2003 ThoseMedalingKids Mock Hunt

Submitted by ThoseMedallingKids on

Here is all the pertinent information on the hunt:

The TMK mock hunt will start on Wednesday, September 17, and end on Sunday, September 28.

Clues will be released at 9 pm each night.

There will be 12 clues in all.

The treasure will be hidden on public land in Ramsey County (stay out of the fairgrounds, off the indian mounds)

The treasure will not be hidden in a spot that will endanger hunters (along a cliff, under an electrical box, on the water of a lake/river, etc)

If there are questions or concerns, please try reaching me by email or egram. I will have my cell phone with me, but while I am at work it will be off. I will check messages during breaks though.

Prize will be announced. Donations are welcome.

Digger Dawg

I heard the clues involve my buddy Scooby so I have to venture in on this hunt with y'all.

The pound would definitely not be a caring home for us Dawgs, nor would the animal humane society which is close to Como.

Us puppy Dawgs are thinking it means we can be walked on a leash in this park due to one of the signs posted and that there is probably a day care home/center nearby seeing how the clue writer loves kids. As for AA park, no you cannot see downtown St. Paul - too low & too many trees. We like trees! They're good for us to pee on... however there are a couple of daycare homes around it and it is down the street from the Dawg's house. LOL

If AA turns out to be the right park, Dawg better lay in a supply of hot cocoa for weary hunters.

if i remember right, you can see the wall from the lower end parking lot. its on the south cliff. you might have to walk around a bit to see it though, but its there, very near the lower end of the cliff.

Okay, a few housekeeping items. Clues will come out at 8pm. At the time I was going to start, I didn't think my work schedule would allow me out until 8. I will be getting out at 7 most nights. So to give you hunters some time to hunt in the light, the clues will come at 8 pm, starting tonight. When I do have to work the later shift (3-10:30) I will be emailing the clue to various people to make sure that the clue is posted. Also, as to what you are looking for. I hid a coin somewhere on public land in Ramsey County. The coin is about 1 1/2 inches wide by 1/2 inch thick. You will know when you find the coin.

Not to worry... we got plenty of cocoa here at the Dawg house, we could also get a fire going in the back yard as well to warm up by.

Clue 3

You know this sort of thing gets under fur
Only so much treasure hunting dogs can endure
Your chances of finding the loot are considerable

I will say that with this hunt, you will have to really open your mind. You will have to think long and hard about each clue. I've tried to vary the clues somewhat. There are some that will involve more than one step. I want each clue to be a challenge, and the person that can successfully conquer the most challenges will have the best chance of winning. So be on your toes. I'm introducing new ways to put information into clues, using variations on old favorites. Good luck all.

No, I think that people who can do the best with figuring out the clues should be rewarded. That some dimwit just walking into a park after everyone else is there shouldn't be able to find the treasure. Besides, I look at it as a good practice, to open hunters' minds as to figuring out clues. Make us better hunters.
