Recent Clues:

Clue #1 Congrats to the finder, to all a reminder
To hunt hard from first to last clues
Medallion I is history. Now a new mystery
Begins -- strap on your hunting shoes

To some its demented, for all unprecedented
But hunters’ thirst must be quenched
Tell sister and brother we’ve hidden another
In a park where a body can be benched

Our 2nd prize? Don’t laugh -- 10-thou cut in half
So get out there even if it’s snowy
And as a special bonus -- some might say an onus --
A meal with our own Clueless Joey

Good hunting to you, let this be the first clue
Think of a woodsy retreat
It won’t be so hard if you channel the bard
You’ll get warm and smell pretty sweet
Clue #2 If you\'re thinking big you\'re sure to dig
Near flora with growing pain
Winter or summer is never a bummer
A menagerie of fun wild or tame
Clue #3 Success on the third clue will never do
We had to stash a second
Round you go if you seek to know
Where swatters of orbs are beckoned
Clue #4: A walk in the park can be a lark
If cell phones are left at home
Heed the siren of your desirin\'
And do not revolt against this poem
Clue #5 Over hill and dale hit the trail
With a handy locating device
Fulfill your wishes like loaves and fishes
And put your victory on ice
Clue #6 A famous singer and a diamond dinger
Might put you oh so close to the spot
With the whites of your eyes you should look for the prize
Within this convenient plot
Clue #7 Don\'t turn up your noses at the city of roses
The home of the park that you seek
It\'s just north of town so come on down
Our hunt is not for the meek
Clue #8 Don\'t go mental just head for Central
Lexington Avenue will show you the way
Your spirits won\'t sag when you see the big flag
Into the trees you want to stray

I've never met oysterking, but I have met Jim Hoy. He was in my singles club for a while. He said oysterking was a coworker of his. Seems to have a strange fascination with Jim.

How about this for a convenient plot? "A plot is a causal sequence of events, the "why" for the things that happen in the story" Heard any good stories?

This is from the PP board:

This is from the "Midsummer Night Dream." I dont know if it means anything, but there are a few of the clues in this:

This called Over Hill, Over Dale

Over hill, over dale,

    Through bush, through briar,

Over park, over pale,

    Through blood, through fire,

I do wander everywhere,

Swifter than the mooneÂ’s sphere;

And I serve the fairy queen,

To dew her orbs upon the green.

The cowslips tall her pensioners be:

In their gold coats spots you see;

Those be rubies, fairy favours,

In those freckles live their savours:

I must go seek some dewdrops here,

And hang a pearl in every cowslipÂ’s ear.

Farewell, thou lob of spirits; IÂ’ll be gone:

Our queen and all her elves come here anon.

I just saw something on the PP boards that a convenient plot could mean "central".

this last clue creates some interesting arguments for Central...

However, it seems so obvious, it's nearly unbelievable. Like the CW knows were going to struggle with all these street references, and tell ourselves "no way"....

It feels like a fairy tale head game....

The singer and diamond dinger is an almost worthless clue because you could likely make it fit whatever park you were already thinking of. The key to this clue seems to be figuring out what they mean by using the whites of your eyes to find the prize.

hee- a Bard would refer to eyes as orbs....

Now I feel like swatting my eyes.

but you don't see with the whites of your eyes....you see with the colored part...so are we looking for something wrapped in white?

and that convenient plot reference. The clue says the prize is withing that. But the convenient plot could also refer to a plot of the rest of the clues. Grrrrr!

White eyes = get the red out?
Mon, 01/29/2007 - 9:05 AM Permalink
Allison Wonderland

White Eyes (c.1730–November 1778), was a leader of the Delaware (Lenape) people in the Ohio Country during the era of the American Revolution. Sometimes known as George White Eyes, his given name was something like Koquethagechton, which was rendered in many spelling variations. White Eyes was a tireless mediator in turbulent times, negotiating the first Indian treaties with the fledgling United States, always working towards his ultimate of goal of establishing a secure Indian territory. His death under mysterious circumstances during the American Revolutionary War may have been an act of murder covered up by United States officials.

Coming face-to-face with someone who looks scared triggers an automatic response in the brain that tells you to be afraid too, US researchers suggest.

Two studies found we respond to even the most subliminal danger messages.

One, in Science, found seeing the whites of the eyes triggered a danger message in the brain.

checked out central last night, the crowd was severely diminished after the last few nights.

this sucks, folks. it should be getting us closer to a spot and everyone is more confused than they ever were. even if we did figure out this clue, i'm willing to bet it's just another park identifier and not a clue getting us to a spot within the park. on top of that, i'm completely confused why they would use this many street references in a hunt.

excerpt from a convo I'm having with a person in sweden.

 Revolutionary war memorial?

"Don't shoot until you see the whites of your eyes" is what comes to mind with that sentance.

 OK...SO.

Revolutionary war memorial on a ball diamond, near an outdoor theater named after Shakespear, in the dugout where you mobile phone won't work.

EASY

KT got it.

KT I'm off to that place then.

Pumpkin: It'll be under the left nut of Paul Revere's horse, who's name was Perry Como, burried in an old left hand pitchers glove (Babe Ruth) and covered in a copy of Hamelt

Pumpkin: hamelt? I MUST be hungry. Hamlet that was supposed to read.

KT got it- perry cono's horses nuts in a ham omelet, cooked in a revere ware pan.

MY THINKIN' ITS A TENNIS COURT CLUE...NOT BASEBALL FOR SWATTERS OF ORBS.
Mon, 01/29/2007 - 10:21 AM Permalink
Big G

Orb weaver spiders commonly build their webs across backlit windows. This encourages flying insects, which are attracted to light, thus providing the spiders with food. Diminishing such light sources at night will help discourage spider build up on windows.

Use of mechanical devices such as fly swatters, shop vacs, brooms, etc. will help keep their numbers down. Remember, tolerance is also an option.

My theory on the numerous clues pointing to Central is the rarity of it actually being hidden outside of a Saint Paul Park.....Your going to have the non-belivers that cant fathom they would hide it their, your going to have potential police interference, your going to have people much less familiar with this park.

U add all these variables up and in the end maybe they needed to over-compensate a bit with the obvious thats why we have so many hits on the street names

I'm stuck on the siren clue as well. if we heed the siren, it will have a bad result, as the tale of the sirens goes. heed the "siren song" and you'll be in trouble. but the clue is essentially telling you to heed your desires AND don't revolt against the clues.

so if your heart tells you como and the clues tell you central....go to both. geez.

Don't know if this was posted previously:

2005 Crosby Farm park location Clue 4 talked about 'a siren calls".Siren refered to the Odyssy, the poem by Homer, the singing poet.Field generals in this clue refered to the Illayd, and street names, so it is not unusual for the clue writers to double mean something.

The question is whether it would be unusual for the cluewriters to double meaning the same thing twice for the same park in different years. "diamond dinger" and "sirens" both point to homer st which runs into Crosby (our famous singer Bing).
