Here's an ad that even non-geocachers like myself can see the humor in:

Mio Digiwalker GPS Unit Commercial "The Fly"

Also a link to a history page about the Met Center:

Can't find any video, but here's a couple still photos of the demo: Half of it refused to go down.

Here a link to a slide show that includes the photos above, plus photos of the Civic Center as well -

Cool site. I miss both of those stadiums. I have day by day teardown photos of the Civic Center and Xcel rebuild from on top of the Travelers building where I used to work. I'm gonna see if I can dig some up.

I'll post in photo thread

Everyone has heard this at least once before - but since the merger news I thought it wouldn't hurt one more time....

The animation is miserable - but it's supposed to be an audio clip anyway. Turn off the monitor and listen.

But I got the 07/08 wild to beat the 07/08 avalanche in 7 games, winning games 2,3,5 and 7. Funny, that could be very plausible. But, the first three games weren't overtime 3-2 games like in real life.

Sweet Picture of KARE-11 Reporter!

There's really no reason for me to post this, other than the fact that this reporter threatened me today, and so I shall show her who is really the king of the Minneapolis/St. Paul Internet.

It's me.

I give you: Jana Shortal, from KARE-TV, when she was a young basketball superstar.

KARE 11's Jana Shortal Hoops It UP!

Note how the socks match the sweatshirt. Niiiice. Here's a link to Jana's blog (which she never updates).

Jana e-mailed me today, saying, "Watch it boy." Oh yeah? Well, watch this! (I actually love Jana, she's a great reporter, and even better person. But I can't help myself. Hopefully she'll add something in the comments, and I'll promptly delete it.)

but there are catch 22's to that! if you look up the zip code I think it is called st.paul from USPS!!

like Eagan I lived in some of the areas of Eagan that has a zip code in st. paul?? I dont know how it works but it dose??
Thu, 04/24/2008 - 6:43 PM Permalink
Eags

That used to bug the piss out of me, when I lived in West St. Paul and I'd get mail all the time addressed to St. Paul MN 55118.

When I'd call companies I did business with and they'd ask my zip code, then when I told them 55118, they'd say, as if to confirm it, "St. Paul?" I'd tell them, "no, its WEST St. Paul".

They didn't care, couldn't care - their system wouldn't allow them to put it in there correctly.
Thu, 04/24/2008 - 7:34 PM Permalink
Mad_Dach5und

our ZIP is 55125 - comes up as St. Paul in about 60% of the places that ask for it

The St. Paul city limits is close to two miles away from our Woodbury house.

You, know those store clerks ask for ZIP codes to help with demographic information - maybe we should just give them our phone area code instead.
Thu, 04/24/2008 - 7:41 PM Permalink
Eags

I think, even after I move back, I will give the store clerks my zip code or area code from up here. That'll fix 'em, eh?
Thu, 04/24/2008 - 7:43 PM Permalink
CerealKiller

ok ok Just my point of refrence!! I allways just say HarMar and leave it at that!!
Fri, 04/25/2008 - 12:51 AM Permalink

I just make up numbers when they ask me for my zip code.

"Did I hear a Niner in there somewhere?"
Fri, 04/25/2008 - 6:17 AM Permalink
mrmnmikey

Tell them no thanks.

Every time I get my hair cut they ask "whats your phone number"?

I say I dont have a phone.

1/2 the time they dont know what to do.

Then I'll ask, "do I have to have a phone to get a haircut"?

I don't think I should have to provide any information to them if I'm paying cash. They want demographics? Then pay a company to go collect it for them. I'm not giving it away free.
Fri, 04/25/2008 - 9:31 AM Permalink
Redbear

I asked the haircutter place that once. They told me that it wasn't for demographic information, it's so that they can maintain a file on how you like your hair cut, so if you get someone different they can cut it the way you like it.

Exactly. And it's less personal than your last name.

mrmnmikey

I don't mind telling them what I want evrytime I go in.

Its easy to look up an adress with a phone number...then a name... then? Junkmail.

To each their own I guess.
