So, I'm a bit bias and hope the puck is in St. Paul. I decided to go with battle and brain to start my search because why not. I'm wondering with the reference to the pandemic and brain if perhaps the puck is in the vicinity of a medical facility that specializes in brain study. For battle I thought I look into something more like a military reference such as the 94 Freeway which is known as Purple heart trail. So, for now I'm thinking Meeker Island Lock & Dam Historic Park because a Masonic Institute for the Developing the Brain is nearby as is the 94. Like others have mentioned the use of tackle and muse point to a lot of possibilities. Keep on noodling. Also did anyone watch the deed is done video? My partner thinks they heard water in the background.
I was thinking it would be a good year to come back to the city too, in a small park, especially with the ice…..
We shall see

Possibly. I'm hoping though that they aren't lying when they say to come down from your perch. I really feel this is a year to come back to the city.

One for the writers of Sidewalks of NY was James Blake. Blake Ave bisects Langford Park so Blake is one the East and West sides of the park. Also, Langford Park road is on both the East and West sides of the park. Too early to really narrow to a park, but thought it was interesting.
I took a listen to a version on YouTube and in my searches it became apparent it’s a fairly frequent carousel song. I haven’t taken The kids to Cafesjian’s in a while but I could imagine the song being played there…
I was wondering about a chain of lakes, but if you believe it is in St. Paul, I think that would mean only Phalen qualifies? The clue kind of makes it sound to me like a chain is what is hidden with it. David

Wondering if searching for a park with theater, music, or the arts is hinted at by using the word muse. Or if the word muse is rhymed with news for a reason. We are told to "tackle these rhymes". Anagrams anyone?
Secretrose, I think you’re onto something. Just throwing this out there, too … there used to be a PP columnist named Garett Hiebert who wrote under the pen name Oliver Towne (read: all over town).
Okay! So we have (fishing) 'tackle' in the first clue and now 'perch' in Clue 2. And possibly a Gloria Dei Church for 'glory'. Only church by that name in Ramsey County is by Highland Park. Does' all around the town' mean it's in St. Paul? Or anywhere in Ramsey County 'surrounding' St. Paul? Too many choices. The real clue nugget has to be in lines 3 and 4. If anyone can figure that out, they'll have a head start on finding the medallion.
Clue #2 Descend from your perch, set out to search East Side, west side, all around the town Glory will reign when you find the chain To go with your cap and gown
And the previous clue:
The viral pandemic is now endemic
And the battle’s on for Ukraine
Take a break from the news to follow your muse And tackle these rhymes with your brain
The Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt is part of the St. Paul Winter Carnival every year. While the prize can only go to one winner, The Allison Wonderland is dedicated to the community spirit of treasure hunting. Here, not only will you find out about the Pre-Dig Gig, the Rehash Bash, and various other social events, but we also discuss the clues here in a team effort to decipher them (albeit not always successfully). This is a place to discuss ideas respectfully, report on what's happening "on the ground", and provide each other with useful information. This is a public group so expect that anything posted will be seen by everyone.
