A perfect storm today for me. This isn't so much of a complaint as just a journal of how my day is going. Thought someone might have fun reading it.

Yesterday it was busy, and we had our supplier change unit of measures on some items (specifically, pens, now we have to order most pens by the dozen instead of individually). Of course, with our busy day, most of our customers wanted to order the items that had the UOM issue. And my one coworker was gone. Left a lot of unresolved issues for today.

Today, woke up early, went to the dentist, 170 bucks and an hour later, I'm off to work.

The phone system (crappy packet8.net VoIP phones) went down at noon, they finally got it fixed, after an unknown phone number repeatedly kept calling in with no one on the other end of the call (most likely a test number, I don't know). So, the phones finally got back up and fixed, and we had voicemails. 95 new voicemails, all from said unknown number with no message. By the time I got done deleting said voicemails, the internet went down, taking the phones with it. Thank you very much comcast...

Got back up with a partial connection now, getting tons of errors... I hit my cutoff time with a vendor, so I was rushed to get our orders in, when the phone rings and I end up taking a 10 minute phone order. The lady on the other end of the call kept complaining that we had a bad phone connection... I know, I know, I'm sorry..

I think my one solace for the day is when I finally get done here and rush to my wednesday night volunteer job (I help out with a kids group at my church) that ironically their theme night is entitled "Skip it".

Viagra Ad e-mails at work.

Our Mail server is set to block these ads for the Windows Machines, but several still get through on the Macs. The whole system is infected but I dunno if that bug can ever be removed.

I accidentally disabled my e-mail filter for three days and ended up getting about 85 viagra ad e-mails in blocks of about 15 at a time.

I'm still under 40, but I GET THE MESSAGE, OK?!?

Um...I accidentally flushed my cell phone down the toilet a little while ago. I don't know what was worse...realizing that I flushed my phone down the toilet or having to fish it out of the trap (and yes, I WAS wearing rubber gloves!). I got it but I had to rinse it off and now need to let it dry out before I see if it will ever work again (I fried my last phone trying to see if it would work before I ever dried it out). Anyway, if it does, I should just keep it cuz that would be a damn sturdy phone. If it doesn't, I may get the G1 again. Damn it all to hell!!! :angry:

one way I've heard of people drying out their phones after getting them wet is to put them in the oven at a low temp (125 degrees) for a few hours.

Honestly, if we had any real traffic going through the shop right now I could squeak out a whole banner plus the trimmings and no one would notice or care. After these layoffs and shortened work hours, NO ONE wants to stick their neck out right now - including me.

I can do the design work at home, though - PM me if you need help with that part.

I'm just looking for a flier to hang on the bus stops downtown. I can print my own if you wanna design it. I suck at that part. Just leave some room at the top and bottom so I can use duct tape to hang it up.

I was just gonna hang a few around downtown is all. Guess I'll forget about it.

The guy on days at work getting an infection in his hip. They are worried about it spreading to his heart and he's in the hospital in arizona. So I have to work for him. I was supposed to be on 2nd shift and now I'll be on 1st. Screws up my vacation I planned for the hunt. I still get some time off, but can't be downtown on some nights I had planned because I have to work at 6am instead of 3pm.

I'm cool with it...

I found out last year that even duct tape don't stick when it's too cold out unless you can wrap it all the way around onto itself.
