sigh* think I have things settled/figured out at work now.
Thankfully no 1 year commitment was added on the offer for employment. I will work the best I can to get the new place up and running (should be about a month) and then I will be actively looking for other employment. (to put it in a nutshell, I'm unhappy with the ethics here, but I'll play the system in my own best interests of staying employed until I can find another suitable job).
Might eventually talk to Red Bear, sounds like he finds jobs for people.
As of this moment, picking up garbage would be a better job.
The delicate part is keeping in touch with my former co-workers so I can have good references (which I'm sure when they find out I'm leaving here, they'll be more than happy to give). Only problem is the unethical issues with the company president, which I need to make myself as far removed from as possible (adopt a "don't ask don't tell" policy).
At least I finally have a light at the end of the tunnel, I need to get out of here, but collecting a paycheck is important, and I'll feel a small sense of accomplishment moving this place. All I need to do now is prepare for the next few months of transitions.
It's a good decision to leave though, from seperate sources I know of a few things that I would feel uncomfortable doing to someone. Just confirmed my theory with my final meeting with the president. Made me sick, but it's only a means to an end now.
be wary of unethical bosses - if the outside world knows of it, and you later go to interview with a competitor.. they may view it as one of those "you are known by the friends you keep"
I was in an interview once, and the GM came in and after seeing where I was currently working (he had a beef with the prez of said company) totally went off on my about how they don't run things there by flying by the seat of their pants, and how you have to be loyal and dedicated etc.
I actually got offered the job, but declined cause I didn't want to work for a judgemental crazy man.
Thanks, I'll be careful. Right now I'm walking on eggshells anyways, I only signed one piece of paper, and it was very very basic (thankfully) acceptance of employment. So I'm not commited to anything besides being an employee for now.
Basically I'm not signing anything that commits me to anything other than working day to day. If I'm forced to agree anything further, I walk, plain and simple.
Just got a call --- sometimes the excitement of my job bites though! The house on the river bluff at 334 Mounds Blvd was built in 1864. Its the white one as you drive 94 eastbound out of downtown. They owners are selling it and 2 other houses on over an acre of land to any developer that wants it for 1.275 million! They currently didnt have it open to people who just want to buy it. They hope its bought in bulk and torn down! :frown:
I just talked to a realtor and he thought the price was too high!
It bites to be right on Mounds and the highway right there BUT the view up and down the river is cool!
A couple of years ago there was this woman who had movers move her house from the Cherokee Bluffs to George St. (approx 4 blocks). She is now building a dream house on the bluff! A little slim,(you'll know what I mean when you drive by it)... but beautiful!
Its the one on Cherokee (just west of the condos), she could get a million for hers and its barely on 1 lot. Its gonna be a Frank Lloyd style house-beautiful!!!!
- Finding out that another friend has also gotten a divorce, and is taking off for who knows where, in search of a mother, that he hasnt seen since he was 5 years old.
- also seeing another friend go through some serious crap, because his "significant other" can no longer handle the pressure of being in a long-term, committed, openly gay relationship
More garbage at work today. Now I have damage control to do with my former co-workers that are getting screwed by the business closing.
What sucks is I enjoyed working with the ones that left, and now I'm hearing them trash talked by the co workers still here. I'm not siding with the president or them, but I'm most definately getting out of this as soon as I've got the new place up and running.
It's the best ethical thing I can do. Sometimes it sucks to be such an honest guy, I hate keeping stuff from anyone, and even with this I won't.
It's fairly typical to blame the current problems on the ones that have left, KC, what you're experiencing is fairly standard. It's easier to do that than to understand they're partially to blame too.
It's mostly why I want out of here, too many shady deals, too much manipulating, and questionable ethics at best.
So here's a good question, when I'm applying for other jobs, usually they call to check past employment. If the company I worked for has now dissolved, how would an employer be able to check when I was employed there?
having 4 different people, back out of plans for a show, for seemingly the same reason - no reason at all... leaving me to either go alone (not likely), or not go at all (highly likely, at this point)
No baby is due August 30th. We found out today it is a boy. It is approx 9 inches long right now. Which is above average for height!! Half way there now!
That much testosterone in your house, I'm sure there will be times you'll want to be named "Save Me". I'd probably be the same way if Coco and I had three girls.
she hasnt been playing as well all week-Ive had my eye on her. She is constantly playing though to get those points. I'm lucky to get out when I can. She must not be married, kids are grown and she either has a 9-5 job OR widowed with money.
I will be at the bird and wiskey rack on Sat -then your house -then Whitneys b-day party at Grand Rios -then OGaras Sunday night!
I was gonna play last night BUT good ol kids that tell parents things last minute got int he way! Last night about 5 pm Sarah tells us that its Centrals registration night. So I spent most of the evening Central.
The kid is taking advanced math, advanced biology, advanced english and advanced american history.... French and Womens Choir ---- and the Volleyball team
I don't think she was really mine ---yikes! but I'll take her
Good news, I've been talking with the former co-workers and they're cool with stuff now, Apparently the president was forced legally to handle stuff properly.
The way stuff is running around here, I expect this new place is gonna go down in flames. Kinda fun to have a front row seat though, even if I do have to deal with a lot of crap.
Most definately looking for new employment after the move and getting stuff setup.

BTW, do you do more along the lines of finding jobs for people, or finding people for jobs?
Kitch finds people to turn them over until all their money falls out.

Good news is that he is very healthy and even above average for height at this point. So he might be tall!!!

They'll just have to trust you.
They can't say anything bad about you anyways without getting sued. (unless they have proof)
Century College was formed by consolidating Northeast Metro and Lakewood Community College in 1996. I think they use the Lakewood campus.
Congratulations?
And who hasn't done that at one time or another? Sheesh - women!

What was Danny boy when he arrived PM?

Going over to a aunt's house for Easter and EVERYONE in my family coming down with the stomach flu.
I never puked so hard in my life. :lipsealed:

Sorry to those who are sick / lost at poker
and KC - I had a company close it's doors. But I had personal references from that company - so I just used them.
