My biggest fear with dying is drowning - so to go over bridges over water?!?! - well I always move to the inside away from the edge... now how can I get around the downtowns when they are surrounded by water and a fear that the bridge can drop from under me - ugh...
its a scary thought kat. when our bay bridge collasped in the 89 earthquake - it put a fear into me, that is still with me today. Everytime I cross the Bay or the GGate - I think.. what if it all just dropped right now? I think it should be pieced together with floatation devices under it - so if it fell, you float.. nice and easy.
I think I'll ask for hazzard pay at work - I risk my life everyday driving from St Paul into Mpls..hehehe... but seriously traffic was bad when is was 2 lanes in and out - but to have it COMPLETELY GONE!!!! Traffic is really gonna bite!
Abby told me tonight that when she's stuck in traffic and moving along slowly, if there's an over pass ahead she stops before it and doesn't move until the traffic has cleared it.
Before tonight I would have thought that was crazy, but not anymore.
I live near a mini 'grapevine' of freeway interchanges. All of it's being worked on. It always makes me nervous - so much so, I refuse to take the freeway during the rushhour, cause I don't want to be on / under near it.
I love crossing bridges and looking out on the rivers. kinda a funny way to look at it but I do get closterphobic about some things and when I cross a river or open area on a bridge I feel better- kinda an opening up free feeling. I wish I could drive and take photos at the same time when I cross them. I think the views are beautiful.
I heard some overpass in California collapsed yesterday- did anyone hear about that? vino?
good night kitch- I drug myself to the computer just to check in and be sure everyone was alright. It is draining :frown:
I have this sorta game with one of the maintenance employees - we try to scare each other.
They other day, he snuck out between two tanks and frightend me half to death. This morning, he came crawling around the edge of my desk wearing a wolf mask. I of course screamed like a little school girl.
but getting the revenge is always the fun part. I'm not sure what I'm going to do to him yet.. but it will be something when he doesn't expect it.
once I poured a bucket of water on his head. That was classic.
Reading the local police log, which is published daily in the newspaper. It is full of mostly benign-sounding things, although there is the occasional more serious criminal activity, or at least suspicion of it.
Wednesday's police log included two calls to the Lake Superior beach near Lakeshore and Hawley. The entries said "nude swimmer reported", one at 8:47AM and one at 12:43PM.
I'd driven up that way in the afternoon, just to see how many people were at the beach, as it was 98 degrees. I wondered why there were two police cars parked there, and uniformed officers near the beach.
Yep, I had goosebumps listening to him talk about what he thought, what he did. In the four seconds it took them to fall, he was already formulating plans for getting the kids out under various circumstances. Wonderful to hear that his former school is going to try to help him!!

I also need to try to find higher topped soccer shoes, cause he wants to put mega inserts in the heels so I run without pain.
he's a pretty cool guy. I'm happy to know, that I don't have to give up sports, I just need to take more advil, stretch, and embrace wedges in my shoes.
The first time I'd heard of this condition, a friend was telling me she had it. Only she couldn't remember the exact name of it - she called it plantar fellati-itis.
Worked with a really nice guy (John) during the Rice Street Parade - had a blast, he's a sheriff with Ramsey County! (made note to self to keep him in mind to help with other festivals)
Had a neighborhood National Night Out party last night... John is my neighbor!! Lives 5 house down from me!! We both had a laugh when I showed up... like HEY!?!?
Both decided we need to get out into the neighborhood more..hahahaha

I'm so proud of her for being strong and doing it. Although I'm a little worried about her, none the less, he can be pretty aggressive when angry.

The young man Jeremy who is being hailed as the one to jump into action on the school bus.
Went to Dunwoody for one quarter, but couldn't afford it financially.
