Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.
Randahl
lol jennee...kinda like " hey hey...ok...ok..." lol
P. 68: South St. Anthony Rec Center. A block from University ("work your brain"), you can see the KSTP tower and a Doppler radar ball ("in and on the air"), bordered by Hunt Place ("carnival hunter"), bordered by Bayless (bay refers to "tide"). What more do you want?
Oh, South St. Anthony Rec Center? I guess I was thinking of something else.
When you post something, it does only show you two posts. What I usually do (there may be a better method) is after I post, I hit the back button, then click on the blue number of the last post on that page.
It brought back memories of TC Marathon and that's about it. But like I said I didn't walk along the river. There were about 15 people digging at the picnic area at the north end.
Swede Hallow obviously has hills and there are no trees at the bottom of the ravine. And you can see a lot of towers from there. Not my most likely choice though.
Right now Merriam is my most likely choice. There's one main hill but it has several crests. Coming down the main hill (where a lot of sledding seems to take place judging by the sled tracks) there is a wide open space devoid of trees (not that the park has what I would call woods, but it has many trees) This spot is near a playground with lots of fun and slides, and if time and tide really were meant to refer to Longfellow (not that I have a better explanation for it) then Longfellow magnet school is indeed right there next to that same area. And not only can one broadcast tower be prominently seen, but at least 4 more can be seen from a distance if on top of the hill. The main one can be seen from the bottom of the hill as well. Granted it's only 4 clues, but it seems to fit them all pretty well, even if you don't stretch them at all (it has trees on the top of a hill, and a clearing at the bottom and you can see a broadcast tower from there).
Okay Its poll the audience time....... Will ya all E-mail me at Jimcasper194@aol.com with your first pick of a park I will tally the votes and get back to you with the number one pick then I will meet ya all there. For you to know I am going with BC. B.Y.O.B. and a bit for me. For you to know I am going with BC
Well, it's been a couple years since I scoped it out for another years search; I remember that park as being off the main road where all those St. Anthony shops are and that there was a college(small0or college ave nearby?
You could be feeling especially psychic today, dear Aquarius, and you might actually receive some premonitions, which are probably more concerned with trends in the entire world than with personal matters. You might contact some of your friends in order to share this information and discuss it, which could bring up insights that are even more new. You could spend a lot of the day a bit overwhelmed with all you're getting. Writing it down could help bring it into focus.
Looking at p 68, scheffer also looks good. Como ave runs by, could be the como references we've been seeing. Horseshoe pits(pit is tip backward), ballparks. Shaw lumber is across the street(far from the woods). Castle motif on grain elevator(castle could be carnival hunter's pride). Large radio tower in view. I don't know about any hills...
AA dropped down my list because I don't think you can really see any sort of broadcast towers from there, and I'm sure you can't see them from the bottom of the hill. The Longfellow thing wasn't my idea, but apparently there is a quote from him using "time and tide". Normally I'd say it's just a coincidence, but that would be a rather odd coincidence.
I like phalen except for the hills part...one more thing on phalen and the "brow" deal....how about taking row from brow...row...as in regatta that is there every year?
i've heard that before, dal. of course, is the medallion really lost? then again, i've also heard that st. jude is the patron saint of lost causes too.
I am with ya Sean. I thought that too I think today "fair" is our biggest tip yet.. I am also thinking that these clues are made to keep us buying the paper and making this year last. Fairview,Fairgrounds, fair ball, Is there a fair st.?? who knows. Fairlawn?? Hmmmm why is my head spinning?
I heard yesterdays paper had a very definate No Golf Course mention. Ya think that could be because its near the golf course at Phalen or does this happen every year?
lol jennee...kinda like " hey hey...ok...ok..." lol
what did you think about hidden falls jenn?
Here are my top choices at the moment:
yes you are, jennee. just don't hit refresh on that screen or you'll post again.
What about Fort Snelling? Anyone been there?
allison...i can see all but sede hollow and merriam...care to elaborate on them?

I had cked out St. Anthony Park a couple years ago. Kinda small; hard to park; steep hills, woods.....
BTW For anyone trying to feed their family quickly and cheaply during the hunt Taco Johns has 2 for $1 soft shell tacos all of January.
Here's an idea about "on the air"--Point Douglas Rd. Point=tip, Douglas=Paul Douglas on WCCO TV???
Thank you, Classof69: it also has hills and woods.
It brought back memories of TC Marathon and that's about it. But like I said I didn't walk along the river. There were about 15 people digging at the picnic area at the north end.
st anthony doesn't have any hills or woods though.
In regards to St. Anthony--Rick Bayless is a chef on TV.
snow mommy sound slike lunch to me!!
Nice work ggg.
LL: I thought St. Anthony did have woods/hills; but small....

On your way to Phalen Randy?
nice theory, dal.
oh and for anyone who's making the connection with hunter's pride and lions, remember its the lioness who actually does the hunting.
sidenote to previous conversation: no training in the lion species! lol!
class of 69, my book is not showing any, says its in the midst of industry, warehousing, trucking facilities...unless I'm lookin at the wrong park?
LL what time were you thinking of going to Phalen? My Husband says my car MIGHT be OK to drive for a short ditance.
just a thouhgt, has anyone put the -and be fair ,part of the clue towards a ball feild ,also the give us a tip? foul tip
Sean that was my first thought.
Well, it's been a couple years since I scoped it out for another years search; I remember that park as being off the main road where all those St. Anthony shops are and that there was a college(small0or college ave nearby?
probably soon snow mom, still hafta take a shower though, and 3 yr old lost his gloves so I have to go buy him a pair before I take him to the park.
Allison nice list, could you bring me up to speed on longfellow??
Don't forget AA, I got burned by merrium last year why you were at aa but I still think merrium is a great choice.
Maureen are you there, ben thinking you are a smart lady
Hmmm, great horoscope for today, hehe...

a great horoscope indeed.
I'm heading over to Phalen.
mmm 69, im lookin at cromwell and territorial rd, I must be at a different park.
"tip": "pit" spelled backwards...that Lions Club fire pit at Phalen?
DUDES! St. Anthony is "the finder of lost articles" according to a Catholic website!

classof69, I checked the fire pit at Phalen. If it's there, I'll be pissed.
how about this...." hey hey " hey was what Rerun used to say....as in rerun of como??
I heard yesterdays paper had a very definate No Golf Course mention. Ya think that could be because its near the golf course at Phalen or does this happen every year?
That fire pit may just be a clue for the park, or the med will be within view of the pit..
Ares, believe!
I'm glad JC is not on here right now -- he'd have a field day with my noodlin.
I'm soooo frustrated! I have the whole week off from work and I can't decide where to go.
I really think "in and on the air" refers to some kind of TV antena or radio antena
