2003 ThoseMedalingKids Mock Hunt

Submitted by ThoseMedallingKids on

Here is all the pertinent information on the hunt:

The TMK mock hunt will start on Wednesday, September 17, and end on Sunday, September 28.

Clues will be released at 9 pm each night.

There will be 12 clues in all.

The treasure will be hidden on public land in Ramsey County (stay out of the fairgrounds, off the indian mounds)

The treasure will not be hidden in a spot that will endanger hunters (along a cliff, under an electrical box, on the water of a lake/river, etc)

If there are questions or concerns, please try reaching me by email or egram. I will have my cell phone with me, but while I am at work it will be off. I will check messages during breaks though.

Prize will be announced. Donations are welcome.

Hey guys, sorry the clue didn't get out on time. Luckily I called Ares from work on my break. I was going to make sure he got it posted, and see what people were saying. That's when we realized he hadn't gotten to it. I made sure he got to it as soon as he could. Thanks for the patience folks. Next time this may happen will be Thursday, and I'll work things out more by then.

just e-mail it to me, I'll be sure to post it. I usually don't go anywhere durring the week.

I'll send it to you and LL also, besides Ares and Treasure chest. It will be Thursday, so I don't think that we have to worry about Ares helping her "put up cabinets". ;)

Nobody seems to have a clue. Maybe it will go all the way. If nobody finds it by 12, do I get to keep the prize money?

Liquor Lady

No! You have to come up with more clues then ;)

Hmmm, not too many parks near golf courses. Seems a bit early to narrow it down like that though. Must be a trick somehow.

I thought about Boston actually, but how does that end up helping anything? Unless it's not the "Boston" CD.

Sun, 10/05/2003 - 5:41 AM Permalink
Allison Wonderland

There's "Corportate America", "Boston", "Don't Look Back", "Third Stage", "Walk On", and "Greatest Hits" according to their official site. I don't see any of those being much of a clue.

Hmmmmmmm, so what did you find in her drawers?

Hmm, lilman said his hunt was tough. I think I brought mine to a whole new level. If something doesn't quite feel right, explore other options.

Sun, 10/05/2003 - 7:27 AM Permalink
Allison Wonderland

I think tough is good if after you read the explanations you think to yourself, "Duh, why didn't I see that?!" But if we're talking about a French flag that's on a school two blocks away from the park or having to note a discrepancy between a date on a website and a date on a sign...

we are heading to the tap & grill in north st paul to watch the vikes if anyone wants to join us.

ThoseMedallingKids

I realize now that I could have changed a few words to make it a bit easier. I think I erred too much on the side of making it tough. I have given the park out already, so I wanted to make that one tough. If the person gets it, I think they deserve the head start they get. I've given some clues as to where its in the park, whats in the park, what you can see from the park, and what the treasure is in. People might disagree with me on my philosophy. Oh well. I've done my best for my first time. :)

Sun, 10/05/2003 - 7:50 AM Permalink
Liquor Lady

well, so far all i can figure from this is that it's a park that you can see a golf course, Daycare/nursing home, and I think it will be in a cd case. with the golf balls, I think it will be a spot where stray golf balls end up when someone hits a bad shot.

But of course I'm probably way off the mark!

I suspect it's not within the City limits - but in greater Ramsey County somewhere. I actually dreamt about hunting with everyone last night and we were somewhere with lots of rolling hills with some water off in the distance.

We're heading back earlier than usual today and thought we could do some scouting. Keller is a place I want to check out. It's near a golf course, out of the city limits, and it seems to me there's some care home of some sort in the vicinity.

Keller has lots of hills and water :)

Fleas get under fur

golf balls left and found could be a hitting range or just RANGE
or you find them in water or traps or in the brush

if you need binoculars then maybe there is a lookout or nice view

the CORNER part of clue 2 make me wonder if its in the corner of the park-the corner of the city-the corner of the county.

I dont know what Scoobys vehicle reassembles is yet BUT loot makes me think of gangsters and caves.

Villian AND caring home made me think VILLA park as well

New England CD -I like BOSTON Market near by

I wouldn't really want to believe it was out of St Paul but at the same time we need the practice

"reassmbles" is usually a cue for an anagram. But I suspect we're not supposed to anagram the phrase in the clue, but rather another phrase, that the phrase in the clue suggests.

now that the party is over and I have recuped I can focus on FOOTBALL and this hunt ;)
