A. Simply put, a Travel Bug is a new form of hitchhiker you can track on Geocaching.com. A hitchhiker is basically an item that is carried from cache to cache (or person to person) and you can follow its progress online.
Q. What does a Travel Bug do?
A. It's really up to the owner of the bug to give it whatever task they desire. Or no task at all. The fun of a travel bug is inventing new ideas or goals for the Travel Bug to achieve. One Bug's goal may be to reach a specific country, or travel to 10 countries.
Q. What can I do with a Travel Bug?
A. You can attach it to an item to make it a hitchhiker, or use them without attaching them to anything. If you find a Travel Bug "in the wild," it should already have instructions from the Bug owner on what it's goals might be.
Q. What do I do if I find a Travel Bug?
A. On this page enter in the number found on the Travel Bug in the box on the upper right-hand corner of this page, and click on the arrow button. It will take you to the page where you can read about the Bug and add a log.
hmmmm, I get to travel for free :) ride in peoples luggage eh. Isn't hitchhiking bad to do nowadays? at least for an M&M? What happens if they leave me in their trunk in the heat...ouch. or like that red guy in the commercial where they forget to open the box and let him out...I get closterphobic, don't know if I want to take the chance. 'I don't want to melt! I'm to young to melt!'
turned loose this afternoon in a park with a lake. Details when I get a chance. 'bones' rode with her in my pack, and became quite enamored I guess. The little critter stayed behind, and when I went to hide him, he couldn't be found. I went back to check on me2 and the a-hole was climbing through the weeds trying to get to her.
we discussed the reasons for that over in the look and feel folder the other day, ian :)
and you really shouldn't leave your gps lay there like that in the picture if you don't want one of us to find her. a little enhancement here, a little enhancement there, and boom.
i'm reminded of the scene in the first teenage mutant ninja turtles movie (hey they look like really big green m&m's. sort of), when they brought the news chick into the sewer. "it's the news lady." "can we keep her?"
September 14 by Centris The two Tbugs being so close together is too tempting to endure, so Thing2 and I escaped from the warden today long enough to come down here for a bit.
We hiked from the picnic area and attempted an attack from the east. I have since decided there MUST be a better way into this area than the way we came -- we got to about 400ft south of the cache and Thing2 begged me to go back -- mind you we had been slogging through mud and cattails and bamboo that was taller than me. This was interesting since I had never seen bamboo in the wild before. Anyway, we turned back without even hunting the cache (sigh) -- I will attempt a return attack later when I am alone.
We did however, on our retreat bushwhack, find a KingB cache of a different sort, seems Bad Randy has been thru here!
I can look for you-I spent a good amount of time thinking Jake hid his coin at Long Lake...there is information of it I think I remember on a sign near the beach and a path about that. It looked like a very cool piece of history to read. I will check my Minnesota history books to -see if they say anything.
Yes, I still have Me2 in hiding. I have heard rumors that she is in danger, well no fear, I will be happy to care for her this week and hopefully this weekend deliver her to another Ramsey County Park for a safe retrieval by somebody who will take care of her also. No deals or hints.
Since this is just for me2I thought I better peek in :)
'thank you for the honor'

incidentally she doesn't like visiting ramsey county parks north of c.r. 96.
I won't do it!If it is past there I will not go.
just like running water to a vampire.

thinking it. not typing it.
The journey is on ...
Why is she near MustangLane ?

He has lots of hands. You're BOTH north of 96.
Somebody PLEEEEASE FIND ME!::screams of terror::
::fists banging from inside of coffee can::
'let me out, oh please, let me out'
we still haven't gotten an answer to the question do we get to keep what we find.
:: checks behind the computer in case she's in with the dust bunnies back there ::
I somehow feel small in this thread (like Allison Wonderland when she eats the mushroom)
we still haven't gotten an answer to the question do we get to keep what we find.
to keep is to possess-I don't think me2 can be possessed.
hmmmmmm
well until i know if i get to keep her if i find her, i'm not going to commit myself to helping her get out of that can she's in.
hmm. that doesn't sound quite right. i'll probably get smacked for saying it, but that's ok too.
I was admiring Ians avatar and thinking ....ahh to be a genie in his bottle....then reality sets in...'get me out of this can!' ::bang bang bang::
Thanks guys.
OK, if you want to keep her, she's yours.

unless he decides to misspell ares as arse.
I've been sidestepping that, haven't I? A mini mustang just doesn't seem right ... gotta be something else.
Ares would need to be a computer generated hologram!

The 'Bad Randy' cache is found!
Found seven big ones about 4-5 feet high in various spots and several smaller ones along the trail, tsk, tsk, tsk.
This was found along the eastern trail just in case anyone would like to check it out (not that I would ever encourage that sort of thing)
Good news: me2 has been liberated. She is now in the hands of John C.
Bad news: bones was liberated also, and they're together again.
oh she's gonna love you for that, ian. :)
So, where am I then?
She is now in the hands of John C.
Does John have 'big' hands? :)
Ian, instead of going to a flea market or Ebay...just get me back from this John C guy and I will search my kids toybox for 'cache treasures'
does your husband know about him?
He knows about Bones and didn't even try to save me :(
It seems that there's LOTS of illegal activity wherever me2 shows up:
Check it out
Heh! I'll have to tell Marley about that one, I bet he could find it without a GPS!
Looked like Mounds View to me ??
close ...
Hey history buff, can you find me any info about a rhubarb and marijuana/hemp farm that used to be near Long Lake? I'd REALLY appreciate it.
i thought you said you never did that sort of thing, j. what else aren't you telling me? and hint, that's actually in new brighton.
I can look for you-I spent a good amount of time thinking Jake hid his coin at Long Lake...there is information of it I think I remember on a sign near the beach and a path about that.
