Matt's Mom
He parked his rig, in hopes of parking his rig, and went into the building. He soon found the "Madam", and said, "I need a woman, I've got plenty of money"...The Madam said to him, "I'm sorry, but all our women are spoken for." The man said, "That can't be possible!" I've heard great things about this place, and it's been soooooo long since I was with a woman!" The Madam thought for a minute, and said, "Well, for 100$, I can give you a bottle of whisky, and a chicken" And the man said "What on earth would I do with those?" The madam replied, drink the whisky, and you'll think of something"
"Well, for 100$, I can give you a bottle of whisky, and a chicken" And the man said "What on earth would I do with those?" The madam replied, drink the whisky, and you'll think of something"
So the trucker thought, "It HAS been a long time..." And paid the madam 100$ He went to the room, and he drank the whisky, and looked at the chicken, and drank more whisky... by the time that bottle was empty, that chicken looked pretty good, so he had his way with the chicken.
The next time the trucker had to make that trip, he planned it so he was at that brothel really early. He stopped in, and asked the madam for the best woman money could buy. The madam told him, "I'm sorry, but all the women are taken" And the trucker protested"But it's only 9 AM!!!!" The madam said, she was sorry, and the trucker asked, "Is that chicken avaliable?" The madam informed him the chicken had died. The trucker asked "What am I to do???" The madam said, "For 100$, I'll give you a bottle of whisky, and you can watch 2 midgets doing it"
The trucker wondered why he would want to pay for such a thing, but he doled out the 100$, and went to a hallway, joining several other men with bottles of whisky. ..They were drinking, and looking through holes in the wall. The trucker drank his whisky, looked through a hole, and said "This is great!!!" And the guy next to him said,"You think this is great? Last month, there was a guy in there with a chicken!"
So anyway, took a bit of a drive around downtown tonight. 10th and Cedar is like nothing at all so not going to find any restaurants or bars there. So it looks like the best option will be Wild Thyme after all. It's only a few blocks away and not as long of a walk as I had imagined at first. Scribe says it can get real crowded in there so I would propose making this the pre-parade location, starting perhaps around 1pm. There shouldn't be too much of a crowd on a Saturday afternoon I would imagine.
After the parade, it seems the most logical place to go and warm up would be The Buttery on Robert and 5th which should be only a block away from the end of the parade route. Might be crowded, but what won't be at that point? So what does everyone think?
I'd also like to go on record against the rampant lysol spraying. I think people should be free to express themselves and if no one is being explicit or crude I don't see a problem. If we're going to try and disallow even innocent innuendo because some people (are they even contributing to the board?) have a problem with it, this place will become pretty dull pretty fast, and not long after that it will be a ghost town again until next January. Of course maybe that will be inevitable anyway as the subject that brings us all together begins to increasingly fade from relevance. But why not enjoy ourselves in the meantime while we can? Maybe I just have a skewed perspective on it, but I hardly think anyone was really crossing any lines before.
But my point is censorship also makes people uncomfortable and stay away. Especially when there is no firm standard for it, but rather an ever growing fear that any ill-phrased comment might be taken wrong by some mysterious, nameless lurker who could potentially be offended at anything and everything. It could grow to the point where everyone feels like they have to walk on eggshells to avoid upsetting this sensitive entity that no one knows anything about. It's not like I'm known for making smutty posts, but I don't want to see the tide go too far in the other direction either. I'm all for being tasteful and having a modicum of decorum, but I'd rather aim for the middle of the road than try to make everyone adhere to the strictest definitions of decency.
This is a free public forum. Contrary to popular belief, freedom of speech does not exist here. You may be removed at any time and for whatever reason the Sysop sees fit. Do you think Ma Press wants to be known for their "Medallion thread", where grade school humor runs rampant?
I for one have also found recent posts uncomfortable and that is why I haven't been here much in the past few days.
My 7 year old often reads this forum over my shoulder. I don't want him reading about such things as thongs, lickers, cocks, midget sex, & beastiality (Sex with chickens).
This simply isn't the place for such discussion.
I too am probably guilty of innuendo but (grapefruit), the line has been crossed in my opinion.
AW - you are entitled to you opinion, but I thought some of the discussion WAS crossing the line - enough so that I was afraid the board would be shut down.
Also, sexual innuendo makes some people uncomfortable - enough so that people stay away from the board. We don't want to chase people away. Finally, there are lots of places on the Internet for people to talk about sex. Do we really want to be one of those places?
Thanks AW! I would have to agree. While slogging todays posts, I WAS starting to feel uncomfortable, not because of inuendos or naked blond jokes, but because of the obvious censorship of thoughts. It made me start to doubt some of the posts I made before slogging, which is ridiculous.
g/morning all! AW the before and after bars sound good to me, we know some people that hang out at the buttery so mr liquor will feel right at home after the parade! (considering we get a sitter that is!) I agree with the censorship thing too, has gotten kind of boring lately, I think as long as it doesn't get too raw they are not gonna shut us down. Anyway, I deleted most of my posts that had any inuendo's in them, If there's one thing I learned on this board it's that you don't want to upset people cuz they will bring you down real quick! I have not been one to express my opinions on here, but I'm gonna go out on a limb and just say this......computers are kinda like televisions, if you don't like the program you can change the channel or shut it off.
as for the "lysol spraying", i personally abhor censorship. and i think kids put it best. just think about what you're writing, and who might be watching (then again a good parent is watching what their kids are reading on the net too), before writing it. if everyone "changes the channel", mom p won't have much of a reason to keep the board around. are we gonna get dirty in here? hell yeah. that's how much of a community we've become. i'd worry if we didn't from time to time.
Or if you wan't to chat, let us know you are uncomfortable! I don't think most of us would have a problem cleaning it up if someone lets us know that they are here and uncomfortable.
how many kids really come in here after the hunt is over? I for one keep my puter in the living room so I can WATCH what my child is looking at, I shiver at the thought of leaving them alone with a computer!
my wife tells me that 2 nights ago...i roll over in bed put my arm around her...give her a lil hug...put my nose up to her nose and said....in a sarcastic voice....looked her eye to eye...( i am dead asleep now mind you) and said "frosti"....

we have got to get this guy run for some sort of political office...seriously....I would volunteer to help campaign for him =) Nice post Allison....

nope. no parade for me. i'm trying to get this cold to go away. and besides, with me2 and dal around, i wouldn't be able to keep anything resembling a straight face :)

Lysol? I must have missed something today! I better go slogging!
