1999 Pioneer Press Medallion Hunt

Submitted by Casey Trauer on

It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.

Went to friendsoftheparks.org. Taylor park is only 4 acres. Not much there except a skating rink and some trails. It's definitely not there!

If we have the cross streets, I can find it.

So on Cheers - playing in the other room, they are into location, location, location....seems that that's what we're talking about here.

As I've told you all before-BC holds answers to ALL the clues. The next clue will confirm it. Trust the Fireman...

Here's some more stuff I got outta the clues... The following all refer to base/softball:

game, home, full, out, four, shout, winning, caught

Again, DON'T CUT ME OFF AT THE KNEES!!! Ittiz hard enuff to walk as ittiz!!!

To *me* the above has gotta mean something - so many baseball words. Izz there a "Twins" street??? Yea, I know, dumb idea... Just trying word association here.

Too... If you wanna hit Highland... Tome and home rhyme with and are just one letter off'a "Rome" - a street near Highland...

Yust food fur thought... Noodling stuff...

Terry- Taylor Park is located at Oakridge and Fir Street. It is a very residential park. I liked it because Taylor was the president 150 years ago. But park is very

small. No parking lot. Directions: Mcknight to Burlington Road (West) to Howard to Oakridge. LOL!!

bldg across street from play ground has 995 on it.....also there is a home on forest 954 address.......clear ave disecects the ice arena johnson high & crosses forest

& cypress...also several other tree streets e.g. orange hyacinth, hawthorne(famous name),

ball fields, hockey rink & (FIGURE) rink, & golf course for some where a four(fore).........what better street for trees in line than the famous wheelock pkwy new

trees now... (not 20 years ago). think iconoclast refers to what it might be found in.

Green - I'm sure that if all the game refs are intentional, then the ** Name** we're looking for is Ruth (Babe), and we are right back at Battle Creek.

Holly Wood

Hey there Gang!!!

Spent a bunch o' time at Highland with Pablo today (during and after the DISC golf tourney for DISCerning golfers....)

Tourney didn't interfere with hunting - originally tossed out Highland because of concurrence with tourney - now sure that it didn't come into play at all.....

Many good possible hiding spots, tried to dig away from '94 and '86 medallion sites and had a good time enjoying the weather, company.

HamLINE is intersected by (trees) BEECHwood, PINEhurst and JUNIPER - a possible tie in to last night's clue....

For now,

Little Monkey...Orchard Ave intersects Lexington about a mile and a half north of i94. Take a right and go about 8 blocks and the park is on the left. It is small park

with two ball fields a sliding hill and ice rink. The railroad tracks border the north side of the park.OK?
