It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.
Amy Ho-ez
Does anyone think there's any chance it could be at Battle Creek Park or whatever??
My prediction is that tonight's clue will refer to a) murder and arson, b) a president's daughter, c) a retirement home, d) a worthy conversation, or e) trees and water. After all, a good theory should be able to explain as well as predict.
Hi Everyone! ---Do you think that the next clue will reveal whether or not there is still another park?? I don't know what to go for, Newell or Highland. I hope it is a good clue. Perhaps the street will be revealed or what it is hidden in. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE AT THE PARKS DURING THE DAY?????????????
If the Highlanders did fight the Christians, that wouldn't make them iconoclasts. Someone who rejects your beliefs from an outside group is usually called a barbarian or some such thing. An iconoclast usually has to come from within the society. Someone who grew up with the beliefs and then rejected them. Anyway, it says YOU are the iconoclast, not some ancient Highlander.
Whoever said that they weren't allowing people into como park on account of construction of new pavillions is wrong. The army trucks were only there while they built the giant slide which is completed now, and they are allowing people in there because i was there earlier. It would make sense for them to put it in como and not allow anyone in there for a few days as a delay tactic...holding people off to prolong the hunt during WC week next week when it is in full swing. Also a person who looks at como would be somewhat iconoclast becasue the clues obviously point to Newell or HIGH-land Park. Peece out ona blunt-
Yessir. No mam. Maybe. Who really knows? I only saw 2 other souls picking around Highland at about 8:30 this evening. Can it really be there? A bank is open from 9 to 5. I saw several banks of snow. Get my drift?
First off I'd like to say thanx to Eric for addressing the issues with the web posting system we are using so promptly. WooHoo hopefully no delays between 11:00-12:00 tonight! Second-Man have they got us chasing our tails this year or WHAT? Newell still the BEST bet out there. Did the drivearound tonight, hit Como (very few there, but I say a possibility), Newell (about 10 cars including the fact the building was open still), Linwood (too small, never be there, people would kill each other looking, if not by falling from the cliff first!), Highland (about four cars @ 9:15 plus some flashlights up on the high ground near the bridge), Mounds Park(some people there actually), and lastly I tried to get to Pigs Eye Park, but DUH! forgot the map book and ran into a dead end.....oh well. Stopped by ma press at 10:00, but they don't give papers out any earlier than they give the clue out on the net(11:30), so no advantage there, I guess they're saying they don't want us there :( - and after all those years of waiting! I just have hard time believing this next clue will help us much more, they obviously want this one to drag out longer, maybe even have us hunting in 2-3 parks on purpose up until the end! Who knows, only 50 minutes away!! WOO HOO...And Hi GoldenBoy, I'll plan on calling you again when it hits the web.
HOW MANY PEOPLE WERE AT THE PARKS NEWELL AND HIGHLAND? --Also, I remember last year at Cherokee, it was next to R.Schellety's house. Is this the same person??
You have to remember this is 10g's not the usual amount they are not going to have it so easy to find so i would suggest not going with the norm ... (ie. Newal)
yep that was me. I didn't get out today. But I like battle creek because of the ski jump, and "Flying down hill" yesterday there was only one other group at that park. It could be any park at this point.
I heard on the news that Como was a big spot for treasure hunters, though where I was, there was no one at all. Not even the telltale sign of the snow around the bases of the trees having been removed. Maybe if I can get a few people together, I'll go back out tonight and find the thing.
Last year, I don't even know how many times I kept arguing with people(in the cooler) that it wasn't at mounds! Even after the Chair-O-Key clue came out! I've come to realize that there aren't too many bright people in this world.
Hi Dave - I'm coolin my heels tonight, I'll get the clue on-line and head out in the AM. Thanks for callin last night - me, Woodduck and Birdie hacked around in the same area for about 2 hours. Did you see the "4" - IT'S AWESOME BABY!!!! Hoping #6 narrows the search area - regardless - you gotta hunt by daylight otherwise if you do come across it you might not see it - I can't remember the last time someone found it at night.
Yes, the very same R. Schletty, whose home was oh so very proximate to the treasure last year. My whole family looked very hard. We came fairly close. I am still weeping at the loss of financial gain. But, as my daughter reminded me tonight, it's not just the winning -- it's the looking and listening to other treasure hunters. It's great entertainment! Who is Eagle Eye? My cousin? Which cousin?
Josiah Snelling was an army man and apparently a highly competent one. Its unlikely he could have accomplished what he did in the army if he was an iconoclast.
Does anyone think there's any chance it could be at Battle Creek Park or whatever??
It totally has to do with Iconoclast ... the Highlanders went against and faught the Christians at some point in time

Amy I think i could be a battle creek, but I don't know how iconoclast fits in unless it is hidden in a religious symbol, or by a conoco gas station.

Hi Cousin Richard! How are ya?
Last year I was 2 feet away from where it was found ... the night it was found
It was found during the day last year.
Close doesn't count. You have to have it in your hand and not loose it.
I was too! I was digging right next to that woman and man. Remember them screaming! Hilarious! It was a pleasure just to be NEXT to the winners!
Not many people at highland this afternoon
was snelling iconoclast?
I know ... i was there the night right befor it was found ... the same people that found it were digging with us

was snelling iconoclast?
Tonight we'll know. I feel it in my bones!
Does anyone know anywhere to get a book on the history or MN or a web site for that matter?
If I found it i wouldn't say anything till i had already told the Pioneer Press
