Medallion Hotline 651-228-5547
Clue #1 You've joined the hunt for the regal runt
To prove searching does pay
Don't dig a hole or knock down a pole
And the golf course is out of play
Last year Jake took home the cake
With a clue a bit off level
This year we'll rinse off all our prints
Lest this hunt go to the devil
Clue #2 The point of all this is so that you won't miss
Your big chance to grab all the cash
Now gather your guys and a gal who is wise
You'll have to do something quite rash
Clue #3 We've scanned the county to hide our bounty
And keep you on your toes
It may sound risible, but our puck's invisible
Although it might just stick to your nose.
Clue #4 How fun is the snow how far will we go
You really ought to go see
Get up for the mission and not just the wishin'
Get into the game-it's all free
Clue #5 There once was a clue that drove you-know-who
To threaten a heinous act
We'd use it again but we're afraid of his pen
My friend, that's an unfortunate fact
Clue #6 All ye who look should honor the book
As one who stood for hope
Much was built in the name of the kilt
Look sharp now and never mope
Clue #7 If you should go look high then low
One could see it from a bower
If it's your bent you might seek a tent
To protect in case of shower
Take note of the wood and do what you should
To extract the prize for yourself
Build a bridge to your dreams as high as they seem
Leave nothing behind on the shelf
Clue #8 Look at the buck to acquire good luck
In finding the grail this year
Link a jar,a line, a star lawyer divine
While crying in your beer
He won, then lost and the nation was tossed
Into strife that was far from civil
The point I'm making is yours for the taking
Believe me - not the message board drivel
Clue #9 This name brings tears, elation and cheers
And occasionally even outrages
It sits on walls and rides the halls
And fills a dozen pages
The hills are alive and you'll have arrived
Refrain from the very injurious
Be bold and be brave but your skin you must save
What's off-limits should frankly be obvious
Clue #10 Look for the sight you hope is just right
You're doubtful and you're torn
Make the rounds for what rhymes with grounds
And part of a rose with a horn
Through flames and flow this park where you'll go
Is the site of sacred relics
Stay away from these and the cliffs if you please
Or you'll be in a heckuva fix
Clue #11 Air and river sounds lead all to Mounds
Far from the graves take your entourage
Twixt Burns and Thorn, an icy pathway is born
Across Mounds from a gray house and tan garage
Hell no fury hath as those on the wrong path
Mounds and Warner form a woodsy perimeter
The path not official contains footprints beneficial
Some 300 trudges in - quest for a quitter
This trail you must follow goes down a narrow hollow
Under a fallen tree to an old rusted drum
From here you must search for a hillside path perch
Wherein lies the center of fun

And I really like the Ramsey/Wa(r)shington County line idea! Fits in with my two-parks-that-are-really-one idear.
"Brige" had Bridgeman's pop into my head. Sunray. Don't even know if ittiz still there enkneemore.
I do,though, think there will be a mad dash at the end, but not because everyone was sitting around 100 ft away, awaiting the phone call to tell them in which direction to go. More of a Harriet/CoNo kind'a dash. "Holy Crow, that's the park." Or, "Holy Crow, that's the spot." That kind'a deal.
As much as I hate these Clues because I'm not figuring them out, I love them as they do remind me o'Chair-O-Key in that I just could NOT get those Clues. Recent history, the Clues have been so easy (Coco Mocha, etc.) that it wasn't even fun wracking my brain.
I like these Clues, I hate these Clues. I truly believe these Clues are way off par for Par... I think the Clue Writer is someone of above average intelligence, is a long-time resident, enjoys writing, and has a damn good knowledge of the history of the area as well as The Medallion Hunt. I also think ittiz someone that loves what they're doing and really enjoys effin' with all Hunters. I think they also have a sense and feeling for what this Hunt needs in a time of WiFi, laptops and cellphones.
Whomever is writing these Clues is truly making it a Hunt. Now, I reserve the right to change my mind and flame the Clue Writer(s) come xplination time, but I don't think it will come to that.
Dome, Demo, Mode, Rosebud, Chair, Keynote speaker.
This is your father's Hunt.
Nothing in Battle Creek leads to the Masons with four of them.
That's how much fun they had. And they enjoyed doing it together. They had a blast noodling between the two of them how they were going screw with our minds. They had FUN. Like we were/are having.
So, it would make sense to me either together or alone they'd get back in the Game. I like to think they have with this Hunt and these Clues.
Yes, I'm an old nostalgic fart. Fun to think one could even BE nostaligic over The Cooler Crew. Again, I say, "I told you so!" LOL!!
Woodbury is right by Battle Creak.

The second part of the clue, I believe, is in reference to Dred Scott. In addition to the links I posted last night while googling all sorts of interesting stuff regarding the beginning of the Civil War, there is this one too: http://www.mnhs.org/library/tips/history_topics/99scott.html
My theory is that it is Dred Scott's suit to be a freed slave along with his wife, Harriet and their two children, that he first won and then ultimately lost at the Supreme Court level, was a contributing factor to the beginning of the Civil War. That case added to the tensions between the north and south. Though no one thing alone was the cause of that war, there is more than one reference that it was a contributing factor.
I think Oscar's Razor would get me if I went Masons-Mason's Root Beer-Swede Hollow.
North/South. Such be UPPER and LOWER Afton Roads.
I think I'm going to Dred the xplination to these Clues.
How's everyone doing wolfpac? How's the shingles. I know those are miserable.
It had been posted previoulsy about the points on a drawing compass-thighy and so I 'read' that when I first saw your post. But in reading your post again... I don't know.
To which type of compass do you refer, Me2?
"Burr was devoted to his longtime hobby, cultivating and hybridizing orchids. He later developed this passion into an orchid business. Burr even developed an orchid he named the Barbara Hale Orchid.[6]"
I see that the Douglas Point thing has already been mentioned... that's the only thing I can really get out of this clue with certainty
Quick conspiracy theory...
Notice how in the first clue:
This year we'll rinse off all our prints
Why didn't they say 'This year we rinsed off all our prints'
"We'll rinse" implies they haven't hid it yet
LOL!
My car was a mess after driving down Water St. to Lilydale. Lots of pot holes. I saw more cars in line at the car wash than at any of the parks I visited.
I can twist these clues to fit a half dozen parks. It is driving me crazy...
Chances are looking good that this one's gonna go to 12 clues. :goofy:
I have a feeling it is way up north, along the boarder of Ramsey County (I like Bald Eagle/Otter Lake)..
Regal runt, Regal eagle, eagle also on dollar bill.
we've searched the county to hide our bounty; to me means not limited to St. Paul.
The look to the North idea from the clue from 2003.. and How far we will go? Some place further north than ever before?
There are clues I definitely can not put up there, but the one that makes us think of scotch could just be that it is inside of a scotch tape dispenser.
The more clues that come out, the less I feel like I know the park..
Maybe someday I'll come out and meet all you all. I've lurked and made a post or two for the last 8 years or so, I recognize most of your names, and appreciate the help I've gotten here that has put me in the correct park year after year (I missed last year, my brain had the start date wrong, the day I thought I needed my button registered by was the day it was found!!).
Anyway, they certainly are keeping us "on our toes".
Other parks I like; Keller/Phalen (or specifically Spoon Lake), Highland (seems too obvious), Wheelock Parkway, Down town someplace (I half expect to find it in an ice sculpture this afternoon).
Ah well,
off to get a turkey in the oven, and to go see some ice.
D
Now look at the arial shot-an invisible street appears.
Go up to the top of the overlook and look out and see the 1st National Bank building (the "buck") and the Highbridge.
Take the trail to your left- you'll go up then down, you will eventually find a wood bridge for bikes, surrounded by stone shelves!
If your in the mood to cry at this point, look out and you'll see pigs eye, not My beer, but a MN one anyway.
the bike trails have posts all through the path..
Any thoughts?
I like the eagle idea. Me, too, don't know what it means, but I like it. I like the "the more I hear... the less I know? idea. I never thought about that that if he/they are talking about a singular park way out in the county, yeah, the more I hear about it the more Iknow I know it less!
Like, say a father's talking to his little girls about a hide/seek game for candy and the father - not wanting the girls to know a) he's done it already so they don't take off looking, and b) to increase their fun and antcipation says, "I will hide the candy and leave no prints; I'll hide the candy where it can't be found," even though he's hid it already.
Maybe that's what the Clue Writer was doing - talking like that.
Then to my sister's for supper.
Might get to Wild Tymes later. Found their listing, but not able to pull up the location page or any parking info. If anyone can post some helpful hints for parking in that area, that would be cool - thanks.
Did you slog, what we call reading all the posts you missed while out hunting?
I'd posted where I think they're talking about one park that many think of as two. It would be rash to write the clues - and a rash way for us to think - if the singluar park was used and not as two seperate parks.
You were in that singular park in the, I think, BC section. Or is that section now Mounds?
I'm liking the area of Mounds that goes up from 61, Pt. Douglas, Mt. Etna west. I don't know how cliffy ittiz in there but I want to check.
I think the things you've seen really make a lot of sense.
Im really liking bc--- shakes head but we may be back in como, hell!, heard there were 100 people on Harriet Island!!!!
BC ladies were at Como - heh
- :frown: very sorry bout last night
