2002 Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt

Submitted by Casey Trauer on

Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.

The auction was listed twice, not reaching the reserve price. I was high bidder both times, and the guy offered it to me for that bid.

Ahres, wait until you have a 5 & 7 year old come to you (with innocent eyes of course) and say "The computers not working".

nt/w2000/xp differentiate between an administrator and a normal user :) most of the time mere users can't do anything that can damage the system. guess who never logs in as a normal user on his computer???

ATTENTION EVERYONE........I have a PalinaJOE!

When I put the burner in my computer, I expected at least a couple hours, start to finish. The instructions and photos were very clear: 10 minutes tops.

I put a burner in my son's computer, and after two hours on two days, it's not right, but it works.

On Christmas eve, I put one in my brother-in-law's computer. His came with different software (I think it's one you have) and I had a hell of a time. Ends up it was there, he forgot where he installed it.

nt/w2000/xp differentiate between an administrator and a normal user

Between you and me, I was able to install on my work machine even thought I don't have admin rights.

Explain that one to me?

You'll never be a "mere user" to me.

Well, movies started and Scribe's yelling at me to come watch.

Later & MCL ya'll

thats what it sounded like to me. that guy has got to get his priorities straightened out :)

Fri, 02/01/2002 - 9:09 PM Permalink
ThoseMedallingKids

Naw, he probably does have his priorities straight. They're probably like this, in this order:

  • Keep Scribe happy
  • Provide for family
  • Keep Scribe happy
  • Have fun
  • Keep Scribe happy

That's right. If you don't keep the woman of the house happy...ain't nobody happy!

Fri, 02/01/2002 - 9:17 PM Permalink

notice how keeping scribe happy is higher on the list than providing for the family!

Fri, 02/01/2002 - 9:17 PM Permalink

Providing for the family is one part of keeping her happy.

yeah. forgot about that rule. if she ain't happy, you ain't happy! and if she ain't happy long enough you're gonna be unhappy with half your stuff!

Fri, 02/01/2002 - 9:26 PM Permalink
Terry

Exactly!

oh this is perfect. i've got an "unknown disk" which doesn't contain a windows 2000 or windows xp compatible partition. well. looks like i'm off to buy a 36 gig ibm scsi disc tomorrow morning and to send this one back to ibm for a replacement at the same time!

Hi LL!

I haven't paid much attention to all that while slogging as we'll be busy up to about parade time and then have dinner plans with some friends.

Fri, 02/01/2002 - 10:47 PM Permalink
ares

evenin' ll. here's what i remember of what's going on (i didn't pay much attention as i'm not gonna be partaking in the festivities): wild thyme (don't know the location) before the parade. anywhere between 1 and 3 starting time (don't remember which), the buttery afterward.

this computer is frustrating me. thankfully i've got me enough hardware to swap around till i find the ultimate cause of the problem :(

Fri, 02/01/2002 - 10:52 PM Permalink
Terry

Ares - I hope the problem gets solved soon.

I'm going to check out for the night. Got a few things to finish up here and then it's lights out.

Goodnight and MCL!!

Well after slogging (and there wasn't much to slog) I have come to the conclusion that not much happened tonight since I left....and since it seems everyone else has gone to bed for the night I might as well try to get some sleep (if you know who actually stays asleep I don't know whats wrong with her this week....UGH)
