My condolences to your mom (and all of you) on the loss of her little furry one. Megan looks like such a sweetie. And I know the additional meaning a dog has that has a connection with the passing of another loved one.
Mom and Dad were watching TV when Mom said, "I'm tired, and it's getting late. I think I'll go to bed"
She went to the kitchen to make sandwiches for the next day's lunches.
Rinsed out the popcorn bowls, took meat out of the freezer for supper the following evening, checked the cereal box levels, filled the sugar container, put spoons and bowls on the table and started the coffee pot for brewing the next morning.
She then put some wet clothes in the dryer, put a load of clothes into the washer, ironed a shirt and secured a loose button
She picked up the game pieces left on the table, put the phone back on the charger and put the telephone boo k into the drawer.
She watered the plants, emptied a wastebasket and hung up a towel to dry.
She yawned and stretched and headed for the bedroom. She stopped by the desk and wrote a note to the teacher, counted out some cash for the field trip, and pulled a text book out from hiding under the chair.
She signed a birthday card for a friend, addressed and stamped the envelope and wrote a quick note for the grocery store. She put both near her purse.
Mom then washed her face with 3 in 1 cleanser, put on her Night solution & age fighting moisturizer, brushed and flossed her teeth and filed her nails.
Dad called out, "I thought you were going to bed."
"I'm on my way," she said.
She put some water into the dog's dish and put the cat outside, then made sure the doors were locked and the patio light was on.
She looked in on each of the kids and turned out their bedside lamps and TV's, hung up a shirt, threw some dirty socks into the hamper, and had a brief conversation with the one up still doing homework.
In her own room, she set the alarm; laid out clothing for the next day, straightened up the shoe rack. She added three things to her 6 most important things to do list. She said her prayers, and visualized the accomplishment of her goals.
About that time, Dad turned off the TV and announced to no one in particular. "I'm going to bed."
A Mom was out walking with her 4 year old daughter. She picked up something off the ground and started to put it in her mouth. The Mom took the item away from her and told her not to do that.
"Why?" the daughter asked.
"Because it's been on the ground, you don't know where it's been, it's dirty, and probably has germs," she replied.
At this point, the daughter looked at her mom with total admiration and asked, "Momma, how do you know all this stuff. You are so smart."
She was thinking quickly, "All moms know this stuff. It's on the Mom Test. You have to know it, or they don't let you be a Mom."
They walked along in silence for 2 or 3 minutes, but she was evidently pondering this new information. "Oh...I get it!" she beamed, "So if you don't pass the test you have to be the dad."
''Exactly," The mom replied back with a big smile on her face.
We could use some possitve thoughts tonight from everyone.
Well I get home from vacation yesterday and Nana tells us that Amy started coughing a little bit yesterday mornign now tonight she has a barky icky cough that is going to be keeping the whole house awake. If she gets too much worse tonight I'll be taking a trip down to the ER I don't like to chance things after my mom thought she was "ok" and then 4 hours later decided she better go to the doctors for a persistant cough and wheeze and she had a Blood Gas of 54% oxygen they were supprised she was still concious.. She ended up spending 11 days over Christmas last year in the hospital with Pnemonia...Granted she does have COPD issues that compounded the issue. Normally I don't over react with winter colds but I've never heard Amy cough like this and for some reason it has me on edge tonight sorry to ramble but I'm trying to make myself feel better. Thanks!
Bring her in LA. It'll make You feel better. She'll be OK. I feel like you're just going through a parent moment. They're even worse at hunt time when your brain is flying the way it is. Try and stop the gloom and doom looping going on in your head. And by all means Don't Look On The Internet Searching Symptoms!
she's actually having a quiet moment right now as long as she has more quiet moments than coughing fits I'll wait but its going to be a very long night for me I know I won't sleep much I'll probably sleep upstairs on the couch so I can hear her rather than downstairs in our room where I won't hear her if I'm sleeping. Thanks CM!
Had to delete a message as in my wonderfully altered state of consciousness I saw your avatar, and thought you were talking about your dog. :sheepish: You did mention a barky cough...
I apologize if you read it before I deleted it.
If you never saw it... This whole post didn't happen. You must have just imagined it.
Yeah I went to Web MD prior to that advice from Cluey, Fortunately Amy didn't have to be subject to me poking and proding and listening to her chest and all that I didn't want to wake her up since right after I posted she actually slept peacfully for a while. I've got an appointment for later today.
Well I attempted to send her to school today because her cough seemed under control a little bit she still had a slight cough well by the time she got to school and was out in the cold it must have irritated her lungs because by 10:30 school called me and asked me to pick her up :frown: Now that she is home again barely coughing...I goes in fits for like an 30 minutes she'll cough non stop then she won't for an hour its weird...hopefully the doctors will be able to get us something to make her more comfy.
Well I ended up canceling the doctors appointment today because I was able to find something after trying 3 different meds that controls the cough. We'll hold off on the doctors for a few days if its still bad by Friday I'll take her in. Today she's been pretty lazy and only ate one bite of dinner so I know she isn't feeling well. She is normally my big piggy when it comes to eatting yet she still remains rail thin I'll never understand it.
............. so sorry
here I am egramming you and you already had it posted - sorry I didn't see it sooner. I'm awefully sorry gl :frown:
I won't miss her crazy hours, her pumping up the furnace to way warmer than we like it, and phones ringing in the middle of the night.
I just wish she was living here instead of way out there.
 :frown:

That's always a good source of un-needed stress.
