is it bad if i go to a army surplus store and dig for the medallion using a flame thrower? the only bad part i can think of if some small child gets in front of me and having to keep going back to super america to fill it up every 10 minutes.

JazzyBloom: Annapolis is thought to be one of the "city streets" and it also serves as a dividing line twice -- once to divide St. Paul from Mendota Heights, once to divide St. Paul from Lillydale (it also divides parts of Cherokee Park itself). SueBee: The top of the sledding hill sounds like a nice idea as long as you stay away from the hill itself. I don't think the medallion would be hidden somewhere that would ruin the kids' fun. Another silly idea about the "dome" theory my friends and I came up with was the actual sign at Annapolis and Cherokee Heights Blvd. that welcomes you to St. Paul has the capitol dome on it. A stretch but we dug around there anyway (then we built a 7' snowman that was obliterated by the time we went back a few hours later -- dem darn kids!)

I've been at CP 3 nights in a row. It's there but no way is anyony going to turn it up without more clues, the ice is too thick to cover enough ground. It needs to be pinpointed more, I think tonights clue will do this.

I saw that snowman-snowperson?

Greg Sax: I doubt if kids knocked it down, probably hunters :)

It's at CP but the ice is so thick that until they pinpoint it exactly, I don't think it will turn up. I've been there 3 nights in a row and when I was digging I noticed that in about 30 minutes of digging I could only cover about 5 square feet.

Here is your clue to find her: the coat, her skin(not literally) and the truck are the opposite color of the snow (she's both cute and married).

tomski: um, yeah, I guess it was more of a "snowperson." we got a little silly with it. all in good fun.

Someone last night thought it might be in an Altoids container because it had a rose bush on it. I looked more closely. It's not a rose bush, it's a mint plant that has flowered. However, if the medallion is shaped like this year's button, it would be perfect.

Or could it be in a bread bag or some frozen bread?

Jen, if you hit your refresh or reload button before anyone else has posted a message after you, it will re-publish your message.

I kind of like the bread bag idea the best so far. We'll see..

They wouldn't put it in something metal - too easily found by a metal detector. But then, no one uses metal detectors anymore since the medallion has been made of plastic. Ya just never know what they're going to do with it. For god's sake, it's been in concrete before!

Why do u people say a bread bad? just curious

Mon, 02/02/1998 - 11:28 AM Permalink
Up North George

The medallion is round and made of clear plastic with a bluish tinge to it. Probably would not fit in altoids box and even if it could they wouldn't put it in there because the box is metal!Everybody screamed a few years back cause people went high tech and started using metal detectors!!1

Metal--probably not attached to a Pace Picante cover then either. But I kind of like the Pace idea. Maybe just a frozen block of picante sauce :)

Rob, clue 7 says "the medallion that promises lots of dough". We thought it might be in a bread bag or some kind of bakery item. Or maybe they're talking about Baker St. nearby.

would the medalion fit in a Pillbury dough container?

It might, Mark. Sounds like a possibility since they often put it in something white too.

was talking to a fellow searcher yesterday and he said that the 3rd or 4th clue has always been ( in the past) what the medallion was packed in--it could be in a rose package--or something like that --i think that the dough refers to baker street...

suebee-- we should pull an all nighter tonite, what do you think-- also the water and woods, what about chippewa street??? water???

I think it may be on the bottom of one of those "snow globes" because in Citizen Kane thats what he dropped when he muttered "Rosebud" and all the reporters tried to figure out it's meaning just like we are doing right now.....

Other great camouflage: White Castle hamburger box; as filling for Oreo cookie. Mean camouflage: taped between leaves; stuck inside of a real snowball; buried beneath ice; magnetized and stuck under a mailbox. SueBee: I'm with you on sharing good ideas. Those of us that have been lounging by the Cooler since early on would like to see a fellow Water Cooler pal find it...so long as they mention how the Cooler was a help to them. All agree that we don't want to see another "oh, I just stopped and looked for a few minutes and there it was" story?
