Actually, when I was at the big U ten years ago, I attended a seminar on becoming an actuary! Then, I realized that my attention span is that of an overcaffeinated 5 year old, and that dream died.
hmm. i actually know someone there who is going down that road, dave. of course, she's from milwaukee, and cheers for the packers, so that might have something to do with it :) cj, if you're reading this (and i doubt you are), j/k
Sorry Crazy--I go to football games (I bleed maroon and gold, and bleed a lot), in Minneapolis, but I haven't done the club scene since I was a college lad 10 years ago. After living in southeast and south Minneapolis for years, I moved to St.Paul and I LOVE St. Paul--weeks go by before I leave the city limits sometimes.
Ares,as far as I know you can post here, shoot the breeze, wherever,I take this as a public forum and post whatever I like, whenever I like. There are some who don't like it but what the heck......I figure as far as this goes they do keep this board open all year round and there are very few posters here after the hunt.....I personally like to go to encounters with bears......:)LOL
ok, i don't really cheer for the badgers. i just say stuff like that to see how fired up i can get people. works well, too. college football for some reason just hasn't caught my attention the way pro does. though that will change if we start having more games as uneventful as the superbowl was. :)
scribe, fill me in. i'm reading through this encounters with bears forum, had you and thx hooked up back in oct 99 when the joes started moving over there? just curious.
Not very close - except I'm sure I walked by it. I was not convinced it was in the picnic grounds. I had some different theories. How close did you come, Dave?
About 30 yards. I thought it was closer to the play equipment than it was. It was really serendipity that put me there in the first place. Parking was tight around the whole park, so I parked on Beulah. I walked through the West picnic ground on the way to where I was going to dig, and things just clicked. So, my noodling ability was poor, but I at least recognized the site as I passed through, so I guess I get to keep my hunter's credentials.
Yeah, Ares, you are probably right--I was there from about 11:00 to 1:00, and then I had an urge to go see the Polar Bears. After that it was 1:30, and I needed to get to my buddy's place for the big game--if you don't call the good couch early, you get that chair in the corner.
upon futher reflection, I should have taken the chair
ares- Do you ever go to Banana Joes In Downtown Minneapolis?
Actually, when I was at the big U ten years ago, I attended a seminar on becoming an actuary! Then, I realized that my attention span is that of an overcaffeinated 5 year old, and that dream died.

G'night all!
Minneapolis...thats not in my Treasure Hunters Guide.........hhhhhhmmmmmmmmmm
night scribe. answer my question first, though :)
Ares: Since the PP left this board up from last year, I guess it's probably gonna be here a while longer.
But to answer your question, I'd say a couple days after the reHash Bash would be an appropriate time to move. IMHO
there is something about a minneapolis in the guide. i swear i read it. ahh. that's it. steve was born there. my mind is eased now :)
My last girlfriend was a lovely girl from Wisconsin. It didn't work--couldn't raise the kids in a mixed marriage.
suppose when (if?) they make it disappear they don't give us much of a choice
lol dave. i bleed maroon and gold, but only for hockey games. not much of a gopher football fan. (go badgers :)

I'll bite--What is the best thing to come out of WI?
94.
Not very close - except I'm sure I walked by it. I was not convinced it was in the picnic grounds. I had some different theories. How close did you come, Dave?
was closer than i'd liked to have been after seeing the map in the paper tuesday. :)

I still say if you're in the right park, that's half the battle. There have been some years that was not the case.
yeppers terry.
I agree Terry. There have been times where I just have my reasons to be digging elsewhere.
Like when they hide it outside St. Paul.
dave, i'd put that number closer to 500+
I hope they think twice before putting the hunt and the rest of those activities at the same spot again.
