The one girl is lucky. Her head missed smacking a light pole by about 6 inches. Instead she fell down to the sidewalk with the other girl on top of her just wailing away.
Wish I had my camera, the irony of all that right next to that peace clock was just too much.
That show is way too slow. Slow enough it's really annoying. In half an hour I think they ask all of maybe a dozen questions, most of which I have answered right away, but they spend forver pondering it.
Thats my problem with it too. They come back from a commercial, answer the question, go to the next question, then say they'll answer after the next comercial again. So you end up with one queston every 10 minutes and 3 comercials. With only 60 minutes, your lucky to do 6 questions.
And while I'm at it....
Why does he always have his hand in his pocket? Playing pocket pool or what?
You know really it's too bad. The basic premise of the show has a lot of potential. It's just bad editing and a poor production staff. Maybe if ya got rid of Foxworthy, fired the editor/producer and got some new talent in, give them the directive of having a faster paced show, then you would have something.
And don't give me that crap about 5th graders having short attention spans, that's no excuse for dragging questions out.
Also, the very 1st time that show was on, and the kids came out, you could tell they were all "preselected" kids.
They should just have average kids on there and let the kids have 1/2 the money for college. Intead it all looks fake.
Have they ever been wrong?? I think they tell them the answers. Foxworthy will say something like "they all got it right" when I didn't even see him walk over to check their answers.
one kid (the red head freckled boy) is a regular with Nickelodeon - I felt the same way- its rough when your own 5th grade kid says "I could be on that show" but in reality normal 5th graders don't have a shot at it.
I watched that 5th grade show on the DVR last night with two 3rd graders. I can't believe all the talk about this show. From my standpoint it was nothing more than a scripted sitcom with audience participation. Which it succeeded very well I might add. I'm curious on how it sat with Kitch and his daughters. Both times we watched it it was a huge hit. Other than watching the reaction of the 9 year olds, I too thought the show was extremely planned and long. But the participation level was enough to reel me in. I can tell that they played the show in front of families many times before they got it right. Other than Extreme Home Makeover, I really don't see many other family shows out there. Mark Burnett knows what he's doing and will probably hit it out of the park one more time with this one.
I agree with you CM....its hard to find anything to watch on tv anymore outside of the disney channel...I'm almost amazed that Disney hasn't created an HBO like channels...where you have all disney movies all the time.....
You're probably right. Although it doesn't appeal to me, you or most of us in here, it definitely appeals to their target demographic. I assume they're trying to get a piece of that Disney/Nick audience and also those families without cable too.
I have never watched any of those show on the list, with the exception of maybe 20 minutes of the finale of AI at Ares' and TC's place last year... maybe another 5 minutes during a season of it somewhere along the line...
The weather the past few days here. Its actually been staying nice at night. We don't get nice weather at night in the summer, it cools down and gets windy and yuk.
It is 64 and sunny here and Lake Superior is open. Whether that means the icepack blew to Canada and could come back, or whether it has truly melted, remains to be seen.
I have heat off, windows and doors open!!! Awesome day so early in the season, especially here above the 45th parallel.

(I'm just joking with ya KC)
Having my computer issues figured out, and enjoying Vista and being a guinea pig!
(turns out that my buddy ordered me the wrong memory stick...) All good now!
And while I'm at it....

Sorry- I should be in the other thread.
Congrats
Good luck! Hope you like it.

I predict if it keeps up like it has, it'll die a quick, painless death.
That'll give foxworthy some new comedy material "You might be a failed gameshow host if.."
That's exactly the reason that they should speed it up...
I gotta disagree. But hey, it's America.
I'm guessing it will be about the same this week. But can it hold on?

Eh, who knows. Maybe everyone likes it better than me and KC.
I agree with kitch, TV sucks. I think Pink Floyd said it best. "Got thirteen channels of sh#t on the T.V. to choose from."
Just change that 60 channels or whatever.
I went down once and didn't even scream like a girl.
