It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.

MushieW---I think the key is YEARNING!!! This is a big year, and they are not going to be that obvious. Get it.
ok im not going to give the specific spot because me and my friends are going out there tonight at 1200 is all i can tell you is it is guarded by brush and many trees
with a small sign. If you see the sleding/skiing hill your gonna be close but not close enough. hey phone guy thank you very much in proving that iconoclast means
Has anyone been to Newell today??? Were there a lot of people there? I went by Como today just to take a peak at the tiny snow slide and I saw some mis-guided
souls trying to find the medallion there...some people really suprise me with their lack of common sense.
Aireal Phone Guy That definition of Iconoclast you have is different from the one in my Random House Websters, It says...a person who attacks cherished beliefs of
tradition institutions. Religion is not mentioned specifically there.
How about Newell....I swear it has got to be there...I am going now...I will find it...when they put my name in the paper I am going to make sure they include my
water cooler handle Dingdong Didillydias!!! I WILL RETURN TRIUMPHANT!!!
I am on the phone with my sister while I am typing this and with all this devil talk her head is spinning around... and she is spitting up green pea soup...and she is
I think it is at Beaver Lake park...(Note: I am trying to mis-lead the not so bright treasure hunters so I don't have to compete with as many people tonight)...all the
clues point to it. The streets around it are Ninth Ave., Fifth St., and 4 St., and the address of the rec. center is 495 Smith Ave. There is a golf course and a sledding
hill on the opposite side of the lake and satan lives in a shed in the woods near by, oh and there is a school at the bottom of the lake...it fell in during a hurricane in
My problem is not where I should go to look for the treasure...my problem is that I haven't got a thing to wear for a friday night full of treasure hunting!!
The Rock-I think the alley by Devils den is called devils alley because I know this girl that lives right by Newell and she talked about it. At that point I thoght she was
crazy, but I guess now it turn out she isn't so crazy!
I think the medallion is not even hidden yet. With all the hoopla about the $10,000 reward they don't want that publicity to die off to early in the Carnival. When you
get into the medallion hunt you are more likely to participate in other WC events. I think they are going to hide the medallion when there are about three clues left so
that the tension and excitement will continue to build throughout the carnival. Make sense to anyone????
ok, well in clue # 4 it states "but there's VALUE as WELL as IN the NEW." VALUE=medallion/location IN NEWELL. The 9 5 4 thing is that you can see the
ks95 radio tower from devils den. 94.5 is the radio station number. iconoclast means to turn away or disbeliefe of religious images/culture. which would be no better
then THE DEVIL such as devils den in the park. Also a tome refers not only as a book but as a devils pitchfork. which would then mean no better then the location
of devils den. Then the letters in all the clues so far spell out SAINTS F which would then most likely spell out saints fan which would mean the midway stadium that
can also be seen from Devils Den. Everything points strongly to this location. what do u guys/girls think about that???!!!
The medallion is hidden--Pioneer Press would not risk the tradition of the hunt by getting cute for this one. After all, wouldn't it be difficult to keep writing these clues
without a specific place in mind? And if someone has already searched there, PP is busted!
First of all they have a specific place in mind. They will place it there as soon as they get all the publicity they need. When it was hidden at Como thousands of
people searched in the field it was hidden in before it was found, so if someone finds it where someone else had looked they would think that they just came very
close...they wouldn't think/realize that it wasn't even there at the time.
First of all...the FIRST meaning to iconoclast is one who seeks to overthrow traditional or popular ideas or institutions...this is what they mean! And out with the
old...in with the new....I can not find any meaning of devils pitchfork for the word tome. ?? What about the man of fame??? how does Newell Park relate to that??
MushieW---I think the key is YEARNING!!! This is a big year, and they are not going to be that obvious. Get it.

Nick East...we YEARN for KNOWLEDGE!!!!! Get it?

Hmmmm

I have a friend who is convinced that the medallion is at Battle Creek park every year until it is found somewhere else.
Does any one have any idea where it is?
yes and if that is one of the definitions of iconoclasts then that would mean of someone turning away God!!!! How much better then THE DEVIL!!!
I think it is buried underneath the Giant Snow Slide...lets go tear that thing apart. JK
For previous years clues, go to www.coolercrew.com.
Nick East- What is your yearning idea?
The key to clue number 4 is out with the old in with the new....it will not be at any park where it was before!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How about Newell....I swear it has got to be there...I am going now...I will find it...when they put my name in the paper I am going to make sure they include my
water cooler handle Dingdong Didillydias!!! I WILL RETURN TRIUMPHANT!!!
hey does Saint Francis have any connections to any of the parks??
But we are certainly running out of parks, if the virgin park theory holds true.
it might be saint francis but im thinking more of saints fan because you can see midway stadium from devils den
I am on the phone with my sister while I am typing this and with all this devil talk her head is spinning around... and she is spitting up green pea soup...and she is
yelling REDRUM! REDRUM! LOL!!!
As for the Saint Francis thing, there is a St. Francis school in STP
yes there is a st francis school but it is named st.francis st james united. I went there.

1876.
No park by St. Francis!
STP??
BEAVER LAKE PARK!!! Go there now...I am too tired so I will not be able to go, so please go there and find it for me.
all right if you wanna hear my theory about Newell park just sa so and i will tell you.
Sorry Finders Keepers.....STP = St. Paul--saves typing on the laptop.
PRIVATE SCHOOL BOY...I have been out of there for nearly four years but I still have not crossed over to the dark side.
Thats okay ... I am just new at this ... but i love it
Please tell me your theory Rock
Hey Dingo Man...are you still there? Ok ROCK please tell me your theory....thanks!!! Hey Ding Dong the witch is dead!! Hahahaha!!
My problem is not where I should go to look for the treasure...my problem is that I haven't got a thing to wear for a friday night full of treasure hunting!!
Why is it so quiet in here all of the sudden...arggghhhhh.
The Rock-I think the alley by Devils den is called devils alley because I know this girl that lives right by Newell and she talked about it. At that point I thoght she was
crazy, but I guess now it turn out she isn't so crazy!
Sure wish it was 11:30!!!
Why isn't it in Como Park
I think the medallion is not even hidden yet. With all the hoopla about the $10,000 reward they don't want that publicity to die off to early in the Carnival. When you

It is going to be hidden in Newell park in about 4 or 5 days.
.

Ding Dong...ring the bell! Wake up!! That would be a unlawful move on their part! FRAUD!!! No way diddly!! But I still like you!

How bout Highland Park?
Dad did you figure it out.?????? #3.JRR
MushieW---I think the key is YEARNING!!! This is a big year, and they are not going to be that obvious. Get it.
They wouldn't be busted...
