Matty B\'s is the home of the Cooler Crew. We\'ve got a party going on every evening from 8 until the clue is released. Sunday night, if the hunt goes that long, the bar will be open but food will not be available.
Recent Clues:
Clue #1 Congrats to the finder, to all a reminder
To hunt hard from first to last clues
Medallion I is history. Now a new mystery
Begins -- strap on your hunting shoes
To some its demented, for all unprecedented
But hunters’ thirst must be quenched
Tell sister and brother we’ve hidden another
In a park where a body can be benched
Our 2nd prize? Don’t laugh -- 10-thou cut in half
So get out there even if it’s snowy
And as a special bonus -- some might say an onus --
A meal with our own Clueless Joey
Good hunting to you, let this be the first clue
Think of a woodsy retreat
It won’t be so hard if you channel the bard
You’ll get warm and smell pretty sweet

actually he left the bar at about 1240 said he had to be there by 830 this am.
They never admitted to Level in Cleveland and never mentioned that cleveland was a ruler (president) the clue fits perfectly and the puck was right there. I think the the CW likes to use double word plays and double meanings to reveal something that the masses wont solve, that makes it real fun for long noodling and a sense of accomplishment for the hunters if they figure it out. I also think it is a sense of pride for the CW if he/she can tell you right where the puck is and nobody ever figures it out, therfore I believe you will find things in the clues which really pinpoint it if you solve it. i.e. first hunt 2007.
Just my thoughts
for the 13th or 14th time
anagramming etc...everything for the rest of the year? figure out his/her tricks?
I guess the crew cut will wait for another day. :pbpt:
Thanks for asking.
Oh, and you're fun too!
this was a great extended hunt and reminds me of harriet/como quite a bit - this is what the CC is all about - meeting people and developing friendships. The cameraderie of it really makes it enjoyable year after year.
thanks for the fun times all
Even with the shortened version, I think I got out more this year than any previous years. And that for me is more important than finding the medallion. Winter puts me in a bad place most of the time. :frown: But for a couple of weeks in January the medallion hunt gets me moving and gives me new energy.
And today is Feb. 1st! I equate it to August when people start to worry that Summer is almost over. So Winter is almost over! Hasn't been a bad one!
would be fun to get all the peeps together instead of bits and pieces etc,
not to rain on your parade Rob, but have you seen the spot where Jake found the medallion?
It's snowing today...
And it means nothing.
Thanks all!
I sure wasn't.
Thanks for everything Leelabell!
Hope your foots ok.
Q. Do the clues sometimes mean more than what's reflected in the after-hunt summary? There's often some good stuff in there that doesn't get pointed out in the "answers". Maybe I just noodle too much. -Lori Larson
ANSWER
Our rhymes are silly, we cannot lie
There's less to them than meets the eye.
1) The explanations are ridiculous. I need better explanations to like the clues.
2) If the PP continues down the path of giving park, park, park, park, park, park, clues (particularly in big parks) rather than those that might narrow down the area in the park, they are going to shoot themselves in the foot. Instead of people anxiously awaiting each paper, people will just say the hell with it and wait until clue 10 to start hunting.
That being said, I still had a great time and thought it was a really, really, fun hunt.
PS There is a rumor of another Wild flag hunt sometime this year.
and some people like Jake won't.
I'd like to try the dance possibly, if my wife will go for it.
No I havent, but I do remeber Jake telling everyone that he would not have found it without me and that it was close to being in-line with the Cleveland sign.
So I guess Im not sure where you are going with this? Either you think it was a Coincidence in the clues or for some reason you feel bitter and feel like being rude.
Either way thanks for the rude comment.
I just wanted to drop in and say that I have soooo much to say! I have to collect my thoughts and get them all down first.
I talked with Caroline Robertson this afternoon and we missed the press conference :frown: - but its probably been posted already and you all probably know about that
Most of all I NEEEEED ALL of you to know that I'm a grateful .... for all of you...
and I am proud of everyones human kindness this hunt.
there are so many stories that I am compiling for this hunt - the conference call is bottom line Priceless! The bonfire and calls from people asking if they can bring me anything! I LOVE YOU GUYS! I probably spent 20 hours at home during this hunt - 10 days in the parks and 12 nights at Matt B's.
I am asking that someone make 3 threads please for me...
1. A borrowed or found or want back thread
for everyone who has forgotten who they got things from or want someone to know they have it. Like I have Muclucks snow pants.
2. A thread for 2007 Central memories and stories they heard
3. A thread for ANY and ALL people you have met or stories you have over the years of how someone you know knows someone---
I want to compile stories (maybe for a book of some kind)- St Paul Treasure Hunt - Six Degree of Seperation (and other hunting stories) (anything is greately appreciated). When I mentioned it to Caroline she told me I should work on it, that noone has really written about the hunters and their stories and people they've met- so here I go. My past street names book may have to wait a bit  :frown:
ie: KityKat? Is that the blond at MattyB's who knows my sister and joined the coolercrew without even knowing she was my sister?
I am calling the finders and inviting them to Re-Hash-
3. A thread for ANY and ALL people you have met or stories you have over the years of how someone you know knows someone---
#3 is done already. check in wampeters folder
KITCH, "Six Degrees Of Seperation" #2, 1 Feb 2007 2:49 pm #2 we already have a favorite story thread? #1 sounds like a good idea. A book sounds great!
havent seen the place jake found it - but i have been told by a couple avid hunters that have seen it that they never woudl have looked there even with lining up of cleveland - i.e. it was in a difficult area - both of these people who have seen the space also told me the only people they would have thinked to looke there was either jake or geo cachers......i cant speak for ian but i do know that he doesnt have a mean bone in his body.
