I need this first post- I would like to think 'That's Snow Ghost' in my 'castle' and in my new green-'chariot'

Ever since we moved into our home 4 1/2 years ago we have had one breakdown after another with things around the house. Maybe someone can help...has anyone had a medium or pastor walk through your home and bless it? What was it like and did you see a change?

I found out today that the number 3 is not my number. I have had too many bad things happen on the 3rd of the month. Today my steering locked up on me and went into manual steering while driving highway 35E south through the 94/52 entrance ramp in downdown-on the curve yet. My serpentine belt got caught and wrapped up in the fan. My last car had umteen numbers of troubles and noone I ever knew ever had a problem with Saturn or even heard of all the troubles I always had! My car is always parked in the driveway of my property (not on the street)-so I thought there may be a link to the troubles in my castle!

I swear that the trailer I lived in during my government stint in Georgia had at least one extra occupant. Nothing evil, nothing scary ... just there.

Of course it could have been any combination of 3.2 beer, boones farm apple wine, columbian weed, mescaline and Santana. Seemed real to me

So, my husband and I like to take weekend trips around the South, staying in historic bed & breakfast inns and doing some sightseeing. A couple of years ago, we stayed in a beautiful old place called Grace Hall, in Selma, Alabama. Grace Hall is a gracious and historic old home, noted for several celebrities who have stayed there frequently in the past, including Lady Bird Johnson. In case you have never been to Selma, there is not much to do there except vegetate, but hey, it's so hot there you don't want to move anyway.

We booked a room for two nights, and scheduled a tour of the place with the owner the Sunday afternoon of our visit. We did a bit of exploring Saturday, and went to bed early (see above decription of 'things to do' in Selma). In the middle of the night, I woke up with the sense that someone was in the room with us. There was no sound, nothing to see, just the feeling of a presence--and one that was not very happy with us. My husband, of course, was completely oblivious, and slept soundly. Eventually, the feeling of the presence faded, and I put it down to the glass of strong sherry we had just before bedtime.

The next afternoon, we took the tour, and learned of the resident ghost, Miss Eliza (a former owner of Grace Hall), as well as at least four other ghosts who have been sighted there. It seems that Miss Eliza disapproves of ladies who don't behave like ladies, and I guess my drinking and swearing didn't go down too well with her. My husband and I both felt pretty creeped out by this, as I had told him of my experience over breakfast, and he had a good laugh about it.

Oh, and it is a VERY nice B&B, but if you go there, please watch your language! ;)

When I was a younger lad, I had a detective agency with my brother and cousin. Our agency was at the local level, keeping it just to the neighborhood. Our first case was investigating reports of ghostly activity coming from a house nearby. Unfortunately we were unable to conclusively explain the phenomena. Our group disbanded eventually, and I went on to bigger and better things with a new set of crimefighters. Have I ever told you about the time we teamed up with the Harlem Globetrotters to deal with ghosts?

Thanks L. Lionne. We think it's groovy, although strange to see someone else portray you. It was fun and easy though. When you work with people like Tim Conway, Phyllis Diller, and the Three Stooges, you build connections. They felt the time was right to bring our story to the big screen.

I think that my not being very animated right now is because I'm so tired. So I will go to bed and respond tomorrow to your question. Good night and stay tuned tomorrow :)

Thismorning I got a call from the mom-in-law....she asks how things are going and I replied with "it has been soooo nice to have 2 weeks of no troubles-everything has been nice" as I ::sigh:: realizing the relief!

As I talk with her I make my way to the familyroom in the basement to find my cellphone...::walking down steps to basement::...UNBELIEVABLE!...water all over the backroom near the washer (but water was not coming from the washer but from the outside-wall)...I get off the phone with mom-in-law and clean up a bit-get online (computer is in basement)while IMing with Ares-my feet felt a little wet-I felt the carpeting and sure enough--the water came through a wall under the carpet! We are on one of the highest points in St Paul!

You would think the ghost in our home would want to take care of the house so it has a place to spook! Why not spook in other ways-geesh

scary. almost as scary: two houses down from us, the water table is all of a foot and a half underneath the basement concrete.

ok, I worked at the RCHS yesterday.

I answered an "ask the historian" question

(usually I charge for City Directory look ups-but not through the RCHS-just when hired by individuals wanting family history help)

This was a City Directory look-up. They were from North Carolina. They had seen family in the 1900 census but couldnt read the address in it. So
Super History Woman
to the rescue...I looked up the address for them.

NOW, That afternoon Whitney opened mail for her Mary Fundraiser...She recieved a couple of checks...one check was from *MoM* ---yes, our *MoM* in the COOLER!

the address on her check for 2004 is the SAME ADDRESS AS THE MAN WHO LIVED IN 1910!!!!!!!

EXACT SAME ADDRESS!!!

what are the odds of that???

I NEVER knew where *MoM* and *DaD* lived until Whitney recieved that check!

and I found that address for the HATRY family who their grandpa lived their in 1910!

ALL ON THE SAME DAY!

this one is coincidence but:

back in the early 1960's my grandpa and grandma divorced and my grandpa left. Kids never saw him (until 2 weeks before he died in 1999)

in the late 90's my mom drove my grandma to a nursing home to visit one of her friends. They stayed on the first floor for their visit and then left. My grandma died soon after in 1998.

Then a friend of my grandpa showed up at grandmas house and said grandpa wanted to see grandma and make ammends. Grandma had already passed away. Sooo, my mom and this guy got talking and I guess the guy said that my grandpa stayed at that same nursing home over that time that they visited grandmas friend. Grandpa was on the 3rd floor. Can you imagin if they passed eachother in the hallway or actually came face to face that day!
