coffee is brewing and then I am heading out
I don't know if she's really looking. She just happened to walk by that "Park" and looked.
She said she might go to the paper on Friday and Saturday.
I still think the clues fit in one of the parks, I just found it interesting that it wasn't on the NO NO list.
Do any parks have hockey rinks that are up year round?
Is there any playgound equiptment that have looney toons charcacters on them? (porky pig?)
Any "Charlotte's Web" themed kiddie things in the parks? (Wilbur)
Highland

none that I know of....
On the UPPER LOOP!!!
I'm not sold on the Capitol Mall because it's really not referred to as a park as mentioned in clue #1.
Welcome tatergirl! I read some of your posts over on the PP board. You sound like you know your stuff. Glad you found your way to our new home.
The flag has not been captured...
dylan...you know the routine...its the same.
lots of non-coolers showing up in the parks.
Here's my short list....
Phalen, Highland, CoNO, Swede, and Iris.
You would never stand a chance in hell with my long list......
I'm able to get more things to fit in Swede then anywhere....I'm tempted to list them all but i'm upset that lurkers don't want to share ideas 'cuz afraid of knowledge and "noodling" skills....I know that is the case...
LURKERS...let us help you...you help us...its how it works....you'd be amazed how 1 little thing can trigger a memory....
Its why we do what we do....FWIW...this thread doesn't have to be public....but we offer it like this so you can enjoy our passion and join the ranks of HARDCORE
I like the west picnic grounds....
(no... i dont LIKE it... its part of Como, which everyone should hate, i just like it for the hunt)
Mainly because of a couple of things...
If your at the entrance, at intersection of Hamline Ave and Midway pkwy.... you can see the space needle at the state fair (start moving up and around)...and can also see the 1st Natnl Bank sign, downtown...giving yet another meaning to add to the ever growing list of stuff having to do with "saving" at Como....Midway bothers me..... I keep thinking Midway as referring to the Saints, and where they play...and a saint being "a heavenly guide"....
Also... could be a stretch....hell all of these could... but im throwing them out there just because they made sense at 3:30 in the morning when first discovered and still kinda do now......but maybe the famous pig is a play on words, and if going by that stuff I just listed, their referring to HAMline ave - ......Ham = Pig??
More notes that have nothing to do with the hunt:
The wolves are scary, if you forget their out there, and they start barking/howling in the middle of the night....I thought a wild pack of dogs was coming to get me.....
People for some reason, like to leave large piles of wood in bonfire pits.....make use of those.....I did that twice last night....was checked on once by the cops, and they didnt care, really.....
The Rain sucks....especially when it looks like your gonna be able to enjoy a good sunrise, and then the rain comes from noplace, and dumps on you for a good 2 hours.....
I'm heading back out there...
thank god for hunts, and allowing the escape of real life for a while...
see you guys out either there, someplace... or downtown again tonight...
Hi dylan - sup?
Hi to the new people
Heading back out. ::sigh::
I was out at Como yesterday and today, and I also mulled around the Capitol Grounds as well. Some of the clues fit the capitol, but when I was there, it really didn't seem likely. Como seems way more plausible.
That being said, I feel like I've seen way more of Como the last two days than I've seen in my whole life. This morning, my sister and I walked around the entire lake, stopping at every tree to check out the branches or anywhere else that seemed like a spot that they could hide this flag. Maybe if it were nicer outside, it wouldn't have been so bad, but walking around that lake in the rain was almost unbearable.
I think there's still some more to be found in these clues. The "famed pig" has me stumped. I also am not quite sure what they mean by "you won't be hotter too close to the water." All the earlier clues seemed to direct us away from Lake Como entirely, to the other portions of the park, but then today's clue brought me right to Lake Como. Yet they're still telling us to stay away from the water. It all comes down to how close is "too close," according to the clue writers.
Hopefully, I'll head back out to Como in an hour or so. I'm rested and recharged after about eight hours driving around St. Paul (and frequently getting lost; it's not easy for a Minneapolis native like me to navigate around St. Paul) and searching around.
Good luck to everyone here!
The newest thought was a bit earlier today, here it is.... P.I.G. (Pretty Important Guest)

I know I was until the COcoa/MOcha clue. Everything seemed to fit so well elsewhere. So what I learned is that if you're soemwhere and the clues fit really well, you're in the wrong place. Especially if ALL the clues fit.

Memory lane (instead of old beulah) I thought of Lexington when it used to go near the pavillion but they rerouted it.
Memory Lane I recall was near the dutchoven.
Reflection = memory = memory lane
If you take SAVE from this particular clue you could have the animal shelter with the no kill.
This hunt has all the workings of a certain other hunt I remember in the not-so-distant past. Who wants to join me at Harriet Island on clue 6?  :frown: :worried:
second- I still think como
third- I'll be at the paper at 11 cuz when we got there at 11:15 last night the guy was waiting for us.
Has anyone got theories on "long view of history" :
