I don't think that bandshell is related. I suspect you can't even see it from the vast majority of the park.

Allison, I don't think seeing it is an issue. It's just part of the park. Helps determine the park.

Allison - I agree. Raspberry Island isn't very big, sits under the Wabasha bridge and all that is there is that bandshell and that other old building. Sounds like the hunt is on towards the west.

I think you've got to line up with some three E's somewhere and hunt between the first and last.

Good Morning Cooler Heads. I walked from the hotel to the car this morning and almost got frostbite! Oh my Gosh- you gotta be crazy to be out there today (saying that, I'll be out soon). I hate these clues. I was down at HI yesterday for a few, there were a million people. Wouldn't someone have picked it up yet?

'Slim, did you get your call?

Last year we told them they could take their clues and stick them where the sun don't shine. This year, they took the puck and stuck it where the sun don't shine. We're such a cruel crew.

I'm probably going to go out there in a bit just to see the area. I doubt I'll last very long hunting though. But then again, maybe by only planning to be there for a short while, I can be one of those people that digs for 5 minutes and finds it. hehe

Allison, in my dream I had where you found it, the sun was shining - just like today... GOOD LUCK!

I didn't Green, and I couldn't sleep because of it!! Ok, I have slogged and slogged and I can't get why so many are stuck on Harriet. The bait shop, the Harriet Bishop statue, and the High Bridge (with the leap). What else????

"carpenter's beau... neared finish with walker."

Jamie Carpenter's 'bow' shaped bandshell - his art or something is called "Walker" - was completed near (?) the end of HI's reconstruction.

Sorry about the non-call, 'slim... I guess someone got carried away with the xcitement and forgot...

otay green, thanks anyway! What do you mean "the puck stops"?

Allison Wonderland

Yahoo says the temperature right now is 2 below and the wind chill is 18 below. I imagine the wind chill on Harriet must be even colder because it always seems to be much windier down there.

"the puck stops here", you're being moderated.

E-mail lance@peoplesforum.com and let him know. He'll fix you up.

It's not so bad. Once you go numb, it's all downhill from there.

:-)

I'm taking a break from hunting to do some work so I can take the day off tomorrow.

I just talked to Trent. He's at Harriet Island filming since that's where the most people are. He says he figures it's probably 10 to 20 degrees colder there than it is elsewhere.

Underground ----> Underground Railroad ----> Harriet Tubman.

I didn't mean so much it was a sad day for treasure hunting in general. Most hunts end up this way. I was just saying I was feeling a bit sad because the interesting part of the hunt was over and now it's mostly a matter of endurance and/or luck. And I don't have much of either.

So, I'm like making an obnoxious concoction to eat, and thinking to myself, "This could be heaven, or this could be hell... But, green, you know - any port in a storm."

Any port in a storm? (Clue #3) The marina! :D

I think I've gotten my brave up. Gonna get layered and layered and head out to HI for a wee bit.

Sun, 01/26/2003 - 11:26 AM Permalink
Allison Wonderland

but i post my more far out and bizarre ideas. and i assume you all do the same. right?

Well in clue 5 if you assume the first line tells you it's a cipher and the second line is telling you to keep the 1's, and the third line is telling you to get rid of the 2's and 3's, and the last line is where the actual code is, then you divide up the last line into groups of three letters and just keep the first one, you get something not very useful. But if you drop the first word "When" and then do the same thing, you get letters that anagram into "At Mears". So am I onto something or is that one of those crazy ideas?

Sun, 01/26/2003 - 11:28 AM Permalink
green

GOOD LUCK, TERRY!!!

Allison, ittiz good to me. No crazier than things I've bome up with. It mite be a wee bit of reading too much into the clues, but then you're The Hunt Master and set hunts up, so what do *I* know?

Sun, 01/26/2003 - 11:30 AM Permalink
Allison Wonderland

Actually I don't really think it's at Mears. It's just that was about the only cipher I could get out of that clue.

Sun, 01/26/2003 - 11:33 AM Permalink

Looking at that clue, #4, and ciphering like you say, what I see is:

Keep 1.

3-2=1.

Then, depending (on what, gods only know!!!) you've got either 11, or 2.

I don't know. You know me and math...

morning every one. Just back from under the high bridge. Lot's of cooler crew there! Even got a sticker from Marleyking. Place is getting raked over pretty good.

Howdy, Mr. Mikey! :D Thanks fur the e-gram!!! Nice job. I was able to understand what I needed to do very well.

Sun, 01/26/2003 - 11:38 AM Permalink
green

oops.

Told you I wasn't good at math... Better go change that...

Sun, 01/26/2003 - 11:39 AM Permalink
green

Or... Would that be rite? Because the way the Clue reads "two or three"???

Then you'd have:

1+(-1)=0

And that's what I've got: ZERO left for brains!!! Ittiz all MUSH!

Sun, 01/26/2003 - 11:41 AM Permalink
Terry

PLEASE!!!!!

Don't get green doing math!!!!!!

We're layered and heading out. My weather bug says -1 degrees yet. Brrrrrrrrrrr
