Regalman, do you know what other parks have tracks. I was thinkin that the airplane overhead thing could be tough because dont all parks have that?

Everyone needs to erase the thought that Phalen Park has anything to do with Maplewood. St. Paul Parks and Rec. has total respons. for Phalen. The portion of the park land that lies in Maplewood is under the Ramsey County Parks Dept. jurisdiction---NOT MAPLEWOOD! This has been a bad bit of info that seems to be stuck in people's minds for the last few years.

Maplewood doesn't want it in any of their parks--this has nothing to do with the Regional parks that Ramsey county has control of

how bout an ACE hardware next to a park. I can't think of any though

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:35 AM Permalink
Allison Wonderland

What kind of racing at Phalen?

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:35 AM Permalink
George_Y2G_

didnt they used to race cars on the ice at Phalen

I mean my thoughts were...how does the clues relate to the Ford Plant

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:37 AM Permalink
Green and Blac…

Car racing, they race cars on the the lake.

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:38 AM Permalink
wrightwinger

racing on the lake in the winter, but theirs barly any land to hide it on other than the golf course. true ramsey country runs the park, but A. dosnt have to be a st.paul city park now? and B.maplewood thereatened with a lawsuet once after a year at lakefield. so i dont think they'd risk it. its defintly not mounds, with someone suggest, cuz natives were outraged in 87, and they were banned from their.

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:39 AM Permalink
Green and Blac…

I know they run a lot of races on River Road.. and that is by Crosby.. and Hidden Falls..

Just Noodling

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:40 AM Permalink
Allison Wonderland

There is such a thing as an Ace driver. And if you were racing a car on ice, setting your own pace could be a good strategy. Is that a Winter Carnival event?

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:40 AM Permalink
Basic Dig

car racing on ice is scheduled for 5-6 Feb. on Phalen lake-

The ice harvesting is finished as of this evening-it was done for the ice maze at Como--Area is not even close to where they race the cars.

There's an Ace hardware store right by Conway 1/2 block

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:41 AM Permalink
Green and Blac…

There is only a tiny part that is located in Maplewood.. that being the upper corner..... There is a lot of room, to hid it across by the baseball fields.. (phalen)

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:41 AM Permalink
wrightwinger

hmm, this has the same weird aabab ryme pattern as clue 1b. me thinks something weird. but anywho, chace, pace, ace, all things involving autos or planes.

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:41 AM Permalink
Green and Blac…

You think Conway again???? LOL

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:42 AM Permalink
Allison Wonderland

WW, all the clues last year had that same rhyme pattern so its not that odd really.

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:43 AM Permalink
Regalman

I don't think phalen cuz it was at bc and conway within last few years. They usually move it around the city more.

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:43 AM Permalink
Snow Lifter

so does anyone have any more ideas besides statue for astute?

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:44 AM Permalink
Green and Blac…

Wise for Astute

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:45 AM Permalink
Snow Lifter

Wright Wringer.....it might not have anything to do with Auto's....It could be someone on foot doing these activities too

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:45 AM Permalink
Allison Wonderland

It says "grasp of these clues" plural. Is it a hint referring to something running through all the clues?

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:46 AM Permalink
Snow Lifter

Thank you Green and Black Hunter....I thought so... :)

im only noticing it went form a ABAB to a AABAB. but im wondering what this clue refers too, does battlecreek have tennis courts?

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:47 AM Permalink
Basic Dig

wright winger--are you saying there isn't much land to hind the medallion on in Phalen?

Maplewood would have ZERO grounds for a lawsuit-they control NO PART of Phalen Park

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:48 AM Permalink
Regalman

Someone ont the other board said in a Ace bandage, but I think it's too early for that. The 4th or 5th clue usually reveals what it's in.

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:48 AM Permalink
Allison Wonderland

Looks like BC does have tennis courts.

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:48 AM Permalink
wrightwinger

NEWEL, NEW CENTURY, if any drives down pierce butler regually youll notice that you give chase and pace, cuz its the best speeding ground in the city.

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:49 AM Permalink
Green and Blac…

ACE could mean a CARD as in DECK of.... I looked at Phalen last year, there is a lot of room there.... Lot more then Conway...

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:49 AM Permalink
Snow Lifter

It said MAKE you an ACE.....not Hiding in an Ace.... heheheh

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:50 AM Permalink
wrightwinger

hmm battlecreek, its only been used twice.

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:50 AM Permalink

Do trains have anything with aces?

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:50 AM Permalink
Allison Wonderland

Trains with aces? Not any I can think of.

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:51 AM Permalink
Green and Blac…

Could be on an ACE of any suite.... Trains Nope.. None that i can Think of...

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:51 AM Permalink

Regalman....no

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:51 AM Permalink

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:53 AM Permalink
Regalman

Hey Allison don't you live near Newell

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:53 AM Permalink
Green and Blac…

To much Hype.. last year about newell just dont' think it will be there.

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:54 AM Permalink
Snow Lifter

The question is:

Does anyone really have a keen grasp on the clues??

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:55 AM Permalink
Green and Blac…

Could ACE mean one and refering to the first year it was hidding at?

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:55 AM Permalink
Snow Lifter

Last year when anyone ever mentioned Newell they were trying to make hunters search in parks where they shouldn't be....same went with Mounds Park when it was at Cherokee

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:56 AM Permalink
MIKEK

IF THE GATES ARE OPEN AFTER 10PM AT PHALEN IT WILL BE THERE THATS HOW YOU TELL IF IT'S THERE OR NOT

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:57 AM Permalink
Allison Wonderland

I live by Como, though not THAT far from Newell, though I've never been to Newell.

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:57 AM Permalink
Regalman

MIKEK, how do you figure? The parks and rec dept don't know where it is at either. They will lock the gates anyway

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:58 AM Permalink
Allison Wonderland

I don't know if anyone at the park really knows that its there, or that they should do anything differently.

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:58 AM Permalink
Regalman

Just curious, cuz I though you could tell where I lived last year from my explanation of Newell, but can't remember if it was you

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:59 AM Permalink
MIKEK

THEY CANT LOCK THE GATES DO TO ALL THE TRAFFIC THAT WOULD BE FLOWING IN AND OUT

Mon, 01/24/2000 - 12:59 AM Permalink
Basic Dig

MIKE K-- gates were locked at hidden falls up until the last night.

no one in parks dept knows where it is-pp just ask permission to hide it on city property
