Discuss the 2005 Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt here.

The life preserver was taken off it's original tree, and was moved to the trail crossing where the smaller shelter is. If you were out early and have an idea of where the preserver was, then you have an edge. I was in the area of where it's leading us. I think I was digging in the right vicinity. I just need to find it tomorrow.
there are 2 of those yellow "life raft" devices out there. good luck narrowing it down to the correct one.
but since i'm not out there right now I'll guess it's about 30 yards from the right turn on the path and on the right side of the woods near the 1st device. and I will guarantee we won't see another clue....it's gonna get found tonight or in the morning. !!!!!
No idea who moved it. As for reason, I'd think that it was someone who wanted to mess with people. Thinking that it would be part of a clue, a landmark and wanting to throw people off. It was the only landmark they could really mess with.
i'm not sure that clarifies much to me. it's just leading us further down the path. and the fact that they use moveable objects as markers doesn't help. i vaguely remember where they were last wednesday.. but that's pretty lame!
Happy to see some of the regulars in this forum. I am, once again, too far away to hunt but that will soon change. I'm driving home from Utah tomorrow. Let's hope the medallion stays hidden because I want a shot at it! It's been too long since I've been out diggin' with the crew!
Don't you hate it when you can't convince your non hunt obsessed friends to go out to the park with you? Don't get me wrong, I'd go without their lame asses if I had more range then a bike can provide....
Homelessartist - that is so true - can't seems to get anyone I know out there digging either - and I don't own a car either - if only I still had my licence I would rent a car for a week every year!
We saw one of those today. They are yellow painted wood flat slatted boards that one would shove out to someone who had fallen through the ice. You see those up around the area lakes every winter.
I'll go find it tomorrow. I have a pretty good idea of what magical tree it is. And an idea of where they're trying to lead us. I just have to go find it. All in good time tomorrow though.
Does anyone have a strong feeling for how far down the right bend they've sent us? I had the misfortune of visiting at night and have no idea where the yellow life saving thingy is. I saw two trees that have potential.

Thanks, FB!Â
TMK - Any idea who moved it or why it was moved?
My kids say the life saving device has been moving around the woods all night!
which life preservers are they talking about? there's some WAY down on the 35e side.. and theres one or two on your way to the "giant" fallen tree.
hey cory- didn't go out today. probably tomorrow night if it's still around!

There are trail markers reading 2 and 3 in the path as you come out of the parking lot.
Â
Is it near the fallen tree over the path? I was digging there with my son tonight.
G'nite Sam
OT, Otis said someone had a picture of it in its original location....that is where they are all at now...

technically, no, but it isn't like there's gonna be a whole lot the cops can do to get 100s of people out of the park after hours :)
It's been moved a few more time tonight, according to my kids out there. And yes, there are two.
I just hope a 'Cooler finds it
well. I am off to my cozy bed....good luck everyone!
nite pay me; i remeber your icon, the foot use to tap!
Thanks Pay Me
Did otis know who that someone is?

It would be magical indeed if anyone could find THAT "fork" tree in the painting
