I don't know....

the more I think about this ...the more I worry about it...

Everybody that has read the would agree by this piont it is a nutgoodie wrapper....

but OMG...why this easy??? why why why

maybe I better go back and tear it apart and put it back 2gethor.

The what it's in clue is often fairly easy once you identify that it is indeed the what it's in clue.

My thinking is that we get clue 1 really early and then clue 2 is figured out in about a minute.

We're not getting much to noodle.

I suspect that will change soon.

Yup, I agree.. For me it is staying obvious until I see another clue that looks to be a what's it in clue. Not that it can't be in 2 things, but I think this clue may be the calm before the storm... as far as clues go

I also think we have a medallion wrapped in the candy wrapper and then encased in some combination of ice and snow.

big time.

because they want us to support local businesses.

I would also think, that since nutgoodies contain... well... nuts.... that they're therefore heavier, and that makes them harder for squirrels or raccoons, or any other animal you want to blame it on, to run off with, than doughnuts are....

me2

haha nick- no lie - animals can smell candy that was once in the wrapper - I also agree with Terry, thats its also in ice or snow

I think we ar all just better noodlers now that we've been doing this for so long

shovelmaster summerized it well

or possibly a double-hid thing, such as the iron man sock and dove box in clue 5 of como '01. and if they're only giving us the inner half of the clue, we're no better off than we were on saturday afternoon.

hmmm....if this was a mock hunt...

I'd think that one of us would put the stumper in clue 1....

heck...heck maybe that is why the "master" showed up...to find out if somebody got it.

I keep going back to clue 1 like I am missing something... maybe because it is clue 2 and I don't feel any closer than I did last winter.... before the hunt.

I have a gut feeling we're missing a second clue in #2

What?

No, no... you misunderstood....

I dont brag about them, because I have none.

Why else would I be here?

I'm really a lurker... only I have a high post count, so nobody knows whats up.

Clue 2 could be easy for a few reasons. Those that are intimidated by us, or feel like they're not that good at hunting, get an easy clue to figure out in the beginning to get them feeling good and wanting to get out or follow more. Plus the writer could know that since it's the second clue, we'd tear the thing apart trying to find the hidden subliminal messages, when there isn't any. We'd go crazy on a wild goose chase.

my stretches of the day...

"Global warming" - a green house, domes at como,

warming house at skate rink...

"at rest" a park by a cemetery, or in a park by a memorial plaque.

where was the founder of person's buried?

sorry for the stretches, only got 2 clues to work with.

Wicked Nick

heh...

rice patty

for some reason, thats the first thing I thought of last night, when I saw the word "patty" in the clue...

but then I talked myself out of it, with all the nut-goodieisms being tossed around....

Son of Pear, hometown fare,

The nut of this yearÂ’s quest.

Sweetest patty, never a baddie,

Covers the prize at rest.

Son of Pear...pearson...ya duh..(I know)

the nut (medallion)

Sweetest Patty (the tinfoil)

"never a baddie" (Not the nutgoodie wrapper)

Need... another... clue...

Never had two clues and no real leads on a park.

But I like TMK's take on it, too. Did I say TMK? I meant Mr. Cocorosie. Get used to it :pbpt:

over the past 4 years(since boxmeyer retired as clue writer) there have been on average 3.2 hints by the 2nd clue.

clue #1

2005 1 hint

2004 1 hint

2003 2 "its parked among us" as in a park, among leaves, and "Faith be anew" by churches

2002 1

Clue #2

2005 3 hints. park name, water, and path in park.

2004 3 what it was hidden in"evil green donut", street name , and a landmark in park Island

2003 1

2002 1

So there should be at least 2 hints in one of the clues so far.

I'm going to have to believe the PP are not idiot enough to have kept the candy in the wrapper. Even if it's packed in snow or ice, critters have amazing noses, and would find it.

I'm just sayin'.

KITCH

hmmm....I might be taking my dog to the park this year.....

I wonder if I can train her to find a patty that fast???

she's got the nose for it...she can find a tennis ball no matter how buried in the snow it is.....(any tennis ball)

MedallionStallion

Say,

Just wanted to drop a line and say hello to everyone. I have a tight work schedule, so I'm trying to concentrate on getting lots done this week so I'm more free this weekend and next week.

Don't have much to add to the discussion about the first two clues, I never the first couple clues helpfull because they seem to indicate what the medallion is hidden in rather than where to find it. As I would pick up anything medallion sized while out digging I guess it don't much matter what it's hidden in to me. But I do like that the clues so far seem pretty straight forward, rather than all convaluted (sp?) like in the last couple years.

See you all out there!

Just a noodle .... what if "hard to park" means NOT in a park? What if 'fare' relates to Ramsey County Fairgrounds.

Yes, I know that the fairgrounds are in Maplewood - but they are not owned by Maplewood - they would be Ramsey County?

noodle .... noodle.... :eyeroll:

Hi MedallionStallion...look forward to seeing you soon and hearing about how things are going.
Mon, 01/23/2006 - 12:39 PM Permalink
KT

the fairgrounds are not in Maplewood, they're in Falcon Heights. And the Fairgrounds are private land.

so to sum up- no.
Mon, 01/23/2006 - 12:44 PM Permalink
KITCH

she's talking about the "ramsey county fairgrounds"

county not state....

but its still PRIVATE land...so yep...still no.
