Incidentally today- Beans had to bring a sock to Kindergarten to make 'sock puppets'. I sent her with a whole bag of singles for the class. So I am beginning a new collection of single socks today-
ALSO...hmmmm...speaking of 'single socks'-we search for their match, usually lost somewhere in washer/dryer heaven IS LIKE AW's Singles Club searching for their match (don't most singles search for dates/mates at the laundry-mat?)-maybe not a good idea to look there :)

When I was a kid, we had a particular clear-plastic handled hairbrush that was chipped in a very distinct, unmistakable way.
It usually sat on the flat area atop the toilet.
One day it fell in and got flushed.
Months later, I was walking in a faraway part of town.
There, by a sewer grating, was that hairbrush.
I was amazed and somewhat spooked enough to not pick it up.
Just kept walking...

Lost Socks & Dead Threads? I think there is something to this.
