Tim . . . . I'm not thinking of Vikings or anything like that, but something definately military. Which would also bring in the duel (or dueling) if you will. Hmmmmmmmm.......

Where are such statues or pieces of memorabilia kept (in any park) that anyone knows of?????

2nd clue = don't go on golf courses...don't go into cemetaries....and don't go on people's private property. everything else is fair came. thats my take anyway.

I am actually still stuck on Como for lots of reasons June weddings Snoopy statue Golf course Surrounded by private houses

However, this contradicts my theory about bold meaning new park. It also doesn't account for the battle references.

I like the fair ground idea, but isn't it in Vadnais Heights? What makes it appealing to the clue writers is that it is not in Steve's book.

are those snoopy things still around town? I thought they were all removed

"I believe they have all been auctioned, but I could be wrong."

They have all been auctioned but, some of them are still about town. My stepdaughters school had one donated to them.

Some Snoopys still exist around town.

My map shows the entire fair grounds in Falcon Heights. But, I wouldn't rely on it since they have I94 labeled wrong.

Green . . . .

I believe the ENTIRE fairgrounds is in Falcon Heights.

But the official State Fair Web Site says "The Minnesota State Fairgrounds is located at 1265 Snelling Avenue North in St. Paul."

Mon, 01/22/2001 - 12:14 AM Permalink
tim_the_hunter

no fair grounds.

I keep reading this....argh!!

Driving south on Snelling from Larpenteur, as soon as you drive past Hoyt, the sign says City of St. Paul. Falcon Heights runs from Hoyt north just beyond Larpenteur which is then Roseville.

MJ, I'm working tomorrow... Well, not working. I'll BEE at work, but will prolly go sleep in the warehouse. Or noodle in the cafeteria.

Battle Creek is too obvious, however, is it possible that they would put it someplace obvious like that and then have fun with is in the next couple clues?

Mon, 01/22/2001 - 12:15 AM Permalink

My official opinion is The fairgrounds is all in Falcon Hites.

That should settle it.

there are snoopy's left thats probably what statue refers to. so people dont go destroying them

Mon, 01/22/2001 - 12:15 AM Permalink

I'm confused as to were the fairgrounds actually is.

I thought that only 50 of the Snoopy's were auctioned. There are some still around town tho - there was a PP story a couple of days ago abou them I believe - they were thinking of doing something like it again, except w/ Lucy, Linus - except the Mayor didn't think it would work - that would probably be overload, but weren't they going to bronze or put one in gold or something (or a few) in a park - perhaps Rice, in the future?

Mon, 01/22/2001 - 12:16 AM Permalink

I think most are, but for Ter... Thanks for staying up, Ter! Keep on reading!

It says you must not ANNOY, nothing about avoiding all together!

Mon, 01/22/2001 - 12:17 AM Permalink
Terry

I'm not. I used to work at the corner of Larpenteur and Snelling (Falcon Heights) and drove to my home in St. Paul down Snelling every day. St. Paul begins at Hoyt. The sign is right there. Can't miss it.
