I like the cowbell theory. I'd never have thought of it in a million years, but it's true.

He forgot "Henry the VIIIth" though. What would Ralph's have been without that song? And the Old Overholt, of course.

Side note: When we lived in South Dakota, we drove through the tiny town of Henry, SD every time we came home to visit. And every time, to Mrs. Frosti's chagrin, I would sing "Henry the VIIIth" at the top of my lungs. It may be one of the main reasons we left South Dakota.

Old Overholt

You mean the Old Overshoe, right? And what about the alternate lyrics to "Daydream Believer"??

Old Overholt Rye Whiskey

Price: $15.99
Company: Old Overholt
Type: Whiskey
Style: Rye
Size: 750 ML

87 PTS WINE ENTHUSIAST. Powerful, balance of brown spice notes and delicate fruit with nice smooth finish

Only I didn't notice the nice smooth finish so much.
Uh, hazy memories of "Daydream Believer". Why am I laughing if I can't remember what the lyrics are?

Cheer up sleepy (insert name of someone at the table)
oh what can it mean,
to a wet dream believer
and a slow cumming queen!

The pale ale I brewed ended up not tasting like a pale ale at all. It hardly had any hop flavor. Very disappointing.

See what happens when I'm not there to jog your arm while you're pouring out the hops?

(okay, they're pre-measured. :p)

Any ideas what went wrong?

I'm wondering if the extended time in the fermenter had an adverse effect. I guess I needed you to jiggle my brain to get me to bottle the stuff.

My kids have been really into Shrek lately, so I've constantly got another Monkees tune in my head, "I'm a believer"

"You're going the right way for a smacked bottom!"

That's actually one of my fav movies that C watches over and over. And over and over and over, etc.

Right now we seem stuck on Beauty and the Beast.

"You may have seen a housefly. You may have even seen a Superfly. But you ain't never seen a Donkey fly!"

I can take or leave B & the B. But I do enjoy the Gaston song. I'm especially good at expectorating!

I don't like B&B at all.

I really like Shrek.

Oddly enough, I heard "I'm a Believer" on the car radio while driving home this evening.

I realized after I shut down last night, but I also heard on the radio that it was Kenny Rogers' 65th birthday yesterday. Happy birthday Gambler!

Shrek?...wow...we have watched that and IceAge...and Monsters Inc, non stop for the past few months. My 3.999 yr old loves Shrek. Especially the "Shreks Dance Party" at the end.

Shrek is one that I don't mind watching over and over. Donkey gets me laughing every time.

We also have IceAge and Monsters Inc, but I prefer Shrek.

My 4 year old is all about princesses so IceAge and Monsters Inc just don't do it for her.

On-Topic: The Marine House Happy Hour is tonight, and it's my birthday, so I expect to drink quite a lot of beer.

Knowing what I do of your history, that's - frankly speaking - horribly frightening.

Sat, 08/23/2003 - 5:23 PM Permalink
Frosti

Well, keep in mind that I'm 10 years older now, and I drink far less now, so the hangovers are much more fearful than they used to be.

Hey-Moe

Rough one huh? How many days did you feel it?

I turned 40 a few years back...and the day I turned 40 I could only drink half as much to avoid a hangover. It was a strange and "sad" thing...I have adjusted and have avoided "feeling like shit the next day" for the most part.

I don't count on that happening on 27 Sep...day after the Oktoberfest trip. You guys (gals) would be disappointed in me if that happened no doubt.

Frosti

Well, it's Monday now, and I feel good. If I would not have had plans on Saturday, I would have laid on the couch all day. Sunday, I was still tired and was in bed by 9, which is quite early for me.

Yes, I would think the Oktoberfest trip would be an exception to the hangover-avoidance rule, moe.

A Pilsner beer made in this village I live in...called Edelsfeld.

Map of Germany...north of Amberg about 22 km, east of Nurnberg about 60 km.

Population 212...and that is after we move in last April.

What are you doing in Germany, Moe. If I may ask.

Wed, 08/27/2003 - 9:00 AM Permalink

Teaching U.S. Military soldiers/contractors/Local Nationals how to ship Hazardous Materials, safely and legally.

Just a temp assignment...a few years probably...then back to good ol' U.S. of A.

I love the beer/culture here...but hate the time zone thing...waking up at 0300 Tuesday morning to watch Monday Night Football stinks.
