Submitted by Casey Trauer on

It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.

Last night we dug for a while and then scooted downtown for the paper at 11:30. When the clue just pointed to Conway we called it a night. The same gameplan

again tonight.

We're meeting up at or near the corner at Ruth and Conway between 11 and 11:30. We have someone calling with the clue.

Some of you are right that we're trying to read too much into the clues, but after so mnay hours of unsuccessful digging, after so many promising theories thrown by

the wayside by reality, most of us are just trying to find something to grab on to. Something to rekindle our hope, something that will allow us to put our sore muscles

out of our mind and help us steel ourselves against the cold. For without a theory, no matter how ridiculous, the dream is dead.

Here's the scoop on the Conway name thing: Conway Twitty is really not a crooner... anyone agree with that? Check out #15521... anyone think that has any truth

to it? PIE: tons of diggers @ Conway?

There are MANY parts of the park that have not been dug up. Just trampled over. I was there at 11:00 this morning, and there was no place to park then! It must be

CRAZY now!!!

Conway is not all dug up. On the southwest corner behind the backstop along ruth up to the gray house has yet to be hardly touched

Don't worry donut man, it is a running (and lame) gag.

Terry, I will be wearing my (stretched out) Cooler Crew T-Shirt over my jacket. Hope to see you there.

Conway Twitty is one of the best country western singers of all time! How could he NOT be a crooner?

Isn't that the southwest corner of Ruth with the backstop?

All right, I'm out of here, but I'll be at Conway 'tween 11 and 11:30. Should probably leave now just to find a parking space. I gotta think of something white to

wear...

Everyone remember that 3 years ago when the medallion was at Harriet Island, the final clue came out and said exactly where the medallion was, I was there with

about 2000 other people, everything was dug up, yet the medallion was NOT found that night. The next morning three guys found it. If you think Conway is

completely dug up you are WRONG. The medallion is alomost for sure at Conway and we just need to be dilligent about it......

my sister said they are not even letting people drive on conway street anymore, and that the police were all over, and that they had people there selling food !!!!!!!!

This is just amazing !!!!!!

Just because there is a rec center, doesn't mean it is not a park. The rec center is the building, the fields are the park. Cherokee was all dug up too, but not where the

medallion was found.

I told you has beens and wannabees where it was five days ago!!!! I also told you that it won't be found until wed. night or thurs. day morn....

Now why doesn't everybody just go home and sh$t, shave, and SHOWER, take along rest until tommorrow night, and I wiil hang out at the park and make sure

everything is safe and secure!!!!! How bout it? Now get your tired, smelly, pathetic asses home and take care of yourselves.

I LOVE YA,,, now GET OUTA HERE ya KNucleheads!!!

To my followers:....I will find it and when I do we're going to MEXICO for three weeks!!!!!!!!!! When we get there we'll raise a toast to all of you non-believers and

we'll say hey "how's it going" while you guys are still walking around in a stupor at highland and como diggin your lives away.

It reminds me of the japanese who were out on islands and didn't believe the war was over until 2 years after it was!!!!!!!!

G & B...Makes you wonder why no one ever finds it until the very end. To buy more papers of course! No. I'm not saying that it won't get hidden until

Thursday...not at all :-p.

Maybe they don't really hide the medallion until one of the last two days. That's why people are always at the exact spot and then someone finds it the next day!

Orient, as it has been suggested, gives the direction of *east*. Don't know if they'll go that way again. They are most likely to start giving out details regarding

paces, yards, feet, etc. Remember, we have only 2 clues left. . .

Treasure Hunters: The medallion is hidden at a park, not on the Highland water tower or Rondo Education Center grounds.

This is from the front page of the Pioneer Planet.

My wife is way out there... She says the first letter of every line in clue 7 s,i,f,t stand for second base, infield, first and third. just something to think about. I think we

must sift through alot of bs.

The orient clue gave two big things to keep an eye out for...so I think the orient is just a word. If anything it refers to an eastside park, IMHO.

I cannot believe how many people are at Conway, I live here and it feels like a regular 3 ring circus!!!!!!!!!!

Tue, 02/02/1999 - 8:53 PM Permalink

Jackie - Where are they letting people park? Can you tell?

Tue, 02/02/1999 - 8:54 PM Permalink
MJ

Also, they are saying Park because it is a word in the clue(s) as well as . . . since they are giving out 10 Grand, they are NOT likely to say Park and Recreation

They want to keep the 10 Grand as long as they can!!!! Wouldn't you???!!!

I think it will start to clear out now due to the fact that many of them are children that have to go school tomorrow and that the next clue is soon to come.
