It's almost 11 and my phone hasn't rung yet today, so I assume it's still out there. There's still 7 hours or so of daylight left though. I wonder what hunting this weekend will be like if it really gets into the 60's?
Just sitting at work and being bored. Can't noodle the clues because I already know the answers. Just have to wait I guess until someone sees the "Big W" (for Wonderland of course). hehe
So here we are, waiting for the last clue before things heat up for the weekend. I should mention by the way that I have a Mason meeting tonight and thus I'll have my phone off between 7:30 and 8:30 pm.
From the treasure’s home, our Capitol dome You really can’t see worth diddly squat. But you’ll be getting hotter if you stay near water Even though the treasure is in a very dry spot.
And the previous clues:
Clue #5
Where the treasure doth dwell, only time will tell Though it might appear that time stands still. For when you see a train that does not move or gain Then have this treasure hunt in hand you will.
Clue #4
How much wood do you think a woodchuck could Check if a woodchuck could check wood? Though a woodchuck could, doesn't mean a woodchuck would, But if it would and it could it should
Clue #3
The game of Gin won't help you win And in Poker, no one sits in the north Instead set your aim, by sighting this game And you may need to go look for a fourth.
Clue #2
While taking a look around, you'll see hazards abound And thus safety and common sense are important details Troubling I think it would be, if I should happen to see Legions of hunters wandering too far from the trails.
Might it be true, you'd like another clue? Solve then if you will my funny little riddle. How would you go? You'd drive to the park, no? Right you would be if you first look for the middle.
Clue #1
Because St. Paul is the place, flowing with heaps of park space, You may consider it smart to work together in pairs. For two heads keep better pace seeking out a treasure's hidden place Or then again one person alone may spot the fourteen squares.
I'm gone for 3 hours and there's only two messages. I feel so unloved. sniff sniff. Well tomorrow's clue will definitely give you something you'll have to think about.
Allison, your clues are great! I like this last one, because I think I understand it a little bit. If I ever get any idea, I will post it... dont hold your breath.
ok, I am going over to BC in the morning- It all looks good on paper anyone have an idea of Duluth/Case? You can see a train area there and I saw in a picture a bridge in the distance? and it is on AMES st (sounds like AIM)
You can see the Capitol from Mounds park but CAN'T see the Capitol from the other little Mounds park- I liked the regular Mounds til this clue.
Newell is out - I like the well NeWELL and you could see the Snelling Ave Bridge and the trains and in the Midway area
how would you get there? middle= Mid way
near water could be any park with a pond or water fountain (like Irvine or Rice-I dont think you can see the Capitol from Rice) or a creek (like BC or Mears-you can't see the Capitol from there but it is still in the middle of downtown:))
oh and Legions---I think AW may have used this this time the correct way-instead of how way off the PP used it- instead of the FRENCH! (uuuh, shudders the thought) ---to use it for Americans---hense the soldiers at Battle Creek or Shadow Falls(across from the soldiers home in Mpls)-
believe it or not, he could have actually put this thing in swede hollow. in the lower portion of it where the capitol's not visible. phalen creek runs through there. time certainly would appear to stand still, and its hard for trains to move around on the tracks since they're no longer there. there's plenty of wood for the woodchuck to check down there. on the north end is the minnehaha bridge, on the south is 7th street, and with the snow cover, it could be hazardous down there. and its one of the "larger" heaping parks of the city.
A woodchuck is a groundhog by the Merriam dictionary (think I posted this yesterday)=---- Groundhog CHECKS his what? SHADOW! = shadow falls! you can see the Lake St Bridge and I counted 14 square signs but I kept loosing count- those were a lot to look at-
look at it this way, j. he checks his shadow in the morning (unless its a female groundhog, in which case she checks her shadow in the morning), when the sun's rising over the eastern parks of the city first.
ooooh ESD! maybe- you think he would put it in the same park twice so soon like the PP did! I don't think he would, I havn't even given Phalen a second glance on this hunt...YET!
time and train = A.M. Trak or AM TRAK ??
Hey CM- how do you get apple from this clue?
...only time will tell
William Tell
As I said, just off the cuff stuff.
I like the am trak idea me2!
Wow, last year's Mock Hunt had almost 3,000 messages! Of course I think we had more people doing it too. Maybe if we had a bigger prize...

Give it another night, I know of atleast a few "addicts" that will be in it a little more.
into the 60's
:-) :-) :-)
Yes, I suppose the weekend may end up making a difference. People will also have clues 7 and 8 to go off by then.
Just sitting at work and being bored. Can't noodle the clues because I already know the answers. Just have to wait I guess until someone sees the "Big W" (for Wonderland of course). hehe
Ollie, aren't you working?
I'm at work, but that doesn't mean I'm working. I do have a meeting to go to in a bit though.
So AW? Can I see your big W? ;)
I don't know, I'm thinking you might never see the big W. :-P
So here we are, waiting for the last clue before things heat up for the weekend. I should mention by the way that I have a Mason meeting tonight and thus I'll have my phone off between 7:30 and 8:30 pm.
I'm excited to get the clue - even though I can't really hunt right now. I love noodling this stuff!
Now watch Terry be the one to figure it all out. hehe
That would be okay with me!

Battle Creek sounds good to me too, me2.
I posted more ideas in that post too Tim- there are so many possibilities.

Marley and KIDS are down at Harriet so they will be onto this hunt pretty quick-The Frozen Butt hunt is over!
yeah, there are a lot of good ideas, too many good ideas for my liking. i wish there were only 1

I think its at Marydale
I believe it Ares, that sounds like as good a place as any so far.
why shadow falls, me2? i don't believe i've heard this theory.
A woodchuck is a groundhog by the Merriam dictionary (think I posted this yesterday)=---- Groundhog CHECKS his what? SHADOW! = shadow falls! you can see the Lake St Bridge and I counted 14 square signs but I kept loosing count- those were a lot to look at-
bounded by wa"could"a street? (me2's thought)
look at it this way, j. he checks his shadow in the morning (unless its a female groundhog, in which case she checks her shadow in the morning), when the sun's rising over the eastern parks of the city first.
I forgot about wa'could'a -thanks!
Wacouta
MEARS!
