Clue #1 Congrats to the finder, to all a reminder
To hunt hard from first to last clues
Medallion I is history. Now a new mystery
Begins -- strap on your hunting shoes

To some its demented, for all unprecedented
But hunters’ thirst must be quenched
Tell sister and brother we’ve hidden another
In a park where a body can be benched

Our 2nd prize? Don’t laugh -- 10-thou cut in half
So get out there even if it’s snowy
And as a special bonus -- some might say an onus --
A meal with our own Clueless Joey

Good hunting to you, let this be the first clue
Think of a woodsy retreat
It won’t be so hard if you channel the bard
You’ll get warm and smell pretty sweet
Clue #2 If you\'re thinking big you\'re sure to dig
Near flora with growing pain
Winter or summer is never a bummer
A menagerie of fun wild or tame
Clue #3 Success on the third clue will never do
We had to stash a second
Round you go if you seek to know
Where swatters of orbs are beckoned
Clue #4: A walk in the park can be a lark
If cell phones are left at home
Heed the siren of your desirin\'
And do not revolt against this poem
Clue #5 Over hill and dale hit the trail
With a handy locating device
Fulfill your wishes like loaves and fishes
And put your victory on ice
Clue #6 A famous singer and a diamond dinger
Might put you oh so close to the spot
With the whites of your eyes you should look for the prize
Within this convenient plot
Clue #7 Don\'t turn up your noses at the city of roses
The home of the park that you seek
It\'s just north of town so come on down
Our hunt is not for the meek
Clue #8 Don\'t go mental just head for Central
Lexington Avenue will show you the way
Your spirits won\'t sag when you see the big flag
Into the trees you want to stray

So it would be the batters box?

I still think it's golf. I'm stubborn that way. But I reserve the right to change my mind. :pbpt:

Channeling in the spirital sense

Orb (paranormal), a phenomenon that can be seen by some people with the naked eye, though more usually are captured on camera, considered by some to be paranormal and by others to be caused by the camera flash reflecting off dust.

Bodies can be benched?

Supernatural stretch? lol

I think the supernatural idea is a stretch, but I can't help myself, a swatter of orbs might be beckoned to a cemetary.

Can you communicate with them and get them to lead us to victory? If so, its a go!

I do! But they never talk back.

Well, except for that one time......

A couple Shakespearean orb references:

From 12th Night: Foolery, sir, does walk about the orb like the sun, it shines everywhere.

From R&J: Romeo: Lady, by yonder blessed moon I swear,

That tips with silver all these fruit-tree tops—

Juliet: O, swear not by the moon, the inconstant moon,

That monthly changes in her circled orb,

Lest that thy love prove likewise variable.

and if there are orbs flying around :worried:

lol OT! its hard to get them to cooperate, they're so stuck in their ways...

That's referring to the earth and the moon. That's a lot of territory to cover!

More than I could do in a lifetime!

Otis - if it's IM, that would please me. There must be something there that makes you think so. I'll go do some scouting there tomorrow and see if anything speaks to me.
Thu, 01/25/2007 - 10:36 PM Permalink
OT

That made me laugh a little. If something speaks to you make sure it's not an orb!

This clue does not inspire me to any deep thinking, it seems very face value. Doesn't really clarify anything, just gives fairly common park feature.

If it's an orb speaking - Region's isn't far from IM. :goofy:

or just listen, it might know the way! (to the coin, not Regions)

Terry, here is some of the rationale for IM (from the PP boards, written before tonight's clue)

I'm still thinking it could be at Mounds Park here's why: (Also a Big Park)

Strap on your hunting shoes (snowshoes, or hiking boots for all the trails that run through the woods right there)

for all unprecedented(1st hunt ending after only 3 clues)

But huntersÂ’ thirst must be quenched (Bar and convenience store directly across the street)

Tell sister and brother (rhyme for another)

In a park where a body can be benched (Body and Benched could refer to Judges named Clarence Thomas "Clarence St." and William Douglas "Pt. Douglas Rd" all of which intersect directly at mounds. (thanks to Shoreview Dave for that one.)

So get out there even if itÂ’s snowy (buried in the snow)

Think of a woodsy retreat (Burns,English,Clarence,& Pt. Douglas all intersect right at a large wooded area)

It wonÂ’t be so hard if you channel the bard (channel is "English channel" "English St" the "Bard" is a poet "Robert Burns" who wrote "A bards epitaph"{thanks again Shoreview Dave})

Near flora with growing pain (Thorn St.)which is just to the west of Burns,English,Pt. Douglas,Clarence intersection.

A menagerie can refer to a "royal court" a.k.a. "supreme court" also reference to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas...

YouÂ’ll get warm and smell pretty sweet (?)(probably what the puck is hidden in...Hot Cocoa mix, ETC.

Thanks leelabell.

I have also noodled a good portion of that...but Como seems such a good fit.

I think the puck is hidden in some sort of Avon packaging, but hot cocoa mix sounds inviting.

On Como Avenue, nearer to Rice Street... there is a "psychic" who does readings and all of that... I thought about stopping in there yesterday, for schmidts and giggles... But then I'd just stay home the rest of the hunt, and not be quite so happy in the end...
