavin anyway they might as well act like they found it.....
Thanks Greg for the info. Duh! Boy do I feel stupid. I'm going to fly up to CP and look where you talked about. To bad you had to go back to Millwaukee. Any ideas on to and fro? I was thinking swings?
Webmaster, sooo, they tell us here first, but the main page says nothing? And, I have NOT heard the cannon go off. That said... ALL, do they still sound the cannon (big bang) in downtown STP?
I don't think they sound the cannon anymore. At least that's what someone said about 2000 posts ago.
Haven't heard the cannon in years. They said they would post here as soon as the medallion is turned in. You can't believe everything you see!
Hi SAX, no luck? Join the crowd ;-/
p
am otta here fore the nite
No cannon? That explains why I'm the only one out the day after. Die hard? Or just starting early for next year? I pick the later explaination.
Untill later Bob!
p

Must apologize for the recent MDL Hunter notes confirming Web Master note #4416 -- that is, note #4416 may NOT be real.
Notice this note looks official too; but this note is not officially a Web Master from Pioneerplanet.
My advice is to keep looking for medallion -- it probably was NOT yet found.

Rereading clues, particlulary eight... (gotta ponder THAT!), you may be more "in line" than I am. But use the referece points I suggested.
