Matty B\'s is the home of the Cooler Crew. We\'ve got a party going on every evening from 8 until the clue is released. Sunday night, if the hunt goes that long, the bar will be open but food will not be available.

Recent Clues:

Clue #1 Congrats to the finder, to all a reminder
To hunt hard from first to last clues
Medallion I is history. Now a new mystery
Begins -- strap on your hunting shoes

To some its demented, for all unprecedented
But hunters’ thirst must be quenched
Tell sister and brother we’ve hidden another
In a park where a body can be benched

Our 2nd prize? Don’t laugh -- 10-thou cut in half
So get out there even if it’s snowy
And as a special bonus -- some might say an onus --
A meal with our own Clueless Joey

Good hunting to you, let this be the first clue
Think of a woodsy retreat
It won’t be so hard if you channel the bard
You’ll get warm and smell pretty sweet
Clue #2 If you\'re thinking big you\'re sure to dig
Near flora with growing pain
Winter or summer is never a bummer
A menagerie of fun wild or tame
Clue #3 Success on the third clue will never do
We had to stash a second
Round you go if you seek to know
Where swatters of orbs are beckoned
Clue #4: A walk in the park can be a lark
If cell phones are left at home
Heed the siren of your desirin\'
And do not revolt against this poem
Clue #5 Over hill and dale hit the trail
With a handy locating device
Fulfill your wishes like loaves and fishes
And put your victory on ice
Clue #6 A famous singer and a diamond dinger
Might put you oh so close to the spot
With the whites of your eyes you should look for the prize
Within this convenient plot
Clue #7 Don\'t turn up your noses at the city of roses
The home of the park that you seek
It\'s just north of town so come on down
Our hunt is not for the meek
Clue #8 Don\'t go mental just head for Central
Lexington Avenue will show you the way
Your spirits won\'t sag when you see the big flag
Into the trees you want to stray

The Bard's channel was the "Avon" river channel. That and smelling sweet makes me think The Medallion's hidden in some cologne box from Avon.

However,.. Avon runs just east of CoNo

Coolerheads will Prevail!!!!!!!!! Way to go Jake! If it had to be found on the 3rd clue, I'm glad it was someone who knows the hunt like you.

I had to go to a school open house last night -- wished we could have witnessed the press conference, but it was not to be.

Good luck to all on hunt #2!!!

My guess is they had two sets of clues the thought there would be snow and that's why the first was found so quick.

Now we get the no snow clues and it's most likly in a wooded area.

Good Morning, I see there is a new clue to noodle. When I get to the office I'll see what i can do. I feel great for jake, but i also feel like I gave it away and that might of been my only chance to pick the thing out of the snow myself. Im lucky jake is a nice guy and gave me a lot of credit.

Cottage runs into North Dale Rec Center- but its too small and why would they pic a rec center if it was found in 3 days.

Anyone else sensing a lack of interest in this second hunt? :frown:

I compare it to being invited to play in an NIT tournament instead of the Rose Bowl.

I'm going to try to get back on that horse though.

Good point, Tim.

I was telling my son last night that it was more fun before the internet when people would discuss the clues around the dinner table and then pack up the family and go hunting. And they could be more creative where they hid it because no one would expect thousands of people to converge on the same site.

Imagine if that long clue had been for the original hunt! We would have been noodling every line in there and have had hundreds of posts already.

I think we're all coming down from the emotions of last night. I was thinking how the psyche of the treasure is that we have another chance to find the medallion, not that we have another chance to go through the disappointment.

As far as Brassmonkey setting things back, it would be sad. He did it because of the spirit of sharing. While he did not find it, he will be tied to the lore for the rest of our lives. And if people on the PP boards do not want to share ideas, then that's their perogative. We all share what we want with whom we want. I don't know if that will change with ourselves. One of our own found it, and we're all happy for him. It's kind of like family finding it.

Actually, there's been quite a bit of sharing going on at the PP boards today. A smaller cast of characters for sure, but those that are posting seem to be sincere and I haven't seen any nastiness YET. Give it time.

Hi just now checking in again. I haven't read any of the posts since the new clues. The "brother and sister" got me thinking of the 1998 hunt in Cherokee. Wasn'

t it a brother and sister who found the medallion in an Old Navy sock. My 2 cents.

Again, I haven't read any recent noodles, so forgive me if this old news. A body can be benched on a chair - "Chair"-o-kee.

seconded. i've said it countless times. if you don't want someone using your idea and finding the thing. keep it to yourself. we're all here because more heads thinking on a clue is always better than one. i guarantee you that people the people who are complaining about someone using an idea that wasn't original to them wouldn't be, were the shoe on the other foot and it was they who used someone else's noodle to find the puck. jake and brass monkey handled the situation very graciously and professionally at the press last night. hats off to both of them!

Someone at PP just pointed out that "for all unprecedented" is incorrect. There was another second medallion of course.

He's suggesting that it means this is the first time they hid it in the same place back-to-back.

Something to consider.
Wed, 01/24/2007 - 9:19 AM Permalink
Brassmonkey

That could mean that it was found so fast.
Wed, 01/24/2007 - 9:22 AM Permalink

my though is that "for all unprecedented" is a reference to the fact that its never been found in 3 clues before.
