2002 Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt

Submitted by Casey Trauer on

Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.

OK, I drove by Crosby, HF and Highland. Some things I noted:

Crosby - very long, over a mile in length; difficult to get to at night and not condusive to night-time diggers; no night time lighting whatsoever; things near it include the river, airport, park and ride, a lake/pond is within it, trails, picnic area.

HF - also very long an narrow; difficult to get into at night, but very well lit; also near the river and airport, several smoke stacks nearby; Ford plant is near; locks and damn is close; picnic area and trails also there.

Highland - too huge to cover without 5/6 clues under our belt.

I'm stuck on the word "trip" from one of the clues. It just stuck out at me for some reason as an obvious clue. Airport? Trip? That is my rationale for Crosby or Highland - besides, Crosby also fits well for that "hey hey" lyric link to Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young from previous posts.

Battle Creek area take a rigt off of Upper Afton by the elementary school. The Rec Center is next to the big sliding hill by the old ski jump. I think it's considered "Battle Creek Park still there. It's away from all of the trees and lots of skiing---anyone along with me?
