Having a slight excuse to take the next couple days off, but since I have this overdeveloped sense of a need to be at work I didn't take it.

Of course now I found out someone else here took the next couple days off. But the icing on the cake is we can't use the other part time person here to cover phones while the other person is on vacation.

I'm over being upset about crap at work, it's just slightly irritating. Of course it's nothing compared to what others here like CM and nick are going through. Actually those things kind of put my situation in perspective. Basically why should I bicker about petty stuff?

I know what you mean KC, we have alot of shit going on here too, NT's ex is about as irritating as they get, she's pissed cuz tawny wouldn't go there last weekend for her sisters first communion and of course it's all our fault :eyeroll: wait till she finds out she's not going this weekend for mothers day, plus NT is filing child support papers this week, shit is really going to hit the fan when she gets served those papers, seems so petty compared to what others are going through :eyeroll:

CM was right tho. Everybodys problems, no matter how small, are important to them personally. Just because your problems aren't as bad as someone elses don't mean they don't matter and arn't a big deal to you.

Having to work, and actually do my job for like 20 minutes straight cause someone of importance was in the next office, and some howe sitting around with my feet in my desk, having a personal phone call and eatting toast struck me as unprofessional.

A friend of mine was out for lunch with a co-worker. She was regaling him with all her problems, which were obviously causing her a great deal of anguish.

Then it was his turn, and he shared with her about a life-threatening issue in his family.

She apologized to him, saying that her problems seemed trivial, compared to his.

He said, "Hey - you fell out of a fifth-story window and I fell out of a ninth-story window. We're both hurting pretty badly."

So, while sometimes I can put my own problems in perspective by comparing them with the problems others face, its also important to acknowledge the pain that does come with our problems.

Not good to "stuff it" - that's for sure.

you would love my friends front yard - she lives down by the fires that are in Griffith Park in LA right now and days her front yard smells like a 'charcoal factory'

not a huge fan of charcoal... but there is NOTHING in the world sexier than a fireman in his turnout clothes and the fire smell on him. My office mate is sitting here nodding in agreement cause her hubby is CDF.

another slight irritation. Getting a small dent on my new car. It showed up on the hood, and I have no idea how it happened.. :angry:

I think this is the first car I've owned that I've wanted to keep it clean and looking nice. Already I've had trouble with scuffs on the plastic covers over the rims, now a dent.. blah... I'm sure that sounds over dramatic and nit picky, but dangit, I gotta pay for the car for another 4 or 5 years.

Its a plant that sometimes is steeped into tea to help with sleeplessness - however its really really dangerous, cause it's part of the nightshade family.

also, alot of idiots who try to use it for hallucogenic purposes soak it in rubbing alcohol (toxic) The berries can make animals really really sick if they eat them.

The big ranch house my family had when I was a kid had belladonna growing as a boarder around the iris garden. I remember as a kid my great aunt warning me not to even touch the berries.

She fancied herself a botanist of sorts, had lots of dogs, and kept this one garden of hers with all sorts of poisionous plants (Oleander, the Iris, Belladonna, etc etc etc) on the other side of a fence cause she was very worried about me, my cousin, or one of her pets dying from the plants)

I remember loving the name belladonna, and Iris and had two stuffed animals named after them.

see and my long weekend at home comes in to play I need to just sleep this weekend away!! and I have used it befor!!! I am vary fermiler with the plant thats why I asked And I didnt say why If you know it like vino dose you would know why i wanted it LOL!!! I wouldnt out and out ask for ilegla drugs or anything like that esp. on a public borad!!! I just figured Id post an update about Nick's dad, since this is the place he normally does it. I also hope he doesnt read this before I get a chance to talk to him, but I just got off the phone with his sister, and the nurse at the hospice care facility said if he makes it through this weekend, it'd be a miracle.

Just keep him in mind this weekend.. he's going through alot of stuff and could use support from you all. He looks at you all like his family, and he needs you guys too.

I want to thank you, on behalf of him, for your love and concern for him, his family, and his father. It means alot to us!

I just got off the phone with Nick!!! it is a nother vary sad day his father passed away at 5:15 pm this afternoon nick sounds like he is takeing it about as good as he can!! I am so so sorry my brother. My heart goes out to you big time. It's a really tough time but know that the CC is a great place to be when you're ready.

Even though it's a bit dark around the Cooler lately, it is a real bright place to come to for unconditional support. You guys have been nothing short of miraculous! All of your kind words really do have a huge personal impact. So much that I could only get through a couple of nice posts before I'd totally break down.

Thank you all for everything you've done for me and my grief. I'm in a pretty bad place right now but your guiding hand has really made a positive impact on my direction.

To the outside, we might seem a bit odd, but until you experience the love within this group first hand, you might not really understand it.

I'm honored to be a part of this group of generously caring people.
