Clue #1 You've joined the hunt for the regal runt
To prove searching does pay
Don't dig a hole or knock down a pole
And the golf course is out of play

Last year Jake took home the cake
With a clue a bit off level
This year we'll rinse off all our prints
Lest this hunt go to the devil

Clue #2 The point of all this is so that you won't miss
Your big chance to grab all the cash
Now gather your guys and a gal who is wise
You'll have to do something quite rash

Clue #3 We've scanned the county to hide our bounty
And keep you on your toes
It may sound risible, but our puck's invisible
Although it might just stick to your nose.

Clue #4 How fun is the snow how far will we go
You really ought to go see
Get up for the mission and not just the wishin'
Get into the game-it's all free

Clue #5 There once was a clue that drove you-know-who
To threaten a heinous act
We'd use it again but we're afraid of his pen
My friend, that's an unfortunate fact

Clue #6 All ye who look should honor the book
As one who stood for hope
Much was built in the name of the kilt
Look sharp now and never mope

Clue #7 If you should go look high then low
One could see it from a bower
If it's your bent you might seek a tent
To protect in case of shower

Take note of the wood and do what you should
To extract the prize for yourself
Build a bridge to your dreams as high as they seem
Leave nothing behind on the shelf

Clue #8 Look at the buck to acquire good luck
In finding the grail this year
Link a jar,a line, a star lawyer divine
While crying in your beer

He won, then lost and the nation was tossed
Into strife that was far from civil
The point I'm making is yours for the taking
Believe me - not the message board drivel

Clue #9 This name brings tears, elation and cheers
And occasionally even outrages
It sits on walls and rides the halls
And fills a dozen pages

The hills are alive and you'll have arrived
Refrain from the very injurious
Be bold and be brave but your skin you must save
What's off-limits should frankly be obvious

Clue #10 Look for the sight you hope is just right
You're doubtful and you're torn
Make the rounds for what rhymes with grounds
And part of a rose with a horn

Through flames and flow this park where you'll go
Is the site of sacred relics
Stay away from these and the cliffs if you please
Or you'll be in a heckuva fix

Clue #11 Air and river sounds lead all to Mounds
Far from the graves take your entourage
Twixt Burns and Thorn, an icy pathway is born
Across Mounds from a gray house and tan garage

Hell no fury hath as those on the wrong path
Mounds and Warner form a woodsy perimeter
The path not official contains footprints beneficial
Some 300 trudges in - quest for a quitter

This trail you must follow goes down a narrow hollow
Under a fallen tree to an old rusted drum
From here you must search for a hillside path perch
Wherein lies the center of fun

The parking lot off of frost was pretty full. I haven't been to Highland since the 2nd clue, but I think that it will always seem more crowded because it's a much more concentrated area; Phalen/Keller is so spread out that it will never seem crowded until they narrow it down to a specific part of the park. I'll bet the number of people at both parks today was actually pretty close to even.

Does anyone have an interpretation of CLue #5 that might fit any other park other than Como or Phalen?

Brassmonkey

a lot fits that area but no one there today.

A bunch of us were at Keller. It was 3m, Chris Digger, Mucluck, Zeph, Nick, Carolyn, Iceman, and myself. I'm sure I'm forgetting someone else too.

Could clue five be purposely vague. Let me re-phrase that, insanely vague, such that you have to completely reach for the meaning.

lol I had a feeling it was Zephy, I thought I saw his truck. we were just coming home from the Klondike Kate Caboret down town, and had to get baby girl home and in bed. I'm hoping to get out tonight if I can get my piece of crap car up and running.

Ive been thinking about conway and wakfield as second tier options but i cannot make them go away entirely

Its nice to have a fun hunt but at what point does it become ridiculos, the hunt is supposed to be about solving the clues and narrowing it down.

It is clue 8 tonight and it seems like it could still be open to 3 parks. Obviuosly they dont want it found to early but whats the point of making it so vague that we wind up just waiting to the last clue when it doesnt matter how much time and noodling you put in.

OKAY EVRYONE - The deed is done. I've spilled my guts to the world on the PP page. Take a look at "Everyone Loves a Weiner (dog)" and see what you think

bc also goes from high elevation all the way down to the river.

I'm still listing Keller as my #1. I really think the cluewriter is jst messing with us.

Clue 5: Sucherey's column which points to Como

Clue 6: the old Gelette building which points to Phalen

clue 7: St Dennis sts, the bridge and tent which point to Highland

I don't think it's any of those. as much as those clues say those parks, I can also fit every clue to Keller. Take clue 7, high then low, lots of up and down slopes in keller picnic grounds. Bower, my secret spot in the park that fits the description of a bower perfect if you see it (a man's got to keep a bit of an upper hand right?). Tent to protect you, tons of shelters there (13 to be exact) one even shaped a bit like a tent. Take note of the wood. not woods, so wood as in Maplewood. Still haven't got the bridge part. But my point is I'm still on Keller and think every other park is the cluewriter taking advantage of our desire to jump on the hot park based on one clue.

I was at highland today. Has anyone seen the new playground they have there? It has the best slide I've ever seen. That suckers high and steep.
Sat, 01/26/2008 - 2:41 PM Permalink

saw it, its certainly a possibility.

noted that slide as well, i was almost tempted to try it out

ugh... lol I'm sooo torn between parks. I like Highland, because of the Scotts, I like Como because of McMurry Fields, and Keller seems to fit too.

Does it bother anyone that we're already at clue 7 and there is no mention of St Paul, Park, ice, water, ball fields, picnic tables, trails, and the list goes on.

It sounds like they want this one NOT to be found lol

I didnt see any coolers today, yesterday a lot of people were at the south side of phalen. AW and I wound up digging the same area with new daddy not far away. today it feels like everyone was scattered.

I was digging at an area for 2 hours left for 15 minutes to talk to new daddy and when i came back AW was there. we had the same spot picked out, pretty funny.

I wasn't there. But my brother lives on Ivy on that stretch of the park. He mentioned the snow men his kids and he built in the park there were disemboweled by medallion hunters. I told him what do you expect this time of year.

that guy has been dismantled for a few days now. pretty funny if you think about it. what if someone made a snow man and it was accidently rolled up in it!!!

Didn't they build a new shelter @ Keller? I know they re-did the biffs... and I was told by my neighbor that they rebuilt the bathroom on one of the other side of the lake.

I'm not proud of this noodle, but I'm desperately stretching to get Highland to fit. Clue #5 has the words "an unfortuanate fact". I think I saw someone mention this might be in reference to "An Inconvenient Truth". So maybe this is pointing towards "Albert Street" (for Al Gore). That runs directly into Highland Golf Course. Like I said, I'm not proud of this.
