Been working on work-work here tonight. Trying to be sure I have all my ducks in a row - visions of them floating on orange juice - before I need time off for digging.
I've gained another obsession the past couple of years. Aurora Borealis Hunting...and if anyone is interested and under clear skies, find some dark sky location and look towards the north. You just might get lucky to see a fantastic light show tonight. All the indicators are up for a good chance of finding those lights!
I'm going to get ready for some night sky viewing...might as well get used to being sleep deprived, right?

If you have clear skies, you need to find dark skies...no street lights or other light pollution. Let your eyes adjust to the dark for a few minutes and watch the northern skies. When the aurora is active, you may see glows, arcs, curtains, rays, anywhere from the northeast to the northwest. Sometimes closer to the horizon but often reaching to the corona overhead. Often there is white or green tints...and if you get really lucky, there's rainbow colors or red.
