Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.

Terry-see, I really did take 3 aspirin before I went to Gabes--I had already gotten a headache within 2 hours of hearing the medallion had been found. So by the time I got to McG's I could not feel the headache of it all.
Did anyone check out the header or whatever it is. Look under the headline at the top of this forum...

Wow, AW, that was a great report on your day. Just read it now while catching up with posts. I know I got to hear it when I talked to you at Gabes & McG's but this filled in the blanks. Was your night really that strange? Oh, what am I thinking, of course it was...you were with all of us :)---Oh, and if I did not say it, I thought it...you stuck to your guns on Merriam - your awsome :) I learned something from that. Thanks :)
By the way, at the bottom of the hill below the cache is a semi-hollow tree with a skeleton of something in it. I thought it looked like an alligator or something repilian....anyone else visiting the site care to take a guess what it is? Had me flummoxed. Happy cachin!
I am still around. Just read my emails and AW's website stuff. but headin' up for a bit-just need to warm up, make dinner -I will be back later for a while. bye Ian
The salad is all done and in the fridge, the picnic basket is out and almost ready. Tomorrow will just be packing up the cooler and heading to Marry 'em Park.
Before the hunt even really got underway, I had a dream that I found the medallion but couldn't tell anyone where I found it....cuz I didn't know! Woke up in a tizz after that one. Guess I know what that dream meant now. I know what it looks like, but I couldn't tell ya where it was.
Sometimes I get so wishful about finding the medallion - and other times I would swear I didn't really care as the hunt is what makes this so fun. Guess I'd just like to beat the cluewriter at his/her own game just once.
Hey TMK! I think cookies will be just fine. There will be lots of folks coming. I think I heard someone say last night they're bringing the makings for ice cream sundaes. The cookies will go great with that!
Mr Casper, you are welcome here and great thoughts! I hope the Pioneer Press listens to us and makes some changes! This is such a great tradition to celebrate St.Paul!
We've come a long way in our collective relationship with the Pioneer Planet. As in any relationship, they have made us outrageously happy at times and unhappy at other times. I do believe we are listened to and respected.
As Greg Sax (webmaster extraordinaire) says: All this success we've had in building a good, clean reputation makes it certain that I'll be around one of these years. I don't see our traditions falling off anytime soon.
WARNING: The drinking of Coke may be hazardous to the well-being of your keyboard. Some posts have been known to induce snorting and spitting of Coke. Proceed at your own caution.
Good Hunt All, was fun while it (kinda) lasted. Went back to the park yesterday where I hunted for a couple hours friday night from 11:30 PM to 1:30 AM with some friends. Saw the spot where it was found and was shocked to look down and see MY FOOTPRINT! Along with some digging marks. All I had to do was look down and $10,000 would be mine right now, tough pill to swallow. Should have stuck around there a little longer. I'm out of town and won't make it back to St. Paul until Sunday afternoon, how long does the re-hash bash last? I would really like to make it there, meet some people, share some stories. If I don't make it back, does anything go on at night, like at McGovern's? Until next year...
How many people would be willing to take a park (or zone) to update for a new version of the Guide? I'm thinking that if there are about 25 people willing to commit to this, I will give up my "Guide" status and we could try to get the PP to print an insert each year with the whole collection.
No more guide book as we know it, but perhaps an adverising for charity section that would promote the event and also define the boundaries of the hunt.
It's inevitable that I will discontinue doing this, and rather than letting it die, I bet the cooler crew can keep it going. Let me know what you think. Reach me by e-mail at jsrworth@aol.com.
Steve, I'd be willing to scout some parks. Instead of having the PP give out an insert, perhaps they can donate some webspace, or we can find somewhere to place the whole thing on the web? We could possibly expand, now with digital cameras being out. I know MK and Artemis have done a wonderful job with taking pictures. It could be possible to expand, but I think it would have to be a group effort.

Terry, I didn't notice it last night actually. But I couldn't stay at the pre-dig because of it...
It seemed worse last night to me. Tomorrow should be much nicer for conversation.
Ian, that did not bother me, I was just having something to tease you about. I have nothing to hide... when it comes to EBay. :) but really, no biggy.
Well, kiddos... I gots to run. Duty calls. I'm taking Como and have transferred by '56er to my jacket. My touchstones.

We WILL succeed!

Maybe that should be a warning for next year?
