I'm torn - I've seen beautiful homes at reasonable prices by Hinkley or even up near Duluth but than again I'd love to live Mendota Heights/InverGrove - anywhere along the bluffs - as far south as RedWing - or even out Stillwater - marine on St Croix way - I'm open to ideas - but Id like water and a view and a fireplace and a big bathtub/jacuzzi
We're looking out of the TC's. I want something with a little bit of land. 2-5 acres of property. I don't really care about driving. Everything here is so spread out, I'm used to having to hop in the car to go everywhere.
Having a loving wife who arranged our little 5 day mini vacation to see Evanessence Chevelle Finger11 in Cedar Rapids then Think Floyd in West Des Moines.
Getting pics and parting with guys from Chevelle and the lead guitar player from Evanessance in a bar afterwards. We were the oldest people in the bar. Every one else was no older than 25.
Also checking out the National Motorcycle Museum and Duffs Classic car garage.
I'll be posting some pics later if any one is interested in seeing old harleys, classic cars or rockstars.
going to a memorial for a co-worker who passed, that was really pleasant, there were some tears, but there was much more laughter, and remembering the good times.
enjoy:
Turning Torgy into a geocacher. He got a GPS on friday, and took his kid out. They have 7 or 8 finds already! He is loving it.
enjoy: having my girls over last night for martinis, and we all pitched in and made an awesome dinner together complete with dessert and we hung out in our jammies and played board games.
enjoy: leaving for soccer in a few minutes after having a big cup of coffee to wake me up.
Having a beer and a cigar on the deck in my shorts while looking at Orion at 9:30pm in March. Also being asked by the girls if I could hook up the sprinkler today so they could run around in their swim suits. Only to dread pointing out a pile of snow still holding on the north side of our back yard hill. :frown:
I walked around Phalen today. Despite the ominous looking clouds, I made it all the way around, including Round lake. Also picked up the 4 new caches out there.
Found out mine has gotten toasted again, so on to a mk.III container. Lets see the wildlife chew through a bison tube.
The Think Floyd concert I went to was awsome! Well worth the money.
The venue was kinda like the Myth exept no upper level and all the bars were on the left side. They had tables for about 1500 people along side of the main floor and a section of tables in the rear of the building. They also had a main floor that was standing room only for about 1000.
It was very easy to see from anywhere in the place and it was really easy to just go up the side and wander into the crowd on the floor for a better veiw. The sound was really good and there were times you would swear it was the real Pink Floyd.
It was totally different crowd from the young, mostly girls crowd we saw at Evanescence the night before. This crowd was people in their 50's and 60's to young as 6 with their parents. Quite the spectrum. Every one though, young and old, seemed to enjoy it.
Vocals were a little off on some tunes from the wall, but overall was very good. Rodger Waters is pretty hard to imitate in some areas.
The most memerable parts of the concert were the guitar solo on comfortably numb and the woman singing on the end of the dark side album. Sounded just like the original. I was very impressed. The guitar guy wandered through the crowd on Comfortably Numb solo while the women back up singers (3 of them) took over on bass, rythem guitar and drums. I swear that was the best guitar solo I've ever heard live. (I've never seen Floyd live)
They started out with the entire Wall album in it's entirety. Then they said they would take a 20 minute break. They only took 15 minutes and returned to play Piper at the Gates of Dawn and Division Bell, Echoes from the Meddle album, Shine On You Crazy Diamond from Wish You Were Here, Then Breathe, Time and Eclipse from The Dark Side Of The Moon. Then they walked off stage and came back for an encore. They did Pigs from the Animals album.
IT WAS AWSOME!!!
I wish I had pics, but I had to bring my camera back to my car the night before at the Evanescense concert. We had called ahead and they said no cameras, so I didn't bring it since we walked 3/4 of a mile there and back from the hotel. Then when I got there they didn't even search anybody! Bummer! Oh well. http://www.thinkfloydlive.com/
Thanks 3M ... Me too! He is so cute when he's clean.
I dropped him off this morning, he doesn't usually stand up on his hindlegs for much, but he likes the kid who was working this am, and got up with his paws on the counter to greet him. I felt better about leaving him, cause he actually likes the guy.
his surgery is this afternoon, and i can either pick him up late tonight (like 9 ish) or tomorrow. I have to call at 8 and see how he's doing.
The funny thing is... I'm so totally sore from bending and washing him, and my thighs from holding myself in a squat postiion for so long are still burning. Washing my dog may prove to be the best exercise yet.
Enjoy: Celebrating the son's 30th birthday today. Feels like an April Fool's joke. Seems just like yesterday he was carried off that NW airplane and placed in our arms.
Kinda switching from a live to eat to an eat to live routine.
Actually I don't know if this is more of an enjoy or irritate.. Maybe a bit of both.
I can say it's alot easier to switch when you're making your mind up to do it, instead of someone else nagging you to.
2) Getting a great job that allows me to move up and be up north with my wife finally!
I'm thinking of doing the same thing
getting my new ergo keyboard and ergo mouse (with 5 clicky buttons) but the 10 keypad is back ordered.
it's a pretty slick set up - and as soon as the 10key comes, i'll be all set.
well, that and the fact that I need to get a rubber mat for my desk, as the new pad sorta slips and slides a little.
its a trip to learn how to type on this one, the outside buttons (home, end, delete etc) are in odd places.

w00t! w00t!
I can't believe it

the vet felt really bad about his ear reoccuring, so he is redoing the surgery.
I gave the big guy a bath tonight. me and a 120+ pound dog in the tub... fun times.
