I was just talking about this over the weekend, at a baby shower of all places. A friend used the patch, and said he never would have made it without that. RunningChick swears by Zyban.
and you still have time to be the sysop and quit smoking. hmm. sounds like a miracle to me. :)
my sister's got to take 2 phys ed classes at st. kate's sometime during the next 4 years. she's convinced she's gonna take swimming and badminton, as that's what she played competitively in high school. i keep telling her to forget the badminton and take golf instead. she's gonna be a doctor for crying out loud; doctors play golf.
well considering she's never played (i've played 27 holes and managed to shoot a 161 on the 16 holes we scored on phalen on labor day), she really doesn't get to say she hates it now does she?
Smoke em if you got em.
watch out for the anti-smoking Nazis. They'll be here any minute.
I hope so!
I just went past my one year no-smoking milestone on 5/5/02. Yay me!
Think I'll go take a smoke break.
:-)
I still miss it sometimes THX.
ooh ooh...that smell...
can't you smell that smell?
ooh ooh...that smell...
the smell of [*****} is around you.
Don't do it!! You'll die!!! (See, jetoro was right, first time ever.)
RunningChick just had her one year anniversary of no smokes.
Congrats, that's great.
My brother and his wife just quit yesterday. Or at least that was the story at 9pm. Things may have changed since then...
Thats AWSOME Runningchick! keep going :)
Green M&M's for the quiters!
that sounds funny...a quiter gets a prize :)
I quit in May of 2001!
I quit on Monday.
I should get my 3 day ribbon tomorrow.
:-)
How's that treating you so far? The first three days are the worst.
Yesterday was a breeze for some reason.
Today is more difficult.
I'll survive.
I'm doing the patch so, I'm still getting somewhat of a fix.

Zyban did it for me-3 1/2 years now.
Scribe's on Zyban and she's doing worse than I am.
Of course it probably doesn't help her that she just started back at school after a 15 year hiatus.
:-)
probably not, no. how's school going for her?
Green M&M's for the quiters!
what do i have to quit in order to get green m&m's? nevermind, i do other things for them :)
how's school going for her?
Pretty good. Lots of reading and homework. She's taking four real classes and a weight lifting class so it's keeping her pretty busy.
I've become Mr. Mom. I've been making lunches, helping the kids with homework and have done laundry every day for the past two weeks.
:-)

Smart ass!
take golf instead. she's gonna be a doctor for crying out loud; doctors play golf.
What if she hates golf?
well considering she's never played (i've played 27 holes and managed to shoot a 161 on the 16 holes we scored on phalen on labor day), she really doesn't get to say she hates it now does she?
Well, she's gotta play at least once but, what if she hates it after she tries it?
Does that mean she can't be a doctor?
hmmm. yup :)
speaking of which, scribe, after she's done, will presumably hold a j.d. degree, right? does she play? cuz if not she's gotta learn too. :)
Yep, she'll hold a J.D. and no she doesn't play.
Nor can I see her taking it up.
see. then she can't get the degree either. i thought playing golf was a prereq for getting into any d. degree program. :)
No, no, no.
It's a prereq for being a poser.
:-)
Night Sam!
gotcha. nite ralph.
just don't tell that to me2. :)
and a weight lifting class
Just give her a shovel!
Or is that in preparation for January?
Maybe thats a sign we're expecting a heavy snowfall this winter?
Just give her a shovel!
She does plenty of that too with her gardening.
Or is that in preparation for January?
I think it's more for Ice Dancing. She's taking a ballet class as well.
Maybe thats a sign we're expecting a heavy snowfall this winter?
God, I hope not. I'm hoping it's like last year.
btw: I'm on day 5 of not smoking.
Thank you, thank you very much!
woo-hoo! keep it up.
Thanks, I will.
As of today, Scribe and I have saved over $50.00 from not smoking.
:: does some math here ::
that works out to what? some $3652.50 per year? wow.
I got it all figured out. $3.50 a pack, 3 packs a day between us, 365 days a year = $3,832.50.
Nice job! How many patches are you wearing?
Well, right now I take a 21mg patch and cut it in half.
I use half in the morning and the other half at night after dinner.
Oh, you can put two or three on at the same time. Go ahead, it's fun!
What are ya trying to do, kill me?
On the show News Radio, Bill did that and ended up having a heart attack.
I think he had about a dozen on. Two or three is fine. Trust me. :)
ares pretending to be frosti in issuing a disclaimer: i am not a doctor. :)
Nor do I play one on TV.
LOL!
One 21mg patch alone makes me feel freaky.
2 will make you funky.
like chewing 3 pieces of Nicorette?
I've never chewed Nicorette.
Yes, I am still not smoking.
:-)
how 'bout smoldering or steaming? :)
