She was up here for her friends b-day, they were all hanging out and 1 guy needed to go to the store so her friend allen drove him in her friends mom's car, thank god the girls stayed at the house...Allen the driver was not wearing his seat belt, eddy his passenger was and so was the girl that ran the stop sign, they are both ok. Just don't understand how she could have missed that stop sign, there is a railroad crossing right there so you see those like a mile before you even get to the stop sign, you would think she would have at least slowed down for that
well it happened where 2 highways meet, everyone stops there....it was at hwy 107 and hwy 70, the girl wasn't from around here, she didn't know the area.
oh LL, I'm so sorry to hear about this. That really sucks, my heart goes out to everyone. Feb 21 will be the 1 year anniversary of losing a good friend of mine in a car wreck.
It's never easy. I hope that somehow, something good becomes of it, be it a lesson learned or another life spared.
In my buncha years in the st. paul public school system, we only had school closed twice...
once for the halloween blizzard, and then one other time, my junior year of highschool for supposedly too much snow.... I walked that day, and it was fine, they had cancelled it, as I was on my way....
My school posted its announcements on the radio and TV at about 7:30 am, which was about three minutes before the bus would usually come and pick us up. I lost count of how many times we were fully suited up for school only to get recalled from the top of the driveway.
So. St. Paul used to pride itself on being "The school that never closes". And it didn't. I loved those snow days. You were free to attend any class you wanted to and I recall it being a lot of fun.
That changed in the early 70's when they started busing students. Before that everyone walked because each neighborhood had a school. There were six elementary schools where now there are two.
dude I know you where in school the same time as me!! adn longer they closed school once for a day or 2 in mid 90's Because It was TO COLD!!! it was WICKED!!! dude!!!
Anyone wonder why the Pioneer Press has been kinda moot about the Hunt when you'd think they would've advertised better? It's because they've created a new forum and web page for it....
1) stepping up and taking charge of something no one wanted to do
after stepping up and taking charge - everyone has their 2 cents.
my new motto - if you don't want to do it - shut up. If you want to do it, then take if off my plate and handle it. If after you never stepped up and you want to complain about it - meet my dirt soccer socks that I haven't washed in 8 weeks - cause one is going in your mouth.
