giddyup back again...greenslvs2. What's in your name? Do you have green sleeves or do you just like the song? Has anyone else been hunting for 20 odd years? I remember hunting (first time) in the late 70s at mounds park. Back then the med was hidden almost anywhere. You think the carnage at CP was bad...back in the old days the parks were completely demolished. Gotta love the net for letting medophiles like ourselves get together and talk about it (aside from staring at each other during the hunt). Anyone else feel a little bit nostalgic?

Well, Terry, you've said it here. I've a gut feeling that some bean counter at the PP is gonna go thru this w/a fine tooth comb. Think the lawyer's have a go at it too, just to be on the safe side!!! LOL!!!
I think we're strongly on record... and I think it mite come to pass. Think we may have to push it a bit... maybe do studies, prove the worth, etc., but if not this coming year (and I'd be surprised if it didn't happen), but in the very near future... I think we'll have logoed wear.
At least I'm gonna keep pushing for it. :) What the heck do I have to do for the next 12 months?????

It was a really strange scene at Cherokee Park at 6:00 pm. About four hours earlier, the blue puck had been found. I'm sure that as the news spread, the park cleared out rather fast. When I arrived, to get a look at the "magic" spot,I was hit with the ultimate in contrasts. For the previous five days, I had accepted the cars, the crowd, the noise...THIS shocked me. A couple cars on Chippewa Ave. and about 8 people at "the spot". Vacant, quiet, eerie...Piles of frozen, chopped, ice/snow/grass/dirt/branches/etc...The only thing I can compare it to is the movie "Woodstock"...at the end when you see the empty, trashed field that a day before had been a vibrant, lively scene...Kinda sad, but the Park will recover and on Sunday February 8th a new tradition will begin...the Cooler Crew re-Hash Bash. Some day we'll all be in the movies.

Your proposed autonomy in the Cooler next year will never work and, come that time, I will make it my sole objective to rain on that parade. Pishposh poppycock rubbish to you. Don't eat the yellow snow at the Cherokee Potluck.

Hey there ATBFontana - how are ya? Are you named after D.C. Fontana - frequent writer for and supposed co-creator of the original Star Trek?
Or are you an anagram for BATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms)? The Michigan Militia referred to BATF as BATFAG (apparently FA for firearms but I haven't figured out what the G is for).
Are you a FAG pal? Do you bugger young boys? Did you ever get greased in prison? Tell me your sad tale and you may get some sympathy...

Hi to water cooler crew. I still have been trying to keep up with of the messages. Steve and I did meet some of you at the park. We were in just as many places as all of you. What a DIG! I'm still sore and a little busy. Had a good nights sleep and just been trying to keep up with everything. The C. R. on the tree just looked like it might of been around somewhere near. Thanks for all the nice messages. We will try to be there on sunday. Will be in parade on Sat. night. Bye for now Maureen

Just out of curiosity, did the two that found the medallion dig it up in "undug" snow, or did they find it in snow that had already been torn up, clumps of ice, etc.?
Greg Sax - 03:17pm Feb 6, 1998 CST (#7750 of 8458)
Wow.....it was like hearing from royalty.
Greg Sax - 03:18pm Feb 6, 1998 CST (#7751 of 8458)
Should have asked her while you had the chance GG.
Maureen Hursey - 03:19pm Feb 6, 1998 CST (#7752 of 8458)
Steve was digging in snow. He hit the snow pack once, and it sounded rather funny. Not like a regular dig. So he hit it again and there it was.
Greg Sax - 03:26pm Feb 6, 1998 CST (#7755 of 8458)
Maureen: If you're still around...do you get to keep a replica of the medallion or anything like that or do they just give you a check and send you on your way? I've always thought that they should give the finders something simple but classy that could be displayed at home.
Also, I've seen the pic of you and your brother that's up on the Web. Do they take other photos of you with Fortunado and shaking the mayor's hand and stuff like that. Frankly, that Fortunado dude scares the bejeezus out of me. I think you have to sit on the float with him. Ewww...

giddy: I was the first and ONLY purrson to take AllieGo's idea of name tags all the way to the screen printers. Now, I ask you - what do you think I think??? I think the PP is gonna jump on this like a cat on a grasshopper!!! Almost every adult and quite a few of the kids said they'd purchase logoed wear. As I write, I can hear it being discussed about the PP as to the merit of it.
Wouldn't have been a viable idea five years ago... No Net. Now, however, we've The Cooler - which is not only a great equalizer, but brings together so many different people from different walks of life, and then - makes us equal in our one mutual goal.
I could go on, but I think you may get my drift. I *really* think the PP will take this as far as they can. Hope they choose green!!!!!!!!!!
Just think of the possible withdrawl symptoms here...11 days of staring at the water cooler page, sifting through the hundreds of missed messages in the middle of the nite. This has become routine! How long is the WC going to be around? Perhaps the PP could leave it as a year round addition to Pioneer Planet...maybe it already is...
greenslvs2 - 10:10pm Feb 4, 1998 CST (#7484 of 8458)
Don't think so, Hick, even as much as I would like to see it happen. Thing is with something like the Cooler - it's *supposed* to be just one giant thread.
Hypothetically, threads are not supposed to break down, i.e., get off the topic. (That's why they're called threads!!) But even in an excellent thread like the Med Cooler - wandering occurs. For example, this entire post of mine is "off the thread" here as it better belongs under a title of "Thread Discussion" than "Discussing Clues."
So, given that understanding... and that it's only been approximately eight hours since the Med's been found and that this [Med] thread has almost totally gone off thread... I doubt this Cooler will be open much longer. The PP is gonna need the space for other topics.
We're hoping they'll keep it open until Sunday nite, or maybe Monday or Tuesday so that we're able to post about the Re-Hash Bash and let folks access it... But, don't know. Space is very valuable on a server.

FYI,
I won't be closing this discussion until it really slows down, then I'll move it to the "Old Discussions" folder. If some of you wish for a general discussion area just to chat with folks, I'd be receptive to that. Just e-mail me.
By the way, PioneerPlanet will be featuring chat rooms real soon. Sorry we couldn't get it operational for the medallion hunt.
Casey T: An admirable job on the Med cooler all-around. Take a night off and get wild! Give us the email for the top dog and we'll put you in for a MEDal -- (I couldn't resist that one.. ;^) )
Gray Beard - 11:34pm Feb 4, 1998 CST (#7513 of 8458)
I just wanted to say that I've lived in Minnesota for only four years now and have never been interested in looking for the medallion until I stumbled upon the Water Cooler.
You guys are real entertaining and are so committed to finding the medallion, that it is catchy... I will definitely be back next year and hopefully be able to add to the deciphering of the clues.
Me Dal Leon Hunter: Drop me a line from time to time, need to make sure I still have a hunting partner for next year...
As for the Cooler gear, it would be cool to have the year printed on it. That way you could show the grandkids every year that you participated...

I haven't posted in a while, and many of my fellow regulars may not even get a chance to read this, but I wanted to at least send a shout out to my Water Cooler brethren. Maybe some of you will check back in the morning just to see what people could possibly be talking about. So here's something to read:
I love my hometown and I particularly love how we get together for a harmless little dig in the park. Thanks to this medium and the people that made up its core forum, I was able to feel very close to the excitement even when I was 300 miles away. I've adjusted to my new home in Milwaukee, but you folks rekindled my deep respect for St. Paul and proved that you can still have a small-town, friendly feel in a major league city. We're basically all strangers with an odd obsession for little blue plastic coins. To some, that may be the kind of group to stay away from, but here we helped each other enjoy the hunt and made an effort to find each other in the real world (something most computerheads don't do). Rarely did someone turn this into a farce. We stayed on topic and all seem to have had a lot of fun. I know I did.
I got so wrapped up in the frenzy that I made an impromptu visit to St. Paul last Friday night just so I could get my neck out in the field and my shovel deep in the snow. I'm glad I did because when I came back to Milwaukee and we all knew it was at Cherokee I could stay in the conversation because I'd seen the 3 pyramids, I walked down the sledding hill, and I'd "traipsed" around the park "to and fro." Saturday night I parked the car on Chippewa just a few yards back from Wyoming. Of course, I went digging completely in the wrong direction, but I was there, and that's the next best thing to finding it. The people I know here in Milwaukee don't understand this sort of thing, but they're not supposed to. Heck, the people over in Minneapolis aren't even supposed to understand it. It's a St. Paul thing and it will be part of me no matter where I am.
I wish I could join you on Sunday, but I'm afraid another trip back so soon isn't possible. Take care, all. Remember your handles for next year. Casey said we may be able to chat by then. That sure could be less frustrating when the server's strained, but I hope it doesn't keep us from expressing complete thoughts. I tend to avoid chat rooms because of the ridiculous one-liners like "who's there?" and "really? me, too." I have faith that we're all above that. Peace out.

Hello ! What do I do now? Reading all the overnight posts was part of my "pre-work" routine. Anyway, random thoughts...I didn't get to "hear the locusts" (Greg) And you just about had the timing nailed down (It was a little bit after noon.) My 11 year old son and I were fighting over "computer time" because we both wanted to read everyone's thoughts. The clues were "picked apart" very well here, thanks to the variety of ideas. Casey: an important part of this forum was the chance to read over all the posts that we had missed. I don't think that would be possible with a chat room. If anyone would like their e-mail address posted on my web site please let me know
Mr. Know It All - 09:20am Feb 5, 1998 CST (#7530 of 8458)
I'm extremely impressed with all of you!!!! Last year on this posting board we had about 400 postings! This year we had over 7500 WOW! Good job of communication to lead the lucky duo that found it to the spot. I'd expect even more clue solving posts next year!!!!! Greg Sax hang in there, one of these years it will be our turn
Tom Heikkila - 09:41am Feb 5, 1998 CST (#7534 of 8458)
Hello everyone. My congratulations to the finders. The newspaper article mentioned that Steve attributed the finding of the medallion to "dumb luck", hogwash! Steve, you had a plan that was solid and fit the clues, you executed that plan and worked hard and got rewarded. You also read the clues right. Though not way off in reading the clues, I did tend to put too much into some of the words and phrases. Congrats to the PPMCC, you all have made this a fun year to hunt. I enjoyed reading most of the posts, I wish some would have gone away, and overall was impressed by the ability to share ideas even though it could help someone else find the treasure. I hope to see you all on Sunday. Finally, thanks to the clue writers that kept us up all night racking our brains to figure out what they were telling us, you did a great job.
Greg Sax - 11:08am Feb 5, 1998 CST (#7543 of 8458)
Can't seem to stop hitting the "Recent" button every now and again. Glad to see many of you are still sharing thoughts. There's nothing wrong with a little postmortem. The good thing about the "death" that comes with the medallion find is that it's reborn every year.
I had a chance to read Jim Walsh's article on the finders of the medallion. I especially liked how Maureen Hursey said she locked herself in the truck with the medallion. What a nice moment that must've been. I also like how she thought her brother was kidding her in a sibling kind of way even though they're both in their 30s. Very nice. I haven't been this happy for the finders since Battle Creek.
I'll keep clickin' through until I hear how the shindig went on Sunday. I'll see if I can't get a couple of friends to go in my place. They hung around the Water Cooler with me when I was in town last weekend and were completely into it. Until I came home nobody was digging.....on Saturday night there were 8 of us. Part of that is thanks to the motivational waters of the Water Cooler.
Hey, I got a new motto for the PPMCC. Something catchy, retro, and easy to put on a button:
Greg Sax - 12:26pm Feb 5, 1998 CST (#7551 of 8458)
greenslvs2: My guess is you don't really need a head count. Just from reading past posts, it sounds like you'll have as many as 20 to 30, but my guess is that people will stop by out of curiosity and won't eat/drink too much. The mushrooms at Cherokee should accommodate just fine -- even if you get 50. If people didn't mind digging alone in packed snow for hours, they won't mind standing around with a bunch of nice people. And if the gathering goes beyond your wildest expectations, there's always another trip to SA!
greenslvs2 - 02:21pm Feb 5, 1998 CST (#7566 of 8458)
Hollywood, SueBee - (((((((()))))))'s to you guys!!! You two are WAY TOO COOLER ahead of me!!! I've started my list of what's coming - put you two down, so you don't have to e-mail me.
I'm bringing potatoe salad. Here are other things I thought of if someone wants to bring:
We could use 1.5 doz ears of corn (to be cut into thirds); I've a big kettle to cook them in.
Somebody want to bring baked beans?
Deviled egss - LOTS OF WORK!!! :( - is another idea.
Again, there will be coffee for everyone. But, basically, bring what you'll need for *your* needs - plates, utensils, food, etc. Again, anything else is xtra....
Looks this is gonna be a great initial Re-Hash Bash!!! I can't wait!!

Greg: You're so succint. I love it as I'm verbose!!! I think what you're asking is going to come to pass over this coming year - Casey said that he'd be willing to give us space to like, chat (not a direct quote - my interpertation) and the PP would would be brain-dead NOT to have another PPMWC next year. It sounds to me that we'll even be able to talk like during this summer to schedule the Pre-Hunt get-togeher, etc., in the chat area for the Med Hunt. I think... Been slogging... and ingested lots of info.
FYI... have noted things I want to print and read or have the writer read Sunday. Will go back and get the "stories."
Can you do a Web page for us where we can consolidate all the Med Hunt stuff????

If any Members want to bring something to share, think summer:
1.5 doz ears of corn on the cob. They can be cut in thirds to go around. I've a big kettle to cook them in.
Deviled eggs, tho really time consuming. But, it's an idea!
MARSHMELLOWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE NEED MARSHMELLOWS!!!!
I will be bringing my red tobbagan to transport stuff. The kids (no matter age!!! LOL!!!) are free to use it on the "zoom" hill if they want. More sleds/tobbagans and we can have races!
I will bring some charcol, tho we may need more. I will also have trash bags... and will be picking up the CRAP everyone left while hunting. Feel free to give me a hand if ya'wanna.
Let me know if I've forgotten anything and if you wanna contribute.
Hey gang, I seem to be afflicted with RoBBeD syndrome, or Recent Button Bungled Digit syndrome. If it had to go, it seems it went to good folks! Now, I sits, and I thinks....I have no purpose, no goals. Back to icefishing I guess. Looking----> to Sunday. I'll bring...I'm not sure what I'll bring. Consider it a surprise (fish anyone?). B.
Greg Sax - 08:02pm Feb 5, 1998 CST (#7622 of 8458)
greenslvs2: If I'm to make buttons -- and believe me, I can have them ready for the rehash bash -- I need to know what to put on them. I still can't really tell what we're calling ourselves. I've seen you use PPMCC and PPWCC in your past posts (go ahead and slog now if you don't remember). Actually, I think both are a mouthful, but I was never really into WATER COOLER CREW either. I can deal with the letters though -- just tell me if the middle letter is "M" or "W". I'm pretty sure it's "M".
"You dig?" will center the button, but I'd like to put the acronym and full name (It stands for Pioneer Press Medallion Cooler Crew, right?) with the year on it. Color is expensive, so I'd like to keep it all black-and-white, which should be fine since white is our primary color anyway.
So have we taken this thing too far yet? Sure. But that's the fun, ain't it?
This book that keeps coming up -- the '87 Treasure Guide -- I knew about it, but I could never find it. It was published for the Winter Carnival Association, that's about all the further I got with it. As I recall, it's not at any of the local libraries. Could be wrong.
Ok, so we got....brewery tours, Saints games, canoe trips, logo-ed casual wear, logo-ed buttons, a cooler color. Could you guys (*very*deap breath) imagine if we found the damn thing?? Oh My God! Where would it end? The New Ford Medallion Edition F150 Pick Up?Cooler Club Medallion Breakfast Cereal (w/real medallion clues in every box)? The possibilities are endless..... if only...... next year!

Boy, it IS 1-22(not 25 just yet...)-99... Where you been???
We're gonin' on!!! Makin' plans, getting everything in order...
By the time Jan gets her next year, we're gonna be 1/2 to the Med!!!
We're working on a chat room, Med/Hunt Web page, Pre-Hunt Bash (First Annual, I mite add!), logoed-wear... A Saint's game, brewry tours, etc. Read up, son!!! Read up!!!
We been movin' and shakin' this past day. No grass, or moss is gonna grow under these Coolers!!!!
We're still pitchin' snow. Med gone this year or snot!!! We're movin' on!!!!
I don't suppose anyone remembers me from the Cooler, as I only posted 1 message (pre-100). It was great to see how others go about solving the clues. Thanks to many of you, I was out digging with you as well. Just thought I'd drop a final note. Hope you enjoy:
Top Ten Excuses To Why I Didn't Find The Medallion This Year:
10. Spent too much time at the frog pond.
9. Went to Egypt (clue 8) but couldn't find the snow.
8. The metal detector failed me again!
7. I gave up after I found out the winner would get dough instead of cash this year. (clue 7)
6. I was having too much fun on the CP playground.
5. I was waiting for an 'X marks the spot' clue.
4. I had too much fun watching everybody else slave away at CP for nothing.

now it's quite in the PPMC.... The ever valient and diligent Way Cool Cooler Heads have slowly toddled off to bed... tired from yet another day of seeking... They don't always seek The Med... sometimes they seek that which is in the hearts of others... As they can find a kindred spirit...
But even so, as they slumber tonite... Visions of Meds will dance in their heads... Always next year, always The Hunt... Always... Because...
As long as there is The Hunt there will be Seekers... As long as there is an electronic means of hunting/communicating - there will be Cooler Heads... And they will always seek more than just The Med... As they are more than mere token seekers.
Peace, my friends... Never quit seeking that which is important to you, no matter what it is...
Alone in the bar again...Just got back from the Frog Pond, I don't think it's there. I've been aimlessly (sp?) wandering around STP parks this eve like a lost sheep, and the cops didn't like it. Is there a number I can call? Is there help? Will my company pay for it? I can't seem to get the guts up to tear down my blown up Hudson map copy from my office wall. There's a clue in my last sentance. That's it, see ya Sun AM.

Greg: You are the greatest!!! Let me know if you need me to run get them, etc., etc., etc.
Eagle: Slog and see what all's coming... Anything you wish to bring would be nice, but it is not necessary.
C/All - I got 240 lbs. of BOUGHT pot-salad; 30 ears of corn... Well, they're kind'a scrawny and we'll have to cut some in 1/2, instead'a thirds; two bags of 'coal; a gallon of milk; a package (the BIG long one - WHITE, natch!!! LOL!) of napkins; and three thingys of salt and pepper. Won't be stopping by as I'm going to fill my platic camping water carriers here and head straight over to get 12 cups'a java going. We could use a "boombox" for some tunes... AND DON'T FORGET DIGGING IMPLEMENTS!!!!!!!! Frisbees, too. We've about three sleds/tobaggans coming. Anybody got (the now outlawed) Jarts? Kites would be fun!!! Bring things to do the 'mellows on!!!!!!
Reid's a LOVE for the group pics!!!! WHAT A GREAT IDEA!!! It will do well... I'm going to start a PPMCC scrap book to help keep track of us over the years.
Drove past your house, C. Wanted to scope out the outlets... A TON, we needn't worry. And... Have a little down time to myself in CP before tomorrow. This is all so overwhelming to me...
So. That's that!
Can anybody get in touch with Wright Winger and Deb Speidel????

Ter: Pretty niffty this whole coming together of us digging folks, isn't it?
Glad, so very GLAD, to hear that a non-Head is interested in Way Cooler wear, and everything else.
I call tomorrow "bitter-sweet" closure. Maybe, after all, I'll tell how this all came about... but I feel SO SILLY!!!!
But, in a weird way, tomorrow will be like a wake. But a happy one... but yet a way to happily put aside the frenzy we've lived under for two weeks. And do it w/others that have experienced like emotions. See... That's the kicker. We've all gone up and down, up and down, up and down... and down... And we can empathise (sp?).
And we can build steam for.... NEXT YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Terry Valentine - 09:41pm Feb 7, 1998 CST (#7920 of 8458) Read #8268 from CASEY!!!!!!
It's not a wake. It's a celebration unlike any other any where. It's not silly. If it was, would so many people be working to make it happen?
Maybe for COOLER HEADS, there is a special feeling of commraderie(sp). We've probably passed each other - not just this year but others, in a park, in the snow, often stopping to chat with other hunters. Maybe that's what makes actually meeting each other in a celebration of the hunt the right thing to do at the right time.
Steam for next year is a great idea. Steam is warm. We were lucky for the hunt this year with the weather. Don't know if this hunt would have been as much fun if the temperature had been way below zero.

AND THEY'RE OFF!!!! Don't know, Ter. Just know what I feel/think. Seems strange. I've this feeling ol'Greg is pounding the steering wheel say, "I FORGOT TO POST, I FORGOT TO POST" rite about now.
Bet he checks in later... when he gets to his friend's house. Wonder how he's gonna get all the egg of his face??? This WILL be interesting... If i'm rite, that is. Wasn't too rite on too much on the clues, tho!!!! LOL!!!

I'd like to think the buttons will be there but I still can't promise that because I haven't heard from my middle man. The fact that he hasn't called me back since this morning means a) all's well and buttons will be there or b) he screwed up and doesn't want to talk about it. He knows how much I've put into this and I don't think he wants to be the one to blow it.
The middle man is my best friend, Laszlo Aranyos. I call him Laci (sounds like "Yahtzee"). He'll be the one bringing them by as well so be nice. He's a bit skeptical about all this -- not the fact that it's happening, but that he doesn't know anyone. He was able to spend about a half an hour online with me when I came home, but there were only a few regulars on at that time. He keeps asking "Is doodledog going to be there?" because that's who was talking the most

I'm no longer in college. Been out since '92. I'm 27, married, one 3-year-old son, decent job as writer/editor, been at the job in M'waukee just over a year, still renting, in debt up to my just-starting-to-bulge-from-too-much-good-Milwaukee-beer belly.
I think maybe I still sound like a college kid because I like to use the 10-penny words -- like I'm showing off or something. Fact is, I just like to write. The words go down as I think them because I can type like a dickens. Anyway, that's me in a shell. Now that it's quieter I don't mind sharing. It just didn't seem like something I should do when we were trying to figure out "double division."

Green, BW, Terry, Greg.....Just back from the de-throning:)
Parade was a blast. We were, as far as I know, the only Cooler Heads volunteering. Got to carry flakes and then run back to do the Vs (they needed more volunteers than showed:( )
If the guy from PP is there tomorrow, want to talk to him about an idea I have..... Kind of tie things together, like the snowflakes and the Vs...
Anyway great to see the Cooler talk is still going on.

I'm still amazed at why some of you guys think the PP will show???? LIke, isn't the Carnival over????? I'd think they'd be out getting news, you know... SOMETHING IMPORTANT?????
Cheryl Straight - 11:23pm Feb 7, 1998 CST (#7959 of 8458)
Least I don't have to worry about the gas <grin>
Don't count the PP out. I think this is news. They provided a forum that got a whole lot of folks talking and working together and then those same people decide to get together after the event, just 'cuz.
That IS news. In today's world, people are usually already on to the NEXT thing. Not this time, not this group...
greenslvs2 - 11:34pm Feb 7, 1998 CST (#7966 of 8458)
C: Yea. News. And this all started because we (you, me... and you tacking on Hubs) wanted an 'end,' a quiet time back where we hunted... And we were going to have fried eggs, bacon, etc., out in CP. And I just *happened* to ask... "C, would you mind if I tossed this out into The Cooler??? See if anybody else wants to come?"
And you told me to go for it - that if nobody else showed (LOL!!!!!!!) the three of us would head for Capital View Cafe.

giddyup back again...greenslvs2. Anyone else feel a little bit nostalgic?
greenslvs2 - 09:36pm Feb 4, 1998 CST (#7463 of 8458)
Well, Terry, you've said it here.
:) What the heck do I have to do for the next 12 months?????
greenslvs2 - 09:44pm Feb 4, 1998 CST (#7469 of 8458)
Thanks, giddy. You've my e-mail address.

I've been thinking of using a new name: Greenjeans... but still thinking!!

Hick - 10:01pm Feb 4, 1998 CST (#7479 of 8458)
Just think of the possible withdrawl symptoms here...11 days of staring at the water cooler page, sifting through the hundreds of missed messages in the middle of the nite.

You dig?

We could use 1.5 doz ears of corn (to be cut into thirds); I've a big kettle to cook them in.
Somebody want to bring baked beans?

Deviled eggs, tho really time consuming. But, it's an idea!
MARSHMELLOWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE NEED MARSHMELLOWS!!!!

greenslvs2: If I'm to make buttons -- and believe me, I can have them ready for the rehash bash -- I need to know what to put on them.
Here...let me start a new post.

Ok, so we got....brewery tours, Saints games, canoe trips, logo-ed casual wear, logo-ed buttons, a cooler color. Could you guys (*very*deap breath) imagine if we found the damn thing?? Oh My God! Where would it end? The New Ford Medallion Edition F150 Pick Up? Cooler Club Medallion Breakfast Cereal (w/real medallion clues in every box)? The possibilities are endless..... if only...... next year!
Bee...Where are you? Cap'n Bob ????????????

3. Spent too much time browsing the Cooler.
2. I didn't want my name in the paper anyway.
1. Oh yeah Pioneer Press employees aren't eligible.
See ya next year!

now it's quite in the PPMC....

Can anybody get in touch with Wright Winger and Deb Speidel????
greenslvs2 - 09:29pm Feb 7, 1998 CST (#7919 of 8458)
Ter: Pretty niffty this whole coming together of us digging folks, isn't it?
COOLER HEADS *WILL* PREVAIL!!!!!!!!!!!

One cannot post from a moving car... I yust wanna go on record...
Greg said he would post about 6:00ish about the +/- of having buttons tomorrow... He'd also said he could not make The Bash tomorrow...
Now: read the clues, folks:
No word from Greg... just a mere four or so hour drive from Milwaukee... No post, no word, no NADA...
What do YOU ALL THINK??? I think Mr. Sax will show tomorrow... but, just MHO...
Feedback?????
Terry Valentine - 09:50pm Feb 7, 1998 CST (#7924 of 8458) Read #8268 from CASEY!!!!!!
Greenslvs 2 - I thought the same thing when I didn't notice any more posts from him. That would be so awesome!
The very last line of his post at 2:47 this afternoon might have a double meaning...
Are we reading more into this than we should? Hope not!
Need to free up the phone line for a bit. Will be back later.
greenslvs2 - 09:56pm Feb 7, 1998 CST (#7925 of 8458)
(laughing so hard I can't breathe!!!)
LOL!!!
Greg Sax - 10:00pm Feb 7, 1998 CST (#7926 of 8458)
You two are too funny...
Greg Sax - 10:36pm Feb 7, 1998 CST (#7940 of 8458)
I'd like to think the buttons will be there but I still can't promise that because I haven't heard from my middle man.
He keeps asking "Is doodledog going to be there?" because that's who was talking the most
Greg Sax - 10:53pm Feb 7, 1998 CST (#7945 of 8458)
I'm no longer in college.
Cheryl Straight - 11:02pm Feb 7, 1998 CST (#7947 of 8458)
Green, BW, Terry, Greg.....Just back from the de-throning:)
Greg, you write real well.
greenslvs2 - 11:06pm Feb 7, 1998 CST (#7949 of 8458)
I'm still amazed at why some of you guys think the PP will show???? LIke, isn't the Carnival over????? I'd think they'd be out getting news, you know... SOMETHING IMPORTANT?????
Cheryl Straight - 11:23pm Feb 7, 1998 CST (#7959 of 8458)
Least I don't have to worry about the gas <grin>
Don't count the PP out. I think this is news. They provided a forum that got a whole lot of folks talking and working together and then those same people decide to get together after the event, just 'cuz.
That IS news. In today's world, people are usually already on to the NEXT thing. Not this time, not this group...
Sorry, put the soap box back in the closet....
greenslvs2 - 11:34pm Feb 7, 1998 CST (#7966 of 8458)
C: Yea.
News? Maybe. Don't know. Just know it feels rite.
greenslvs2 - 12:18am Feb 8, 1998 CST (# 8000 of 8458)
Just checked my list.... Itsin's "?" was removed. Last I heard he said he would attend. Gotta 'member, he's prolly off on something new. You men and all.

Shooting for 8000
Greg Sax - 12:21am Feb 8, 1998 CST (#8004 of 8458)
Damn, just missed it. greenslvs2: I suppose it's only fitting that it was you. You've gotta have 2000 posts under your belt by now (evil smirk -- but holding back laughter)
